Many thanks for the link. Perfect picture for the whole game and a perfect result.

That's an amazing amount of research to put that together. (magic) Hats off to the author.
A great wee read and very funny. May also prove to be near to the truth.

Sunderland put the away fans on an upper tier. Can't see that working at Ibrox. They would be throwing all sorts of junk down on us.

The OP is totally correct. I will never forgive and never forget. I'm glad so many of the SPL clubs suffered. So much for increasing their season ticket numbers. Hearts, Hibs & DUFC will all know the cost for quite a while.

The only benefit of 'the Journey' (which is what people will talk about in the future) was to the teams in the lower leagues. Some of them must have done very well out of our visits. Peterhead will have cleaned up due to being runners up in the Ramsdens Cup (thats what I call it) and plenty of other wee teams will have better facilities thanks to Rangers.
I suppose we could argue that we found out who was True Blue and who was not. We also found out that in Scotland we have next to no friends.

can rfc52 please be removed from the forum. My blue mask has not arrived yet.

a glass box at Ibrox. You are not really at the game. You can see the action and just about hear the crowd but there's no atmosphere.

I'm happy with the thought that Hibs will be spending a 3rd year in the Championship. They will still not have suffered like we did but at least a large group of people who thought it was great when we were voted down the leagues can now live through some hard times of their own. Next year they won't have Hearts or Rangers boosting their coffers so they will find it tough.
Here's hoping that Raith Rovers condemn them in a few weeks time and they hold on to their manager who deserves to suffer some more.

I see no reason to specifically include Ally in our celebrations. We are all grateful for the part he played getting us out of the Third Division but after that we had all the poor football to watch followed by the gardening leave fiasco so I think we just thank him and all the other guys who did their part. I think of Andy Little, Jon Daly, big Kevin Kyle and all those guys who were not great footballers but pulled on the blue jersey and did their bit getting us through the leagues. we have had loan players who played their part and lots and lots of backroom staff who have worked hard and suffered in many ways and now can see the light at last.

I do not normally buy anything green. Lots of blue of course. I did once as a teenager buy a shirt that was described as 'apple' and it was moderately green but only that once. Nothing green anywhere in my current wardrobe other than my Ferguson tartan kilt which has some green in it.

My idea of a total redevelopment (retaining the main stand of course) would be to turn the stadium round 90 degrees so there was room to have huge stands along the sides of the pitch. Make seating for 70,000 and lots of built in eateries and shopping facilities like a mall under 3 sides of the ground so it became a 7 days a week experience. Wouldn't you prefer to go to Ibrox than Braehead for the day?

I don't take much interest in the Scotland team and it's good that we don't have players missing.
Anyway I went off to the SFA site and had a look at the squad. Quite a lot of very ordinary players there and it's very wrong that good Scottish players playing in Scotland are overlooked. I would bet money that there would be two or three of our players in there if Ally had been manager.
Essentially Scotland's team for friendlies should contain Scotland's best players and best up and coming talent so it fails badly at that.
Parochial and biased, that's a good description of the Scotland Manager.

Its a bit of fun but I could write better lyrics. ( I do write the occasional song but never thought of penning a Gers song )
What would I call it ?
1. Back from the brink
2. the Blue Phoenix (rising from the ashes)
3. Stronger together
4. Black to Blue
5. SImply the Best (has that already been used) ?

I don't like it and it's a waste of money. I don't want to see our team linked with 'them' in any way. I no longer recognise the term 'old firm' either. We are not a pair of cosy cross-town buddies (unlike Coisty and his ginger pal).
I won't be ready for any banter until a good few league title flags have been added to the wall in the trophy room.

Stubbs quote re: loan player Stoakes
"The team is not about one player.
"Anthony's come into the team and it was always going to take a bit of time to get him up to match sharpness, but his performance on Sunday was better than he's performed up to now."
If he knew the player was going to take time to fit in why on earth take him on in the first place? Same reason he sold a decent if misguided player to septic, He does not have a clue what he is doing. Once they bow out of the Scottish Cup his future is sealed.

Championship strugglers Bolton Wanderers have parted company with manager Neil Lennon 'by mutual consent'.
They are stuck on the bottom of the Championship and heading for the drop. Serves them right for employing a diddy as manager.
-
very soon because Hibs will drop points. If it ends up being the home game at the start of April I'm abroad and will miss everything.

It's far better to be seen as the outsiders. If the ceptic players buy in to the idea that they have us beat already then it will be a nice shock for them when they meet the reality of our shiny team playing flowing football.
-
The statement about players is woefully wrong. MW has hand picked several players, some of whom he has know for years. Why on earth would he want a shower of high paid no-shows who can't beat a tiny team in Europe.
The article is written for their consumption and to give the great unwashed hope that in just a few weeks their team can pull themselves together.
While it would have been great for Martyn Waghorn to experience the game we are clearly able to score when he in not in the team and we have 10 outfield players who could put the ball in the net. Look at our bold Captain. 3 Years ago he could run all day down the wing but could never finish. Now he is a consummate finisher and I'm sure he will be aiming to pop one in when the semi comes round.

I agree that the Manager and the team should concentrate on one game at a time but it's ok for the fans to look ahead and pre-savour our defeat of the little green team. If we play like we did at the weekend we will be in the final and favourites to win the cup.
I really want the 'Ramsdens' cup as we will never get another chance at that one.
-
I genuinely think that their players will be very worried about having to play us. They will have to watch the Dundee game and that will have them unnerved and apprehensive. Their manager needs a victory to bolster his chances of keeping the job but he does not seem to be very good at managing a fitba team (or even scum like ceptic) and he will be shaking for the next month.
