  1. to be honest I hope to see some youngsters get a shot. but I think Kenny is in a no win position if he plays the youngsters and fails to get promoted then he gets slaughtered for playing them. if he sticks with the old timers and fails. then he gets the same shit.

A bit of a gamble playing the youngsters now when we cant afford any slip ups. Perhaps Kenny is giving them their chance now, knowing promotion will only be achieved through a play-off and that looks almost guaranteed. Will be good to see young Barry back I thought he was going to be a decent player and hopefully he's learned its up to him to screw the nut and grasp his chance.

  2. The ONLY person moaning on this thread is you.

If you could offer one solid football and tactical reason why KMc should be backed blindly, I'd be all for debate. But, as with McCoist, you can't offer any meaningful support, just a mantra that the manager should always be supported no matter what.

The club's position is too precarious for blind faith. Hence, I'll say it as I think it is.

Maybe its not blind faith just the reality of our situation,we need to give the manager and team our full backing.to help them succeed. You seem to have faith of a different sort that once a new manager is appointed improvement is ineviatable

There might be another reason a new manager was not appointed. The board might have only offered a contract till the end of the season with an extension if promotion is achieved. if players are leaving and no new players come in before the transfer window closes a new manager would be off his head to accept the job. Under current circumstances the Rangers job is a poison chalice..

    He has to say that.

The players are not good enough, its that simple. Tactics, formation, different training methods and bringing back players out on loan will not make any difference to our performances. The long ball will still be a big part of our game because we dont have the players capable of playing it on the deck.and unlocking defences.Hopefully we get off to a good start and we can go on a bit run,but it will be grinding out wins just as its been the past.

Actually for me on Saturday we went with pace up front and it was equally poor stuff, imo we needed the combination of short ball or high ball, in some instances when Aird or Smith got at their defence and miller& clark were picked up then the had to go back the way. Which left us all extremely frustrated and imo only when Boyd came on did we look more comfortable, might not be to everyones liking but I think having a bigman weeman combination always seems to work better. :pipe:

I dont think the long ball is a tactic we set out to use it just comes into our play as we continue to go knowhere with our build up play. You may be right about a big man wee man partnership but Boyd is finished imo.

  4. I was hoping he was only in the job until the new year.

If things don't change on the park within the next few games then the board must make a change, we cannot afford not to get promotion

Frightens me that he admits the players are good enough and he doesn't know what's wrong

    He has to say that.

  5. "Billy Davies is a Govan man like myself. Our fathers worked together in the Fairfield shipyard.

"I've watched his career and there's no doubt he has proved himself as a manager."

    - Sir Alex Ferguson

    Craig Brown

"Billy is outstanding as a football manager.

"England has been a hard shift for a lot of managers from Scotland, they have found it difficult but Billy has been successful.

"He has proven himself to be able to manage at the top level. He has managed Preston, Derby and Nottingham Forest and on every occasion he has been successful.

"Billy is excellent on the training ground, in team meetings, in the dressing (room) and his knowledge of the game - I have the highest regards for him as a football exponent."

The bitter Forrest fan admits in his post that some fans still wax lyrical about his time with the club.

  6. I would play him in midfield beside law. Just a big commanding defensive midfield player to bully in the middle of the park. Win the ball and give it to Law or Lewis to do something with it. Needs to be disciplined in the system and play simple short passes. Less of a liability than at centre back. needs to learn not to dive in and the notion that is in his head that he is Ronaldo needs to be dispelled very quickly. Good in the air and covers the ground well. Distribution needs to improve.

I would like to see him given a chance in midfield(away from danger) in a sort of Patrck Viera role :P He is a valuable player to have in the box at set pieces in defence or attack and would add a bit of dig. i totally understand why he gets stick he brings it on himself most of the time, intsead of doing the simple thing like kicking it out for a shy when under slight pressure,he will keep it in play, try to play football out of defence and end up losing possesion. He does look vulnerable when people run at him espescially quick breaks, again he should play it simple and just foul if he has to. It will be interesting to see where he ends up if and when he leaves.

  7. Many have been saying that Ally was picking the wrong players but there is not an obvious starting 11. Everyone has there own ideas on the best team,it will be interesting to see if Kenny makes any significant changes. I would like him to play Mohsni and McGregor at CB and move McCulloch into midfield for this game.

    Simosnen

    Foster McGregor Mohsni Wallace

    Aird McCulloch Black Law

    Miller Clark.

  8. When he came to Rangers I remember having a look on a St Mirren forum to see what they thought of him, the majority opinion was he was a decent player but would be no big loss, wonder if they have changed there mind on that now, What worries me is although he has been a good addition, you dont have to be anything special to stand out in this team. If a new manager comes in,he will not be able to improve us unless we bring in new players who cost a bit of money.

  9. Maybe so. It's refreshing at least to hear someone think about it rather than autopilot to McCoist's a cunt.

He may well be a cunt, but I just can't see it either. Something else is going through his head.

Yep, good post BB even though I dont sgree with all of it

  10. Sorry but a confidentiality clause is not a reason. He is guaranteed his money if he stays. He is guaranteed his money if the Board pay him off. If he has not signed a confidentiality clause at the beginning of his contract he can say what he wants now without fear of reprisal if it is the truth.

The only reason a confidentiality clause could be applicable is if Ally wants even more money to sign one. Kerching!!

Think I understand what your saying, its been a long day.

    Possible scenario

The Board have told Ally we cant afford to pay you off

Ally says o.k. I understand 250k and I'll get on my way.

There is no confidentiality clause in current contract.

    1. Do you think that would be reasonable of Ally

    2. Do you think the Board would find it a reasonable settlement.
