  1. Yes here name is Margaret Im sure, cant remember her 2nd name ! She was at the 40th anniversary service.
  2. Thanks everyone ! god loves a trier so its all we can do n most important its already drawing support n favourable comments from some family members of the 66 !
  3. There is a petition started in the hope of a statue in George Square of the nurse outside Ibrox on 2/1/1971 - an iconic image and something I think that should have been done many years ago to represent the work of all that terrible day and in every day life in Scotland of the health works, emergency services n everyday people..... All signatures welcome and shares across all social media appreciated. The 1971 Ibrox Disaster was and remains Scotlands worst football tragedy. Glasgow to so many of its sons who never came home on 2/1/71 as well as the other men & children from around the country and Margaret Ferguson from Falkirk. We petition Glasgow City Council to build this statue before the 50th anniversary in 2021 on George Square Build a statue of the 'Ibrox Disaster Nurse' on George Square in Glasgowhttp://www.ipetitions.com/petition/build-a-statue-of-the-ibrox-disaster-nurse-on/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=button via @ipetitions
  4. Smart as ! I reckon thatd go down well at Lenzie Golf club.
  5. Is this it now ? Is there no major figure associated now like McCoist or Smith or anyone http://rangersfansfightingfund.uk/3.html Is that rfff board still the same ?
  6. Jim Hannah ..."Unfortunately, I did not have time to contact all the Family members before embarking on the repair work which was carried out on the Memorial plinth,... " So some got contacted, some didnt. Some families found out through the grape vine - pretty poor show all round. The families have had very little from the club all these years and imo deserve being given their due and their place.
  7. Someone on Twitter posted what Davie Mason The club historian has said.... The Robert Sarver interest has been ongoing for a few weeks. It has not been played through the media and he has done his due diligence and approached this in a thoroughly professional manner. He has no connections with the Park or King groups, but I gather from press reports he would work with all parties keen on the club progressing. His interest is in taking the club back to the top and into the Champions League - and has the resources to get the club there. This is a great opportunity for Rangers, but we will need to see how it plays out from here. He has taken advice from some Rangers sources, but, in keeping with the professionalism of the man, the business will conducted behind closed doors, I imagine.
  8. Seemingly going to get fixed next week but the whole thing about a stairway memorial is ongoing.
  9. The statue plinth has the new bricks on it replacing the blue plaques. They have put 71 bricks on the front instead of 66 names and 20 on the side instead of 25. Its all going to have to get brought off to get fixed. This work was done before anyone from the club phoned any of the families or even consulted them. John Greig said in his book he felt uneasy that such a tragedy should be marked by a statue to one man but David Murray had went ahead with it anyway. At the service to unveil it the families were sat behind all the dignitaries n left in a room with the minister for a couple of hours. After 30 years they felt what do we need a minister for. And they put the memorial at the wrong side of the stadium. The 40th anniversary was the 1st proper memorial service for the families inside the stadium given their place and due recognition after 40 years !! The fans liason officer decided after the 40th that there would be a fans memorial on the site of staircase 13 'for the fans by the fans' but as yet it hasnt appeared n no link for fans to donate n the hum n haw about the use of money from the RFFF in addition to those donations already from the medal selling and the hillsborough ibrox group donation. Its obv been enough for this family to speak up after them holding their counsel all these years n lobbying for any sort of statue or memorial to shame the club into doing something.
  10. Ah Sie Leslie big dingwallets guard dog "Its all about making money out the Rangers"
  11. Cheers mate, good luck to him as a local lad and the rest o the team. Have looked out for any mentions on the youths blog now n again.
  12. Wee Johnny Hubbard calls him 'Simple Symon' !!
  13. No need for apologies mate I dont think many would be outside those local to him or the ex players etc, as it goes Sandy Jardine despite his own health had been working on a package of memories to send out to Canada for Sammy.
  14. He has been in a home a good while now - unsure if its Alzeihmers or Dementia but his son passed away a few years back n Sammy wasn't any the wiser. He must be the oldest 1st team player next to Bobby Brown still with us.
  15. Mrs Easton is an inspiration and a true lady who does not suffer fools glady - 1 of many many families ripped apart ! Proud to have met her and Shane who lost his 5 mates and the Patons who lost their son and brother a twin at that. Check out this site as a resource... http://scotcol.wix.com/ibroxmemorialgroup
  16. Happy Birthday Mr Caldow ! I hope he is keeping as well as he can be these days. Was always great to see him around the stadium on match days when he was still able for doing the hospitality.
  17. there used to be a website at one point but it has been gone a while. Ifonly Sandy was still with us in top health most of all for his family n nearest n dearest he would be 1st point of contact Id imagine. Guess it would be the fans liason that started the RFFF - I know every time someone signs the petition it pings to his email ! Hopefully people will share the link around for those that want to sign.
  18. Im sure dingwall should have been booted off the RFFF board long ago certainly never be on it in the 1st place given what is common knowledge but its high time he was hunted in light of this new shirt venture as well !! Will your details or money be safe if he is involved in any initiative or venture. https://www.change.o...-the-rfff-board
  19. Hope it is ok to post this.... Sandy's grandaughter is doing a sky dive for Marie Curie who cared so much for Sandy and enabled him to remain at home in his final months. This is the link for anyone that may wish to support or share elsewhere. http://www.justgivin...Jardine-Skydive
  20. Is Dingwall still on the RFFF committee ? Jim Hannah should be emailed en masse for Dingwalls removal if he is.
  21. from Jamie Redman on twitter: Ibrox tunnel last season before kick-off - a few nervous bodies. Sandy Jardine: "What's wrong boys? Not played in front of 50000 before?"
  22. Sandy Jardine's funeral will be held at 10am this Friday at Morton Hall Crematorium, Howden Hall Road, Edinburgh, EH16 6TX. Please note the family have requested no flowers, although there will be collection buckets for Marie Curie at the crematorium should you wish to donate.
  23. Heard a couple of weeks back about Sandy being on borrowed time - He was 1 of a kind and my thoughts are with his family and the barca bears esp wee Doddie n John Greig. RIP Sandy
