  1. What if the only stumbling block is Ally not signing a confidentiality clause, and is nothing to do with money, Maybe Ally wants the fans to know what's been going on, so signing one is out of the question for him. He cant just leave as he would be taken to court by the board for breach of contract. Not sure,am just guessing, but I think my guess is closer to the truth than those who think its all about money.Anyone see any flaws in this theory?

  2. The one thing that could put the board in a very difficult position is if he offers to walk away with no pay off, but no confidentiality clause, or else refuses to do a deal and sits out his notice period on full wages.

Would obviously difficult in getting this piece of info to the fans unless a 'source close to the board' released it to the press.

Been thinking this myself. If he has not sighned one already, cant see him doing so now.

  3. what is good for Rangers is to get mccoist to fuck away from ibrox. You wouldn't let the useless cunt near a supermarket never mind a transfer market. Mccoist is the enemy within,he is a godsend to everyone who hates us and is the single biggest danger to our very existence. We go on about legends and how they deserve special treatment well if you listen to that other cunt john brown "I couldn't care less what the fans think" that is what these guys actually think of us,we are a cash cow nothing more nothing less. The fact that non entities like foster.black, law and moshni have been allowed to abuse the fans and get away with it tells you all you need to know about mccoist and his merry band. I can't believe how easy mccoist has had it due to a mixture of apathy and his so called legendary status.

People saying a couple of weeks ago,we need to find the money to get rid of the manager even if we have to sell players to fund this. Now he has handed in his notice the same people are outraged that he may take some sort of payment to go, Some people are never happy

  4. Maybe you could explain why you don't share that theory, and perhaps you could sway a few?

I'd love to be wrong about him, I'm just worried I'm not.

its just my gut feeling. Other peoples instincts tell them different. I believe McCoist wants whats best for Rangers and taking the action he has is not for selfish reasons. Until we know more its foolish to speculate but being a fool I say he has maybe asked for some help in the transfer window, been told we have to sell not buy and he feels he cant gaurentee promotion. Maybe he's got wind of a replacement being lined up, maybe he's trying to force the board to be more open about future plans or maybe he's just sick of the abuse he gets. Dont think this will change anyones view as I said its just my gut feeling Ally wants whats best for Rangers.

  5. and therein lies the issue for ally now

We all know he could have fucked off on friday, told the board to stick their job and their payoff, and earned some amount of respect back

but by hanging on and after todays announcement, even if he does knock back any payoff whatsoever, many of us will still believe he only done this to save face after the shambles of fridays announcement

So no matter what he decides to do you have already made up your mind. You are convinced Ally is only interested in Ally a popular theory but one I dont share. Lets wait and see

  6. As an owner of a premier landscaping company myself, David Roxburgh is most probably the best guy in the UK at pitch maintenance. Bad move by the board as this man saved the club money with his knowledge on producing a great playing surface on a budget. Maintaining a professional pitch is more technical than you would think. Such a bloody shame what's going on at our club.

I agree, dont understand this move at all, very strange..

  7. I never knew much about davies other than what i've read, but looking at that video he does seem to be someone whom is willing to do a hell of a lot of work to succeed. If he's willing to do that amount of work for Forest, then what would working for Rangers do to him? I am quite concerned with his temperament, but he does look to me like the best candidate for the job at this moment in time.

Am not worried about his temprement. Its just a Govan thing ;)

  8. Scotland caps are cheap these days.

Unbelievable now that Alex MacDonald and Bobby Russell had one, yes just one cap between them yet stood out in our teams that included Greig, Jardine, Forsyth and Cooper.

Compare and contrast with Hutton who has 43 and Whittaker who has 28.

Cooper only had 22 caps. Unbelievable

  9. BBC 23/2/12

"(My job)... was to control the major aspects of the football department outwith the first team operations. These were to include recruitment, scouting, transfer negotiations and youth development.

"I wasn't in control of any of these activities despite constantly making it clear to Craig Whyte that this was to be my remit.

"I outlined my medium to long-term strategies for the club on numerous occasions to no avail.

"There's no point in being a director of football unless you can control these areas, so, in that respect I'm totally comfortable with being made redundant at this time."

    -------------------------------------------------------

    THE SCOTSMAN 25/2/12

There had been a widespread perception that Smith's return to the club as director of football did not necessarily sit comfortably with McCoist but the manager denied having a strained relationship with the former SFA chief executive. "I wasn't at odds with Gordon," added McCoist. "We had healthy, competitive discussions. We were not always in agreement with each other but we all wanted what was best for the football club."

I wonder if this is revenge time for Smith. Hope not
