betting on baseball in the NHL/NBA off season. such a random shite game. don't even get close

Started betting on baseball the last month or so myself. I've been actually doing okay if I stick to singles (4/4 this week).

At first it was quite tough but i've found a wee system that works and I've got time for it considering there's fuck all else sport to really bet on.

It could of been this season thats my biggest regret from this season

The MSM haven't reported it but the gap has closed considerably to them

And the best bit is that the point gap has decreased because of them declining and not necesarily us improving. If we get things right this summer by fuck we'll be right in amongst it this time next year!

I struggled to see the point in Jack until a couple of games when he was pushed further forward. It may have been when Dorrans was first out and McCrorie came in? Not sure, but he looked a completely different player and moved the ball really well.

Sitting deep didn't seem to be his thing, even if it was what his reputation was built on. He might be one to survive the summer cull as he has some versatility and isn't a complete shitebag.

Thinking that myself. I think if we were to play a three he would be one of the two ahead of the DM.

I never seen him as a holding midfielder as I do McCrorie or a fit (lol) Rossiter. More of a guy that can keep the ball moving and would be better at pressing the opposition rather than protecting the back 4.

That’s why I would fill the team with big 6 foot hard bastards. Just bully the fuck out the cunts. Kipre is an absolute must in the window.

Do what o'neil did with them in 2000. Build a team of physical bastards with two or three talents accompanying it. It would be the complete counter to what they have as it did with Advocaat's side. Get physical with them and win the battles first. It would also stop us from conceding stupid goals in other games.

Yesterday reminded me so much of when we beat them 4-0 at Ibrox in 2000 to basically wrap up the title just the emotions were very different.

  5. I would like our post match from yesterday. We deserve answers to what happened on that pitch yesterday and a fucking apology at the very least. Hiding from the media isn't hiding from the media. It's ignoring us, the people who pay their wages. It again shows the contempt people at the most important levels of our club have for us.

i would be quite happy with a new manager who used all his budget on a quality GK and 3 or 4 cbs who would be automatic first picks and some full backs.  we are/were top scorers in the league its our woeful defence that has let us down a lot, not just this season but the last 4 or 5

Exactly, it's not rocket science! We have the equal 5th worse defence in the league and the 2nd best attack in the league (were 1st before yesterday).

It's all about spotting out weaknesses and improving on them and the defence is number 1 on that followed not far behind by the midfield. Though I do believe once we get McCrorie playing in their regularly along with Arfield that will improve.

McGregor, for me, is an upgrade on Foderingham. I also think we need a full back in the mould of Papac who isn't as attacking as the other full back just for balance. Along with two good level centre halfs that will cost 2/3 million.

  7. Been calling for Pearson since Warburton left. Though I accept he's a bit looney at times the way his teams set up are exactly what we need just now. He'd have us well balanced, tough to beat and have a bit of fucking fight in us.

Instead we're going to go with Gerrard because I now genuinely think Dave King just wants to hang out with him.

  8. Holt is a player I cannot fault for commitment and effort. Gives 100% every time he is on the park. He probably knows his own limitations but it has never stopped him from putting a shift unlike a lot of others. Would genuinely be okay with keeping him as a squad player.

  9. We will win the league again. The board have made some howling decisions. Hiring Pedro and even firing Pedro as it showed they had no faith in their own man (though the right decision). Everything since then has been embarressing.

This new appointment is a huge risk though there as some pros to it. Gerrard is their man so stick with him. We need a focus and a direction of what we want to do and that'll take more than 6 months. I think Mark Allen is crucial to this too. Financially we are well off celtic so we have to be better prepared than them and for me chopping and changing every time the weather changes or we get one bad result does fuck all for us.

Outwith us you have to look at them. Every time they qualify for the CL it's a boot in the balls for us and we can't control it but it would help us. They have money just sitting their but that board from what I gather wouldn't continue to pay their players such high salaries if they weren't in CL cause it would cost them money. I genuinely think if they aren't in CL and we were going toe to toe for the title they wouldn't go wild with money (though I could be wrong).

As for their team, they have been with each other a long long time. Some of them were their when popcorn was. Today they started with 2 rodgers signings and one is a loan. My point being they know each other inside out like our 9iar team did but it doesn't last forever. Their team will start to split with players moving on and stagnation. I think in the league they have certainly stagnated at times. Fuck with 4 games left we could still matchmatically win the league and you half our points loss at Ibrox this year we are in amongst it. rodgers wont be there forever either and if he stays longer than we think his transfer record isn't exactly great.

Bit of a ramble this but I don't think we will never win the league or celtic will rack up 15iar.

I think he is putting himself on the scrap heap. All we can do is offer to help him with his problem but if he won't comply then it is down to him. I think he will be gone in the summer with some Rangers cash in his back pocket and his career effectively over.

Oh absolutely. All we can do if offer a second chance. If he doesn't take it then cheerio. I would rather we did offer him a second chance to show he can change.

  11. I hope he gets the help he needs and gets clean and comes back and we can try and get some use out of him. I know he's not everyones cup of tea but there's no point throwing him on the scrap heap for two years when we can try to get some use out of him!

  12. Spot on! Go use that ST money and go get us a good manager. It worked wonders for them with basically the same squad as you say. I'd much rather we spent 2/3 million on a manager than wasting it on 3 or 4 duds. For example, could you imagine what Walter would have go out of someone like Bruno Alves (I'm not suggesting Walter btw).

Despite looking a million miles away on Sunday we still can mathematically win the league with 5 games left which for how bad we've been is just bizarre. Though it could be argued celtic took their foot off the gas months ago.

The players performed and acted ridiculously on Sunday, but for me the standards start with the manager and we've not had a manager who has the standards we  have needed or need just now: discipline, hard work, character & dedication.

    WE are the Club.

Not the cowards on the pitch

Not the leeches in the Boardroom

But us,  the ones who fill the stadium week in week out.

To the majority of us we’ll always be more than just a Club that’s why come the summer thousands of us will hopefully be making our way into Europe and come the start of the season once more we’ll be back sitting where we always do amongst the same old faces hoping that this will be the season we really do get back to where we belong. And one of these times it will be. A few of the wasters out and half a dozen new guys with the right attitude and a manager with a modicum of tactical nous and it’ll happen...

See if we didnt all fucking hate each other we could run the thing ourselves:lol:

  14. I thought when the board hired Pedro that was the time to go for McInnes on a 2 year deal. He would have plugged the gap to celtic over that time up until the end of next season (18/19) and then we could have brought in a better manager to take us to the next step with an established squad and with two seasons to stop them getting 10 if that's what was needed.

Not everyone wanted him because they necesarily thought he'd stop 10 immediately but he would progress us closer to where we wanted to be because it is very difficult to find a quick fix. That also doesn't mean any of us are happy with second place. For me he was a better option than Pedro and despite their head to head results a better option than Murty was overall.

However, for me, you only knock back Rangers once and for an aberdeen manager to do that shows a complete lack of ambition and not someone we should associate ourselves with in the future.
