‘We have consistently urged supporters to show respect and not to chant songs that could be regarded as insulting to others - particularly from a religious or political perspective.’
Thats what the FA said at the time and a lot of the media coverage carried the tone of anti IRA singing could be offensive too many.
Much of the media followed the tone of it being wrong to upset IRA supporters.
Astonishing doesn’t do it justice.
"History is written by the victor" unless you're the IRA!

Where is Andy Watson & Jan Wouters?

I'd like to see if Steve Clarke can be successful at a club for longer than a year. He's done a fantastic job at Kilmarnock but he's been there 6 months. He also spent 18 months at West Brom and 1 year at Reading before shown the door.
I appreciate he is good coach and very well respected in the game but quite frankly, for me, he needs to have at least 2 or 3 good years at a club before he should be considered.
Despite the great job he is doing at Kilmarnock all this love for Clarke seems like flavour of the month.

This on hundred times over. This obsession with playing nice attractive football that a lot of people have is one of our biggest problems at the moment. I’ve always associated us with primarily being a hard working, well organised, defensively sound side who rely on having a solid base along with a couple of flair players to really make the difference. I’m not staying we should be crazy gang Wimbledon or Sam Allardyce’s Bolton but we need to get back to what have traditionally been and leave the obsessing with fancy flair football to that lot across the city.
Spot on, as you say we don't want to be like Wimbledon at their peak but let's get back to what made the club what it has always been about. Winning.
Now by no means am I saying we should be winning every game 1-0 (though I wouldn't complain) but we haven't won 1-0 since December 2016. Now for me something like this tells us everything we need to know about the club as a whole just now. The mentality at the club is wrong and it takes a strong manager to change it!

Pearson is a good shout. No nonsense manager who would strike a bit of fear into the dressing room.
I think he would have Rangers playing like Rangers too. Hard working, strong, tough to beat, and loads of character!

Not for me this time around just because I think the jump from St. Mirren to Rangers is one too big.
If he keeps up the job he's doing I can see the natural progression for him being a club like Aberdeen, Hibs or Hearts. Then I think we can really look at him!

Wanted to quit the game for a break. Would take him or Nigel Pearson.
Totally with you on Pearson. I've been wanting him since Warburton quit. I think he's in Belgium just now doing quite well!

I didn't expect his record to be that good in comparison to the rest. For me the loss column is still way to high for my liking, but then it is only one more in the same amount of games as Walter.

Could be worse bud, I had us, The sheep and Hearts as a treble yesterday, Actually thought it was nailed on as soon as I put it on, Genuinely thought we would bounce back after last week, Onwards and Upwards I suppose
Having us on your coupon when we lose makes it all the worse!!
I would actually have taken Killie +1 yesterday if I was neutral (been making a few bob off them recently) but you can't back against your own team.

One of those weeks where nothing wins
Played about a bit with cheltenham but won fuck all.
As for the football it's been pish and yesterday summed it up. Carlisle 2-0 up and made a complete cunt of it and drew 2-2. Had them with Accrington, Frankfurt and Millwall.
Then I had another treble Rennes +1 (won 2-0), Schalke (jammy) and Juventus Win to Nil against Spal and they drew 0-0.
One of those weeks but we carry on!

I'm no fan of Cardoso but I would much rather him there than Lee Wallace. As others have mentioned the worst part of his game is defending.

Based on these stats, even a blind man can see we need to either buy or promote some better quality defenders. We've conceded more goals than Hibs and nearly as many goals as Killie and the sheep ffs in the last 20 games! Nowhere near good enough defensively! If we can shore the defence up next season then we give ourselves a chance of winning something...
I totally agree with you! I'm one of these guys that believes defence wins championships and whether it is Murty in charge or someone else that backline needs some heavy investment. For me 2 centre halfs and a more defensive left back.
I also think our defence under Murty has suffered in 2018 due to the injury of Ross McCrorie who protects that defense brilliantly at times.
Usually stats don't show the true story but in the case of our defence they do. In Murty's 20 league games this season we have conceded 2 or more goals 8 times (twice vs hamilton) and had 7 clean sheets in that time (twice v aberdeen and partick). Our defence can be very volatile going by those stats.
I think any Rangers fan just now would never feel safe being a 1-0 up, we always need two goals to win matches. I think that's what Murty and Allen attempted during january by signing Murphy, Goss and Docherty and creating a system that has got Windass scoring and I think he deserves credit for that but against the better teams in the league we obviously need to be better defensively.

Think that adds much more context to his league record. Four points off celtic isn't terrible given how bad our squad/manager/coaches are according to some.
We lost a few matches in that first 10 matches (Hamilton, St. Johnstone and Dundee) that we wouldn't lose now.
I also had a wee look at the league table in the last 10 games (after xmas) and it has us a point behind celtic which was basically effected by yesterdays result!

If McCrorie is playing McGinn doesn't score that goal at Ibrox.
Exact same with Rogic today.
He would have mopped up at the 3rd goal as well.

Can you tell this is the biggest club he's ever managed with the amount of times he's asked about us now?

1 They have used the F word in many of their songs in the past so no problem with us using it imo.
2 We used to be up to our necks in the 70s so we have toned it down.
Fenian is their N word!

'Games we lost and should have won'
2-2 with tarriers and 1-1 with Valencia.
Is it not possible to believe that some of us feel a draw in a certain game is just as bad as a defeat?
I think many would argue that even drawing at Rangers is a loss depending on the opponent. A better defeat perhaps?
I brought up that 2-2 game because I felt we had lost it. A man up and a goal up. Anything apart from a win in that type of scenario against any team is a loss.

I got to my seat just before Ness scored and we looked good until they got the man sent off then they dominated us from then, can always remember coming away from that game so dejected at the point I effectively thought they would have the better of us for the rest of the season until the league cup final with the Jelavic goal as soon as we win 55 it will eclipse that season 10 fold.
Spot on mate! I remember feeling the same way after that cup game up until the LCF. That final really changed the momentum that year.

In terms of how the game was played rather than on paper (cause SCF 2016 still sickens me) one game that always comes to mind was the Scottish Cup tie against celtic in 2011 (Jamie Ness goal). 2-1 up at half time, they are down to 10 men and we just come out sluggish as fuck. Let them get on top of us and from memory we looked like the team with 10 men. They equalised and then later on Naismith got sent off. Complete disaster of a game that we should have been in control of. Even though it went to a replay this game really cost us a treble that season.
Both games against Bayern in 99.

Despite the cuntish name he is a pretty decent player.
-
Holloway is a bellend.
There's a reason why he's let a player that is 23 out on loan and sparingly used him in his own side: he doesn't rate him.
-
I think they're something like 11 unbeaten and are starting to get results against the better sides in Italy which Montella couldn't.
I watched them against Roma on Sunday and I was impressed. Mind you it wasn't pretty but they got the job done!
-
Tomorrow is a great opportunity for today's result to really mean something. Even if Aberdeen draw it's down to 7. I think we'll beat St. Johnstone and them Dundee midweek. Come back from the break them at Ibrox, win that and the pressure is on big time!

I think Brazil will get to the final and will play either Spain or Germany.
For me France will get knocked out by a second rate team like Portugal or Croatia. If they only played the likes of Germany or Spain every round they would win it. Weird cunts, very French.
I can see Portugal or Uruguay getting to the semis if they turn up. So aye I'm picking the European Champions as my dark horse!
As for a surprise team I like the looks of Peru. Denmark flatter to deceive especially after the result against Ireland. Potential last 16 game against Argentina who didn't beat them in qualifying and aren't looking great despite all their attacking talent. Also if Russia haven't rigged it I think Egypt can qualify for last 16.
