1. Guys don't get too carried away... At present the embargo still stands and it may stay that way. Today's ruling was simply to prove that nowhere in the rules does it state that the SFA have the power to hand us a transfer ban. However at the end of the day it's still up to the SFA to decide what happens as it's their rules... They can either stick to their guns by breaking their own rules to enforce it, or they can look at another form of punishment that's by the book. FIFA breathing down the SFA's neck is hardly a good thing either.. Basically unless the SFA punish us to a suitable standard the whole of Scottish football will be banned from international competition. That leaves the SFA in a bit of a precarious situation. They eirther piss FIFA and the rest of the SPL off... or they hammer us.
2. A mod for the PC that i've been tracking.. If the guy can fix all the bugs it'll be the best thing ever.
3. Picked up the PC version a few weeks ago... (used to have it for the PS3) Amazing stuff.. It leaves the console versions feeling like half a game in comparison.

FIFA 13

Won't happen.. EA pay a lot of money to license stuff like that, so i can't see them being open to letting us play around with it.

FIFA 13

Electronic Arts today unveiled five game-changing innovations that will bring revolutionary changes to EA SPORTS FIFA 13 along with the largest and deepest feature set in the history of the franchise. "We are perfecting the best sports game in the world with innovations that capture all the drama and unpredictability of real-world football," said David Rutter, Executive Producer for FIFA 13. "These are game-changing innovations that will revolutionize our artificial intelligence, dribbling, ball control and collisions to create a true battle for possession across the entire pitch, and deliver freedom and creativity in attack." The most sophisticated artificial intelligence ever achieved for the FIFA franchise will drive FIFA 13 on HD consoles and PC. All-new Attacking Intelligence enables players to analyse space, work harder and smarter to break down defenses, and think two plays ahead. Players now possess the intelligence to create, curve, or alter runs to capitalize on openings as they occur, make runs that pull defenders out of position to open passing channels for teammates, and better position themselves for new attacking opportunities. In FIFA 13 every touch matters with the most comprehensive and intuitive dribbling system ever developed. Inspired by the world's best footballer, Lionel Messi, Complete Dribbling enables players to face their opponent and use precise dribble touches combined with true 360° mobility with the ball, so it's easier to be more creative and dangerous in 1v1 opportunities. Players change direction quicker, are more explosive accelerating with the ball, and are more effective shielding defenders for longer stretches. FIFA 13 1st Touch Control transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating near-perfect touch for every player on the pitch, and creating variety and uncertainty around ball control. Factors such as defensive pressure, trajectory of the ball, and velocity of the pass now impact a player's first touch, creating more opportunities for defenders to win back possession. The second generation of the Player Impact Engine expands physical play from just collisions to off-the-ball battles between players. Defenders push and pull for position, and use their size and strength to win possession or force opponents into poor touches and decisions before the ball arrives. FIFA 13 Tactical Free Kicks provides the tools to create dangerous and unpredictable free kicks utilising the most skillful players on the pitch. Position up to three attacking players over the ball and utilise dummy runs and more passing options to create elaborate free kicks. Opponents can counter by adding or subtracting players to the wall, creeping the wall forward, or sending a bullet man to intercept the pass or block the shot. FIFA 13 will also feature:Improved Career Mode with major changes developed in response to requests from the most passionate fans of the franchise New features to enhance the massive EA SPORTS FIFA online offering, including improvements to the wildly popular Head-To-Head Seasons mode Multiple new features and benefits to EA SPORTS Football Club, the live service that is the heartbeat of FIFA Complete authenticity with more than 500 officially licensed clubs. Additional new modes and features will be announced in the months ahead.

Had no idea it was still that expensive on the consoles! I picked up the following for a grand total of £19 afew days ago.. (PC) GTA1 GTA2 GTA3 Vice City San Andreas GTA4 Episodes from Liberty City
8. Really? What shop did she buy it from?
9. Can't you just take it back to the shop where she bought it from? If she paid by card a bank statement will do.. Provided you've lost the receipt ofcourse!

That's a pretty good build. Though the 620w antec PSU may be overkill, as I don't think he'll be using crossfire anytime soon. The XFX 550w Pro is more than good enough and will save him at least a tenner, which he could put towards a 6870! Try to avoid Tower/PSU bundles... more often than not the PSU is junk. The PSU is the last thing you want to skimp on, its arguably the most important part... If that blows chances are its taking every other component with it!

This video is worth watching if your considering building your own system.. It's 2 hours long but its highly informative, he could teach a monkey to build a pc!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUY0tP5jYIo
Meh.. You could do much better. Some of intel's dual cores such as the i3 2120 and probably even the 2100 will out perform the fx4100 CPU... Don't be fooled by the quad core! The graphics card is pretty standard.. It'll allow you to play most games on medium settings, but you can get a lot more for your money.. the hd6850 which will push high to max settings is only slightly more expensive. I'd also be wary about the fact it doesn't mention the power supply manufacturer and wattage, there's a good chance they are using a junk one to cut costs. Also bare in mind you'll need to buy a copy of windows 7 for that machine.. So it'll be around £430. As tempting as it is to buy an entry level system i wouldn't.. save your pennies until you can afford to build something that will last you for a few years.
13. Wouldn't worry too much about KD.. it means very little in the grand scheme of things. SPM and W/L are the 2 most important stats.. and even then SPM can easily be boosted by playing 24/7 metro servers or using the little bird on canals.

Gaming PC

I just built my own gaming pc. £600 on scan.co.uk. I5 2400 3.1ghz CPU Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 motherboard EVGA GTX 560ti video card 8gb Corsair Vengeance Ram(1600mhz) 550 XFX pro PSU Coolermaster 334u case 22" Asus HD monitor (1920 x 1080) Already have a HDD, DVD drive and a copy of windows 7 so that knocked a fair bit off. That will run most games at max settings with 60fps, will probably continue to do so until the next gen consoles are release. Also your on the wrong amazon site.. amazon.com is american, you want amazon.co.uk!!!
15. Administrator PwC has confirmed OpCapita's purchase of GAME UK. Baker Acquisitions Limited, an entity advised by private investment company OpCapita, has picked up GAME's UK assets, including all 333 UK GAME and Gamestation stores that remained open during administration. The acquisition brings the UK business out of administration, which it has been in since last Monday. Baker said today it will provide GAME with "the capital it needs to trade on a normalised basis", and that the jobs of nearly 3200 GAME employees have been saved. Baker will also seek to re-employ a "small number" of staff who previously worked at GAME's head office but were made redundant last week. There are "no plans" for any further store closures, it said. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but media reports indicated GAME UK was bought for a nominal £1 fee. The cost comes from paying off the £85 million debt owed to GAME Group's syndicate of lenders, led by The Royal Bank of Scotland. OpCapita managing partner Henry Jackson said: "We are pleased to have reached agreement with the Administrator. We strongly believe there is a place on the high street for a video gaming specialist and GAME is the leading brand in a £2.8 billion market in the UK. "We have assembled a strong team of experienced industry operators to implement the programme of operational change that is needed. There is a huge amount to do but we look forward to the challenge of restoring GAME's fortunes in partnership with its employees and suppliers." PwC partner Mike Jervis added: "We are delighted to be able to secure this business sale and provide some much needed stability for customers, suppliers and employees alike in these uncertain times. The support of these stakeholders has been crucial over the last week and I would like to thank them for their support throughout this difficult period. "This means that the GAME brand will not be another one of the retail names disappearing from the high street in the current difficult climate."

Xbox "720"

They will.. dropping a console like a hot potato is not in their best interests. The PS3's struggled initially because of its price point and the poor quality launch titles...The 360 was a far more attractive option because it was considerably cheaper and had a far greater selection of games.

Xbox "720"

The reason the PS3 was so expensive was because it used new technologies i.e, xdr ram, cell processor and ofcourse blu ray.. From those only blu ray has been a success so that says it all! Hardware is a lot cheaper now.. even just now you can build a midspec gaming pc that will out perform a PS3 and 360 by a considerable distance for £300-400.. Since Sony would obviously buy components in bulk they wouldn't pay anywhere near that.. There won't be a huge leap in the next gen.. Better texture rendering, improved draw distances, reduced pop in, stronger AA and ofcourse more frames per second. Which will hopefully result in developers creating better animations..

Xbox "720"

Erm.. no console has had a "shelf life" of 10 years.. I'm guessing your referring to when Sony claimed that the PS3 would have a "10 year life cycle"? Whilst that may be true, it does not mean that the PS3 will be sony's flagship console for 10 years! It simply means that Sony plan on supporting it for that length of time.. They could release a a PS4 in 2014 and continue to support the PS3 for another 2 years after that.. Thus completing the "10 year life cycle". There's still games being made for the PS2.. Albeit only a handful!

Microsoft has moved to manage expectations ahead of its E3 show in June and announced that it will definitely not unveil an Xbox 360 successor at the event - "or anytime soon". A statement handed to Kotaku explained that Microsoft's focus for the rest of 2012 is its current-gen machine. Here it is in full: "While we appreciate all the interest in our long-range plans for the future, we can confirm that there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon. "For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360-and it's the best year ever for Xbox 360. The console is coming off its biggest year ever-a year in which Xbox outsold all other consoles worldwide. Xbox 360 didn't just outsell other consoles, it also outsold all other TV-connected devices like DVD players, as well as digital media receivers and home theatre systems. And in our seventh year, we sold more consoles than in any other year-defying convention. "This year, we will build on that Xbox 360 momentum. With Halo 4, Forza Horizon, Fable: The Journey and other great Kinect games on the way, our 2012 Xbox lineup is our strongest ever. "This year, we will deliver more TV, music, and movie experiences for Xbox 360-as we'll make it even easier to find and control your all entertainment. And this year, Xbox games, music, and video are coming to Windows 8 so people can enjoy their Xbox entertainment wherever they go." Sony has also stated that it will not be showing off a PlayStation 4 at this year's E3. Nintendo's new home console, the Wii U, is expected on shelves before the end of 2012.
20. Embattled high street shop GAME "has two weeks to turn its fortune around", according to a new report. Senior members of the GAME management have been told administration is possible, MCVclaims. The UK trade publication said the first step in this process is the firesale Eurogamer reported on earlier today. GAME launched a Spring Clean promotion today, offering games, hardware and accessories at heavily discounted prices. MCV said this was an effort to keep the company alive - something we've heard from our own sources. GAME has struggled to stock new titles in recent weeks, including the biggest game of the year so far: Mass Effect 3. That omission could cost GAME Group £2.5 million in lost profit. US giant GameStop reportedly wants to buy GAME's shops in Spain and Portugal - a total of 288 stores. Apparently GAME put its 663-stores overseas operation up for sale by appointing advisers at Rothschild in January. We understand GameStop is one of a number of companies looking at the struggling shop. Last month GAME managed to convince its syndicate of lenders, led by Royal Bank of Scotland, to relax its debt covenant. But sources said it was running out of patience. GAME said it does not comment on rumour or speculation.

I read somewhere a while back that Panasonic have the most patents for blu rays players.. Sony on the other hand have the most patents for the structure of the disc.
22. You do realise the more to date version is pretty much exactly the same? So you'll be handing over your old console + cash for a fancier safety case, bigger hard drive, and built in WiFi.. All of which you can remedy on the old xbox! As for places to go to... The CeX that's opening in Glasgow soon will be your best bet, generally speaking they offer the best prices(you can check the values on their website.) http://uk.webuy.com/ GAME and the like will offer you buttons since yours is an old model(around £30 if your lucky)... You might not even get that since its unboxed. All in all your best bet is trying to sell it on Gumtree or something.

PSN Issues?

No problems here..
24. Not really.. They used to be good back in the PS2 days but these days their prices are just as bad as GAME's, even their trade in's rates suck now.. Also given they closed their Clydebank store i'm assuming all is not well with them either. As someone else said digital downloads(PC mainly) and online stores are wiping the floor with your brick and mortar outlets.
