  1. I think everyone is totally overreacting and mis-interpreting what he said here. He is letting it be known that anything less than second should and won't be tolerated. He says we aim to compete with Celtic for the league. He does not say second is good.

He does not say this year is non-negotiable to win the league because while he may be expect to win or at least try to win, that would be unfair on Warburton considering the budget and players he can target at the moment is not what it used to be.

Utter shite. Doesn't look confident on the ball, bad marking, got beat in the air a few times today and I thought at one point Miller was gonna rip his head off because he wouldn't play the ball in behind.

He was good in the air. Well, at least to what we're used to. They don't set the bar very high but he won more headers than Kiernan and Wilson ever do.

He also doesnt have a brain.

And Hill wasnt at fault for all goals. Watch the second goal again. Our whole midfield are taken out the game by one pass, and Kiernan lets Gray go. Hill stepped out because well he sorta had too as iur midfield were left with their dicks in their hands and Kiernan was picking up the forward.

If we want to press high then the defence needs a high line otherwise there will be big gaps between our midfield and forwards or midfield and defence. If you're going to do that though you should have quick defenders. The other option is to sit off and then press at a certain point thus having a deeper defensive line. We seem to have the wrong combination trying to combine a high line with slow defenders.

They both sit too wide its Warburton's style as they cover tav and Wallace pushing up, you could drive a bus down our defence Kiernan would probably rush out and it would go past him, while Hill  bus pass in hand would be nowhere near it.

Barton tried to drop back in the backline to help out but against Quicker sides he's too slow, Yesterday should be a warning to us, but it seems it's not as Burnley(ffs) are now Barcelona and we should be in awe of them,

Some say we are Building something but you don't build a hoose on sand,

The third goal is so basic too. The ball is punted by their left centre half. Hill goes in for the header and loses out. As soon as they see Hill going in, Kiernan and Wallace should've been covering but there was a massive gap between them. The ball was on the opposite side so Wallace wasn't even forward. Basic defensive errors.

Posters also said we would be good at the back once we got midfielders in i can see no change at the back and the players there are just as sloppy.

Warburtons priority should have been the defence it was poor last year and the weakest part of our team instead he's bought more midfielders than we need.

Second goal yesterday is a prime example. The Burnley player found so much space between our defence and midfield. The pass went right between Halliday and Barton and the player was able to turn. Nothing the defence can do at that point as they are turned chasing towards their own goal.

I agree totally with that, the big problem with a natural number 9, is Warburton system isn't set up to play with a natural number 9, when Dodoo came on he only got one pass! and he also plays wide,. Miller is finished, and Waghorn is just too slow and not really a box player either, thankfully we are playing in the SPL, but there has to be concerns especially with the CB's, Hill is not the answer, he might cope with most of the SPL sides but the top teams will find him out.

I don't think we necessarily want/need a traditional number 9. Maybe some do but I think it's not about how this addition would play but rather we just want someone who is clinical and will take a good amount of the chances we create.

Yeah I personally don't buy the need for a striker, we have 3 already. We are desperate for a CB and if we want to sign a better striker on top of that then fine. But make sure we get a quality CB in.

Yeah mentioned it in a different reply. Rather than buy a new striker, just don't think Miller should be starting anymore.

Agree that we need a quality centre half in there, especially for the bigger games.  I personally don't think we really need another striker at the moment though, we have Waghorn, Miller, Dodoo (still untested) and potentially O'halloran that are all more than capable of getting goals, as well as our midfield and also full backs.  Not been too great today but started to come back into it the last 15-20 mins and let's not forget we are playing an English Premiership side, one who I fancy to actually do reasonably well this season.

Yeah possibly. Just from watching the game, my point was more related to saying Miller should not be starting. Love the guy for what he's done but he's 36 and you can see his legs are not the same. Either bring someone else in or play MOH/Dodoo/Forrester/Windass to provide more energy and pace.

  9. Although we were terrific last year and won the league, there were still issues. The defence conceded far too many soft goals being split open and losing out at set pieces. And despite having a lot of possession, we missed far too many chances. It was therefore obvious that a number 9 type goalscorer and new defenders were the priority.

Just watching the game at the moment, it's really unacceptable that we have made nine signings and these issues have not been fixed.

  10. Yeah thought he was poor yesterday but it was only the first competitive game. I would like to see O'Halloran start ahead of him through the middle though.

Just on a sidenote, there was a moment yesterday when Motherwell were breaking away and we were looking in trouble and (despite being the CF) Miller sprinted back past shut the guy down. Amazing and really epitomised the effort he gives and what it means to him.

  11. The problem I had with him last year was his insistence on just putting his head down and running with the ball almost every time he got it. The funny thing was he was mostly doing that today but it was coming off and he was breezing past people and looking really dangerous. I would love to see him get an extended run down the middle, at least until we get another striker in.

There's plenty that can be done, mate. King and his cronies can put their hands in their pockets and stump up the cash they promised. We have record season ticket sales this season and meant to be debt free.

We are all maybe jumping the gun a bit. I have always said (and my position hasn't changed) I will really judge King based on what he stumps up for our summer spending. The window has a long time before it closes but if these other 2 that Warburton has said we are signing are oldies/freebies and that's us done then I'm sorry but I don't think that's good enough. If I'm wrong and we build a team that wins the title and get's us into the Champions League next season then I will be astounded and will put my hands up and say I got it wrong. Happily.

Season ticket money and the money sold at the food outlets must add up, we have the money we just dont know what's happening with it.

That's what I was referring to. I know what he promised and the fact that we have high season ticket sales so why is the money not being spent?

If they had it surely they would use it?

Running costs and maintainance work will obviously use up cash. Maybe there isn't enough for transfer fees?

Is it possible Warburton feels he doesn't need money? I know we have brought in some good players for free and are probably paying decent wages but it makes you wonder why we are not buying players.

I've seen people saying it's early but I think we are only looking for another two players (CB & ST). Those at best will be the only two fees paid if we are not targeting more out of contract players.

Will make a very hard job near on impossible unless the board release some money, This board need Warburton as he's the only one keeping them in at the moment.

    They must surely realise that.

Unless we don't have the money. And I know people like to bring up the 30 million quote and that was probably a mistake but there's a possibility we simply don't have the money to spend. And if we don't have it, we don't have it. There's not much that can be done. It's not like how it used to be and we might just have to try and challenge with what we have.

Eh let me see ,maybe the fact that 90% on here wanted him gone in a poll and a fair majority castigated him for his behaviour over the gardening leave scenario

Not looking to score any points by telling you this .Think it's pretty much seen as red on here .Pretty sure it's the same elsewhere .

Having said all that .I know he will still be treated like a messiah when he dies surface at Ibrox .Ally Is a clever guy .He knows time out ,is his only chance to even receive this

Yeah not looking to argue but I do think those on here are a small minority of the Rangers support (I mean that in terms of numbers not opinions). Couldn't say what it's like elsewhere. You may be right but I think there are supporters who separate the playing days from the managerial days. They still consider him a legend for what he did as a player and would be happy for him to be at Ibrox.

We certainly need a clinical striker you only have to look at chances created to goal scored to see that.

Yeah that is the only position I think MW will feel he needs to fill in his starting line-up and the only position left that we might spend money to buy someone.
