I seen someone say they are only 12 trophies behind us overall. Another 3 this year and it will only be a few years before they are the worlds most successful club. What a incredible state of affairs. 3 years ago the board promised to invest to stop their dominance. 3 fucking years ago. And we've suffered nothing but failure since.

We're tarnishing every other record on the park so why not rip up that too?

It would be truly devestating if that was taken away too. That would be worse than them reaching 10 but something makes me think they two records will go hand in hand the way it's going.

    It's fucking shite!

  2. The club and the board in the summer should have been setting a short term goal, a medium term goal and a long term goal both on the park and off.

For me this season was to take 2nd from aberdeen and close the points gap to celtic (within 15 points) and get to a cup final (preferably winning it). Not lofty or anything but progress and then you reassess in the summer and build on what you have done in the last year.

With the way the board are giving managers money (let's say 7 mil a year) it will take more than one season to build a title winning side. A decent manager would also speed up this process.

This is not finishing bottom 6. This is not finishing bottom 6 by sunday.

Half way down page one the guy who posted the thread said he was talking about being in the bottom 6 after next Sunday.

I was only really replying to that as it would be a bit silly to say we can't finish in the bottom 6 in November.

    Really?

    Tell me how not.

We have played 14 games and sit on 24 points. Hearts who are 7th have played 14 games and are on 16 points

Hearts play Ross County tomorrow and Hamilton the following Saturday with no midweek game as the 1st sheep game is a moved game of course.

So by Sunday night the worst case scenario would still have us 24pts and Hearts with 22pts after both playing 16 games.

We wont be lower than fifth unless st.johnstone win both their games this weekend and next and manage to have some crazy change in goal difference.

  5. They just do not care. Us losing or being continually humiliated does not hurt them or ruin their week. This isn't their hobby or their passion.

It will come and bite them in the arse one day and depending on this appointment it may be sooner rather than later.

    It makes absolutely no sense.

They should have had the list compiled and feelers sent out to their preferred candidates.

How many times does it happen when a team sacks a manager and a new manager is appointed within the week? It doesn't just happen overnight, I would suggest conversations would have been had long before they sacked their current manager. It's what efficient boards do. Ours stuck in the dark ages.

A full month has passed which included an international break which would have been perfect timing but not with our board.

There's not that many good managers out there. How hard is it to come up with a list of 4 or 5 guys and then look into their availability, affordability etc?

  7. Why the fuck did they sack the manager with no replacement in mind? Absolutely baffling.

Pedro was shite and yes his time was up but there is no doubt we are worse now than we were after the draw to Kilmarnock

  8. Thought the guy was really good today. He didn't stop running, worked hard and broke play up for the team. When everyone else took the their foot off the gas in the second half he didn't stop plugging away. No doubt he should have taken that chance but he knows that too and it was just fortunate that the rebound was taken by Candeias.

He has worked hard for the team ever since he joined and for me it's the kind of guy you need in a team or squad.

My personal opinion is I'd rather have 10 Jason Holt's than 10 Carlos Pena's or Josh Windass'.

I don't think any supporter of his is saying he's even the best midfielder in the league, but it must be seen that he has useful qualities.

Can’t see why not. Can’t be any worse than some names branded about.

Allerdyce would still be no1 choice though

I honestly think if you took 2 million out the budget for players (say spend 6 mil instead of 8 mil) and gave it too Allardyce he would still build a better squad and organise them better than Pedro!

  10. I think a smart appointment would be Nigel Pearson. You look at the job he did at Leicester. He built a big strong team that were hard to beat first and won games built on that platform. He's currently at a club called Leuven in Belgium so I doubt he would be looking for top money like Allardyce would.

I know ideally we should be looking for the best but right now there is a guy in Pearson with a good track record, would build a side thst I think Rangers fans would appreciate and i think would jump at the opportunity especially when you consider how things ended at Leicester.

  11. We know with this current board we aren't going to be competing for titles anytime soon unless celtic take their foot off the pedal.

Let's be real here though Pedro has been given enough funds to bring in his own guys and should ,with 8 million spent on transfer fees, be able to beat the likes of Hearts, Partick, Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

Tonight we were dreadful and as easy as it is for people to defend Pedro by bringing up the penalty miss they would also be ignoring the chances kilmarnock made and the complete lack of any direction PEDRO'S team had tonight.

This wasn't a defence of the board but more of a post to say that Pedro has been given enough to be delivering better results than he is even though we can't compete with celtic. The board have a lot to answer for with this shambles of an appointment. As other posters have mentioned, they took a risk when a risk wasn't an option. This is an appointment that will set us back another year.

So apart from that tonight Pedro's done a terrific job? Fuck sake wake up and smell the coffee

8 points behind celtic in October is not good enough and it never will be, add that to the worst European result in our history, pumped by celtic and humbled by motherwell in the cup. Oh aye its going well

And behind motherwell in the league now as well.
