Not sure but guess he must be unwell or have personal reasons given he's not even on the bench and has been our best defender of late.
Hopefully not out for too long! I imagine MW will mention it before the game.

Just woke up and see the score. Might just go back to bed!

Because they knew Australia couldn't start with warner as he had been off the field. Du Plessis heard conversation with umpire and warner
Superb

Wenger still hasn't got out of the habit of sticking by really average players. Even tonight, he playing Coquelin over Xhaka and Iwobi over Oxlade-Chamberlain. Baffling.
Biggest game of the season for Arsenal so far. Tonight will be the start of the annual meltdown!

The Champions League is a strange competition to give your sub goalie game time in. Especially considering Ospina is utter shite.
Yeah I agree. Wenger seems to think he's decent. He's defended him a few times. Surely if you have to defend your keeper more than once you kind of work out he's shite!

Why does Wenger always drop Cech for CL games?
It's just to get Ospina game time.

I'm sure Barry Ferguson was quoted saying something about he will be buried in the top he wore the first time he was made captain. Can't find it anywhere.

If Broad isn't fit then I'd play Batty. Personally speaking I'd also retain Duckett over Buttler, but that's not looking like happening.
For me Duckett has got to sit this one out, he looks a walking wicket. I think Broad will miss this one, Woakes in for him and Batty for Ansari.

Wes
Tav Wilson Hill Wallace
Halliday Holt Windass
Dodoo Garner Forrester
Going for a 2-1 win.

That would be far too many bowling options. Not that Ansari should be anywhere near the side.
Would you go with the three spinners and bring Batty in or trust Root a bit more?

Buttler hasn't played in a year.
We have one major problem with the batting line up and it's this selection.
Could we push Moeen up again or is that a no no.
As for Bayliss. I met him at WOSCC and he was fantastic with everyone. Had a nice wee chat with him
Yeah that was mentioned. Bayliss did say he looks in good nick but I suppose he has to say that! Duckett can't play in the next test. He's a walking wicket. If Moeen is pushed up Woakes could come in and that way Broad, Jimmy and Woakes all play. Shortens the batting line up though. Tough decision to make!
He comes across really well in interviews. Can imagine he's a nice guy.

Hodson's been far from impressive. Asleep on the ball and cost us a goal. Neither Aird not Hodson have enough quality to put the required pressure on Tavernier.
Name a defender who hasn't cost us a goal this season. Aird is no better than what we have.
-
Caught a bit this morning. Seen Bayliss' interview after the game. Sounds like Buttler will be coming in for Duckett in the next test. Said Woakes could be playing in the next test. I think Broad will be rested in the next test. He could hardly walk never mind bowl by the end of this match.
-
He will probably play a couple of U20s games before being shown the door in January. Between Hodson and Tav the right back position is covered.

I don't doubt that Moeen is a capable batsman, I just don't think he's capable of the sort of innings that England will need.
I'm still baffled that England picked Ansari over Woakes tbh. He'd have done more with the ball and been far more useful with the bat.
Every time the pressure goes on Moeen he seems to turn it on! I would like to think out of Root, Bairstow and Moeen they could put up a bit of a fight. Not staying the will see out the day but would be disappointed to see another collapse.
I think it's just down to the fact he's a spinner. Englands line up on paper should be more than capable without Woakes. I feel for him a bit because he's never going to replace Jimmy, Broad or Stokes unless either of them are injured. Suppose the solution would be to trust Root to bowl more in these conditions.

This could be something to put in the diary for over the summer..RM Cricket lovers meet..??..
I wish we had the chance to play it at school..I actually have a bat pads and helmet..But like Creampuff said I am probably too old to try and play the game now..45 next Sunday..
Mind you I could always look for a local Club when I move down to the Nottingham/Derbyshire area next year..would be lovely to spend my Sundays pretending to be a Glesga Ian Botham...
As far as the India v England game goes..Whilst I hope they can bat all day and scrape a draw it won't happen...
Scotland really missed out on cricket. Sitting all day having a bevvy in the sunshine watching the game. What more could you want?
I went to school in England and Germany for a while as I had family in the Army. That's the last time I played it. That was 12 years ago tho! Would love to play it again but like it was mentioned in an earlier post it would be a bit awkward starting to play as an adult.

England's only chance of saving the match disappeared when Cook got given out.
Root's capable of hanging around most of tomorrow, but I just don't see who sticks around with him long enough to matter.
Moeen or Bairstow are capable. Duckett will be out inside the first half hour. Stokes isn't really known for being a defensive batsman.
-
Should be starting when possible IMO. He looks like he wants to get on the ball and make things happen. Him and Windass on the pitch at the same time could cause defences problems.
-
I would like to see Hameed stick around for a bit. Get used to these conditions. I'm not watching it but seen the score. 112 balls to get to 18 runs! Blockfest I take it?
I've never been to any of the clubs. Not played since I was in high school.

India probably won't want to bat too long. Cook, Hameed, and Root are a top order that could potentially bat out a significant duration of the match.
Thought that with the first innings then Cook gets done by a brilliant ball from Shami. Root gets Hameed run out then Root throws his wicket away. All of a sudden 3 or 4 down as Duckett looks like he doesn't fancy these conditions.
