  1. There's examples on both sides regarding Liverpool mate. Their banner for Hillsborough at Celtic Park and their banner for the Ibrox disaster not long backspring to mind. I think that, regarding a match made in heaven, our red friends are out on their own. Think Badge Man.....
  2. I'll quote from your first link first;- "The religious division between the two Glasgow rivals is a very real factor that bears no comparison on Merseyside, where the two clubs grew from the same root". Dead right. No sectarianism in Merseyside football. I failed to make myself clear. I was referring to football as this is supposed to be a football website, no? There are plenty of bigots in Liverpool, but they tend to keep it out of football and save it for their pointless 'walks'. Orange and green. The tameness issue you raise comes from the lack of success from Everton recently. The mancs have succeeded the kopites and that's where the hatred comes from. Don't forget, it will be a lot less tame in Liverpool on derby day than in Glasgow for the forseeable future. Hope this helps.
  3. The usual shite being spouted about Everton and Liverpool on here. We are not sectarian in Liverpool. We never have been, and unless you can prove otherwise you really are showing yourself up as being a bit stupid. Save all that hatred of cities/football teams on religious grounds for other places. We aren't interested. We hate Liverpool For football reasons. They hate us just the same. Hope this helps
  4. It has nothing to do with religion Tommy. It's all to do with Rangers rioting in Liverpool in 1963.
  5. Correct. Definitely no sectarian connections. We are not bigots. There are 'bonds' and 'hatreds' with various clubs over various friendlies, including Everton's with Rangers (and some of your older supporters will be well aware of the games I have in mind), but we have no connections at all with you. Or with Celtic. And neither do they across the park. We are founded on football lines, not religious or political ones. Hope this helps.
  6. I might have said this before, but neither Merseyside club claim any connection with Celtic or Rangers. We do not exist, and never have done, on sectarian lines. Feel free to prove me wrong but you are just not telling the truth.
  7. I wrote on this forum a few weeks ago that Everton FC and Liverpool FC have no religious/sectarian connections at all. Bigotry and religious hatred do not have a place in football. Harry Ross is the "vicar dude" in the church at the corner of Goodison Road and Gwladys Street. "St Luke's Church is an Anglican church in Walton, Liverpool, England. The Grade I listed building is enclosed on two sides by Everton Football Club's ground Goodison Park. The church is located between the Gwladys Street End and Goodison Road stands of Goodison Park. The church enjoys a good relationship with Everton Football club and is the home of the Everton Former Players Foundation charity.[1] St Luke's also serves as a social centre for the club. On regular match days, the church opens up two and a half hours before kick off for supporters to come and have a cup of tea or just a sit down. Everton do not play games early on a Sunday to avoid clashing with the church's regular services. The church has a remembrance garden, which backs onto the Gwladys Street End Stand. Here ashes of Everton fans the world over are sent, and scattered, or in some instances, shrubs and plants are planted. Plaques are made representing all those whose ashes have been sent in. Local Evertonian vicars also have their ashes scattered in the remembrance garden in St. Luke’s".
  8. Fair enough pal. We're genuinely mixed, and both clubs, like it or not for anyone, were founded by methodists. We're from the same root, although they've grown all rotten and skanky!
  9. It may be more accurate to say that Liverpool were originally entirely made up of scotsmen. I think my previous answer above answers whether you said if 'Liverpool or Everton were any'. You clearly said that Everton are the predominantly Catholic club in Liverpool and have been throughout their history. That's wrong and you now know it is. If you ask nice I'll tell you why we sing about throwing Rangers in the Mersey with the Kopites. Here's a clue;- there's no religious connotations.
  10. You're right mate. Sorry. Maybe sectarian is a strong word, but religion plays and played no part in Everton or Liverpool's history. The quotes below suggest some sort of obsession with religion. It has no place in football, do you not agree? "Everton are the tarriers of england hate them with a passion also sing there song about rangers and liverpool" "everton are the prodimently catholic club in liverpool have been throughout ther history as a said they have a song they sing about throwing rangers and liverpool fans in the royal blue mersey"
  11. You need to talk to some Everton and Liverpool supporters pal. There are a lot of orangemen who support Liverpool and there are a lot of orangemen who support Everton. That's because there are a lot of orangemen here. There are also a lot of Catholics who suppport Everton or Liverpool and a lot of sikhs and others too. We are a football city and religion plays no part in who people support. It didn't at the start either. It was a geographical thing back then. Unless you can back your statements up about Everton (and Liverpool), particularly about something as irrelevant to football as religion, don't make them.
  12. I prefer 40 years of watching Everton, and of having blue and red mates and not once being interested in their religion. You should try it. Is this the normal standard of your posts mate? Send me an article that tells me that Liverpool are a Catholic/Orange club, or that Everton are a Catholic/Orange club, and I'll show you an author with a religiously bigotted agenda. For the avoidance of all doubt, Liverpool and Everton are not, and never have been, sectarian.
  13. Where do you get this "knowledge" from mate? Only, I've been an Evertonian in the city of Liverpool for a long time and I can tell you that religion is not a factor here. I know that it's the be all and end all in other cities but not ours. We are football people. We leave religious bigotry to the religious bigots. Liverpool are "close" to Celtic because Celtic were very good to them after Hillsborough. Rangers have also been good since as well. Incidentally, Liverpool were founded by scabs who wouldn't follow the principled stand that the rest of the Everton people took when they left Anfield! Read this mate;- http://www.toffeeweb.com/fans/beingblue/religion.asp
  14. A genius at what? Evertonian here. Ferguson might have played like God in Glasgow but he went missing all the time in England. The kopites called him the tampon. In for a week and out for a month. That's Duncan. Unplayable when in the mood, very rarely in the mood. Just a bully, sadly.
  15. I'm not having a go at you lot lad. I have respect for the decent Rangers fans. I am simply pointing out that, like us lot, you've been left behind. Show me where I am disrespecting you, or is putting an opinion across now showing disrespect? And the original question I believed I answered a while back. You boys need to move on now that you know the answer. All the best.
  16. Yeah yeah. Burnley attract players more easily than you nowadays. That's a fact of life. As I said before, more's the pity. You are stuffed unless and until you are admited to the English league. You have not signed anybody for about eight years! You have great support, just like us. But just like us you are getting left well behind. Proof? Look at the Champions League. Like us, you get in it then make fools of yourselves. To get back to the question, you have no association with Everton. you have no association with Everton.........................I would'nt want any association with everton!so there ye have it. So there's your answer. Close this thread and talk about things you might know something about. All the best lads.
  17. You couldn't get past Villareal! Who finished third! I can't even pronounce the name of one of the teams that whacked you in Glasgow this year mate!!

  19. Ha ha! If you know the history! You're the most successful club in the world, I forgot!!!
  20. Here we go again. There is no preference for Everton or that lot based on religion. We are not interested in Rangers at all. We couldn't base supporting a football team on religion. Never have, never will. Yours is an interesting site, but the sectarian stuff demeans you. Include the scousers out. Next thread................ We are not interested in Rangers at all. are you not a rangers fan then? No. I'm an Everton fan. Do you have a problem with that? I don't opine on things solely Rangers related but I feel duty bound to say something when it concerns Everton. Hope this helps. why are you on a Rangers forum?should you not be on a everton forum? I go on quite a few sites. Why should I go on solely Everton sites? To the others, I believe that we sing about Rangers after they caused a lot of trouble in the early sixties at Goodison. And to the gentleman who asked if I was here to see what a big club was like, you keep on believing mate! I love the passion up there but you aren't a big club any more, more's the pity. Hope this helps.

  23. Traditionally there was a close relationship, between the clubs, Rangers and Arsenal and also Rangers with Everton. No. Where do you get this from? There is no link between Everton and Rangers, Everton and Celtic, Liverpool and Rangers or Liverpool and Celtic. Not on religious grounds at all. Or any other grounds apart from normal fan's relationships. Where and when was this Everton/Rangers link? There is no 'tradition' as far as Everton supporters are concerned. Hope this helps I'm guessing you're an Everton fan? Any particular reason you're on a Rangers forum? No particular reason, no. Is there a problem like?
