  1. I dont think enough bad stuff has happened yet to compare this situation to the PLG era. A couple of poor results could see it be worse. All I know is I am far from optimistic about our chances for the season ahead.
  2. Not often I disagree with you Boab - but thought he was very poor For his size, he wins very little in the air, gets pushed off the ball far far too easily, kinda like Chris Burke in that regard He ball watches way too much and the runs that he did go on he allowed himself to be led up a blind alley, running into the opposition where he was dispossessed far too easily Thought his first touch was very poor also and his decision making was less than stellar, highlighted by a crazy lofted back pass that putt McGregor under pressure On the plus side, he did set up the goal with a cross/scuffed shot - I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he meant it Have never rated the guy and today never changed a thing in my mind. I think we have thrown 3.5 million quid away on a dud I ask this - in todays market, with money tight, 3.5 million I equate to the 12 million we paid for Flo I think that Laugherty is as much a dud for 3.5 as Flo was for 12 The lad has played one game, give him a chance before you compare him to Flo!!!
  3. In my opinion Naismith has been a victim of WS's poor tactics and negative play. Showed potential to be a top player at Killie, still has plenty ability.
  4. I very nearly slipped into a coma at half time listeneing to that dreary fcuker! He makes Alan Shearer look like Billy Connolly.
  5. English Championship players and has-beens are the best we could get when we were still in europe. Sunday League?
  6. What has happened to our side? we're terrible. We were shocking aginst Kaunas, outplayed by a small team (did you see their stadium?) put together at a fraction of the cost of ours. The manager is to blame, his team selection was a joke. The back four was about as good as weve got at the minute, so no arguments there, although the players are simply not good enough. My issue is with the five across midfield. Charlie Adam is in terrible shape for a footballer, and couldnt trap a sandbag. Lee Mcullough in central midfield? hes an average left midfielder, slow as fcuk and doesn't have the sharpness needed to play in the middle. Dailly is un-exciting player, could surely have been sacrificed for a more attack minded player (Furman?) considering Kevin Thomson plays the holding roll very effectively at times. Thomson himself wasn't too bad, and Novo was our best player. Kenny Miller tried his best, although that may never be good enough for Rangers. What is going on?
  7. What worries me is the lack of basic skill and movement (the basics). We are lacking a midfielder who will be quick, link up play and make angles for other players. This is the most pessimistic i have been about a forthcoming season in a long time. Scary.
  8. Check out http://www.fsicrew.info/streams/todays-links/ tomorrow, it uses p2p to broadcast games from other countries TV. Checked it out tonight, lots of friendly games available to watch. Not sure it will be available, but worth a shot. SopCast is my preferred program for the matches.
  9. We have more money than Kaunas, yet cant beat them at home. Its an easy excuse to use, we cant compete with the premiership! we cant attract top quality players! but we can spend more than Kaunas, we can pay more wages than Kaunas, so we should be better than Kaunas You speak the truth no doubt, we should be beating these teams easily and thats where WS's tactics come into question. I think the tactics are to blame for our poor performances. So it doesnt matter who we sign, until the tactics and mentality change we will be poor. We are lacking in something different, another dimension.I think technically our players are dire (McCullough?) and need to shop where we can pick up good technical players. We have only played one game, and while it wasn't a great performance, there is still another leg to go. We dont know that it wont come together and we will serve them a humping, dont be so pessimistic man.
  10. Miller - Will never score 30 a season, but would run at a wall for the side, as some players wouldnt (Cousin anyone?) Velicka - Good striker, powerful with a neat touch, already proved he can cut it in the SPL Kyle Lafferty - Big lad, very attack minded, good on the ground; check out youtube Andy Webster - Has a lot to prove after his injuries Christian Dailly - a bit old school, wont give us anything special Madjid Brougherra - Good technique for a defender, wont panic under pressure (a good thing?) Overall im optimistic, would have hoped for a little more ambition in the market.
  11. The thing we have to remember (unfortunately) is that we dont have the financial clout we used to. The amounts of money flying about in the premiership is unbelievable, now we struggle to compete with Championship teams. What dissapoints me is the scouting network, time and time again we see clubs signing lesser known but talented players, we only seem to go for more well known players. Times have changed lads, we need to adapt, frustrating as it may be.
  12. I think Fleck is just a tad too young for first team duties, then again if your good enough, age doesnt matter. Nekounam would be a good signing, good passer with flair and a cool head. Also good at set pieces, something we have been lacking for a while in my opinion.
  13. I think reynolds would be a good signing, but as usual we refuse to pay a decent price for an SPL player. I mean 1.5m for Danny Shittu? hes just Marvin Andrews, but bigger. Standout for motherwell last season.Shame were too cheap to make a respectable bid.
