  1. That'll be the celtic / Clyde 1 'partnership' doing the job it's meant to do in that regard I think. Same reason that talking about their abhorrent child-abuse history is a no-no on that show.
  2. I would have bought some to burn on the day we get handled the title :D
  3. Maybe he can put these flags and t-shirts on eBay.
  4. £250k could probably buy most of the players in Scotland from clubs outwith Glasgow. There must be at least one who would have improved that team of theirs.
  5. I refuse to accept that even the scum could try to class Duffy as an 'elite sportsman' and keep a straight face.
  6. So they got 'permission' and booked everything in mid November, but only then got around to ask/tell the league to move the fixture with Hibs on November 30th?
  7. Aye, the same SFA that let them move their game to go on said trip despite the opposition having said no. The scum might as well have another one of their 'internal investigations' (I'd argue that's what this is anyway...)
  8. High energy drinks for all that training they were doing, apparently. Might try that with my wife next time I come back shitfaced.
  9. Unable to verify the pictures of the beers. Jeez.
  10. Even Flash isn't getting to Alfie from there.
  11. Hibs and Aberdeen doing all they can to resist any sort of chance for a battle for second place.
  12. Bonkers. From the Beeb: "Motherwell have been awarded two 3-0 wins in the Scottish Premiership and Hamilton Academical one after Covid-19 breaches by St Mirren and Kilmarnock. St Mirren, who had games against Motherwell and Hamilton postponed, and Kilmarnock were both fined £40,000, although suspended until 30 June. It follows a Scottish Professional Football League disciplinary tribunal. The decision moves Well up two places in the table to fifth, leapfrogging Kilmarnock. Hamilton remain bottom but are now only behind St Mirren on goal difference. It is a second blow in a couple of days for the Paisley club after it was revealed that Police Scotland is investigating a report of "possible financial irregularities" at St Mirren Park. A league spokesman said: "We note the admission by each of Kilmarnock and St Mirren that they breached SPFL regulations and commend both clubs for the measures that their boards have recently put in place to avoid a repeat of the circumstances that led to the postponement of these matches in October." Both clubs admitted that they failed to observe physical distancing for seating arrangements on the coach and at the pre-match meal for an away game that led to positive Covid-19 cases in the lead up to their postponed games. Additionally, St Mirren admitted failing to provide suitable facilities to enable players to observe physical distancing at training and also accepted that players had been car sharing to and from training. Their matches against Motherwell, scheduled for 17 October, and against Hamilton, which was due a week later, have been awarded as 3-0 wins to their opponents, along with Kilmarnock's game against Well on 2 October."
  13. So rather than wait until January to sell their best players (if they could fund it, that is), presumably forcing this means said players can opt to walk from their contract? Any club who's spent money on new players should be laughed out the door when asking the government for financial help.
  14. "Morning lads - we've decided to sign a couple of new players on high wages. I'm going to need you all to take a 20% cut in your own so we can pay for them. Cheers. Now get out there and get a good result today!"
  15. Don't be silly - can't have him having to miss the cup games given all the work the SPFL put into them being played this year at Lawell's request. If they're forced to give him a ban, it'll be bumped until the easiest game they can get at home, with Clancy as the ref. Probably trying to work out how to get him to serve the ban during the international fixtures though.
  16. If that's Duffy going in on Kent in the next OF game, you just know that Michael Stewart will rave about it being a robust, yet fair tackle and that Kent made the most of it.
  17. From the Record: "Kilmarnock stars have been left stunned after their first-team was locked down for two weeks - to control their coronavirus outbreak. The Rugby Park outfit held discussions with Ayrshire and Arran Health Board on Friday and Joint Response Group officials after six first-team players had tested positive. It was decided on medical advice all of Alex Dyer’s squad should now self-isolate for the next fortnight. The players and coaching staff were informed of the bombshell news this morning. It now leaves the Scottish Professional Football League with a major headache. Kilmarnock are due to play Motherwell in the league on Friday night and then have Betfred Cup games with Falkirk and Dunfermline during the two-week self-isolation period. They now have to decide whether to postpone the fixtures or force Kilmarnock to play an under-age side. Kilmarnock vs Motherwell set to be OFF as Ayrshire club hit with coronavirus outbreak SPFL chiefs are due to meet this afternoon to make a decision on that front. The problem SPFL chiefs have is there is very little room left for additional games in the current calendar. The league did cancel celtic and Aberdeen’s fixtures after some of their players broke COVID-19 procedure but last month St Mirren weren’t allowed to call off and had to bring in Zdenek Zlamal on-loan Hearts because of an outbreak amongst their goalkeepers. The Rugby Park squad has been told that even those who had returned negative tests have to self-isolate for two weeks from Thursday." SPFL and SFA's Joint Response Group: "The Joint Response Group has received further information on the situation at Kilmarnock FC based on a meeting this morning led by NHS Ayrshire and Arran Public Health, and including representatives from the club, Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland and the Scottish FA. NHS Ayrshire & Arran Test and Protect Team carried out COVID-19 contact tracing following the six confirmed positive tests at the club. As a result, the club has been advised by the local Problem Assessment Group that the whole playing squad should self-isolate for a 14-day period. This is in order to minimise the risk of further cases in the staff group and wider local community and to support Test and Protect. The SPFL Board are meeting this afternoon to discuss the implications for Kilmarnock’s fixtures within that period and will issue a statement thereafter."
  18. Ah, cheers - the link I'd clicked said two were positive, so I took the third as having joined the fun!
  19. Bringing someone in on emergency loan doesn't even make sense to me - how do you know they've tested clear? With three of the team having it, each a few days apart, I'm surprised that there's confidence that there's not more with it anyway in the squad. What's happened to the whole idea of, if someone you're close to for a prolonged time tests positive, you self isolate? Surely the manager and some other players (and especially the goalkeeping coach!) at least fall into that category?
  20. The money mid-level managers must make by NOT being too successful is mental - especially the ones that seem to be in rotation in the EPL.
  21. "In December 2015, former Liverpool player Steven Gerrard hailed Ramsey as "the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League"." Think he's willing to take a drop of around £375k per week to come play in a backwater of a league? ;)
  22. Fair play to them for coming up with something unique to fill the seats with (I haven't heard of anyone else doing it, at least...), with the bonus of driving revenue for them at this point: https://www.leedsunited.com/news/club/26668/elland-road-crowdie-scheme-launches
  23. He done *exactly* what we needed him to do today - fill a position on the bench due to the injury to Jones (ahead of him in the pecking order, imo), then come on and do a job for us. He filled that bench position, came on and scored a very decent goal. I can't complain one jot about that, especially with our first teamers being somewhat shy on the shooting/scoring side right now - fair play to the guy.
  24. Apparently being able to report abhorent crimes against children and not being part of a massive cover-up isn't one of said talents.
