  1. Need to look at it based on how much we spent, it's the reason why Kent is criticised so much From that list, Hagi & Roofe stand out, best part of 10 million there, we need players like that to step up & dominate up here & they simply don't do it anywhere near enough. Hagi especially, for how much he seems to be a fan favourite, his numbers are horrific.
  2. Would've been worth the risk if we had won the league, the fact we haven't means aye its been 1 season too long Personally, I think he'll either be forced into signing a deal or we'll lose him for nothing.
  3. Aye before today's news I think Morelos would've left and you're right, we probably get somewhere around 70% of his value. After this, I'd say it's more likely he signs an extension or ends up leaving on a free. No club is coming in with 8 figures for a player just back from a long term injury and an OP so either we take a lowball offer, we get him to sign or we lose him for nothing Shocking state of affairs
  4. Aye you need to give them time when things are going well or at least before we get to this point Lowry should've stayed in the squad around the time Hagi got injured. He'd already been playing & looked good. King I would've had in alongside Goldson when Balogun/Helander had their injuries but we persisted with Bassey at CB and Barisic at LB Weston is a bit tougher as we've always had options in Roofe & Sakala then brought Itten back in January, as shite as they are they're option's and no manager is playing a kid before them
  5. 100% agree but it's just not the way of modern football You throw King, Lowry or Weston in now for the remaining games/ Semi Final etc & you're just setting them up for a massive fall they'll never recover from
  6. If he got injured while at Colombia, they have to pay compensation for him while he's out 100% why Gio mentioned right away that it was a different injury...to the same leg...on a guy who had been struggling for weeks...
  7. He's shite, has had 2 games against them in the last 2 months and barely kicked his own arse in either?
  8. Well aye that's a very big possibility now No club is paying a big fee for a player returning from a long term injury in pre season, same with Hagi.
  9. If you believe the Lille offer, it was supposed to be around that figure and we knocked it back If anything, his European reputation is even higher now than at that point, the club will 100% be looking for that kind of fee for him Personally, I think we wanted Kent to sign a new deal & sell Morelos + a few others for our transfer budget. I think that will be flipped around now & we'll be pushing Morelos to sign a deal & depending on how bad this injury is, he might actually have no choice.
  10. Was about to say this, I think he'll be here next season now No big club is going to spend the 15-20 million we want for him after a 3/4 month injury.
  11. Think that's the main problem, it's complete role reversal now from the last 2 years of OFs We were playing shit in some of them and still winning, the zero shots on target game springs to mind & that's exactly what the taigs did yesterday, played shit and still won pretty comfortably. Hart made 1 real save, the shot from Sakala down to his left, other than that they had the better chances & easily could've had 3 by half time again.
  12. Without doubt there is blame at everyone's door for the mess we are currently in If Gerrard was still in charge, I'd be saying the same, there's no way they should've won the league this season & whoever overseen it needs to go. You can only get rid of players if we have buyers You can sack Wilson but the manager will always be blamed for the signings, whether they were his or not is another story. End of the day it'll always fall back on the manager, I wouldn't have been surprised to see him go this morning, I think realistically though he's got Braga & 2 games vs them to save his job.
  13. Well we were 4 clear before Gio came in & 6 clear at the winter break I'm sure? Gio gave us an initial bounce aftwr the Semi final and we went on a good run, he got rightly praised for it. We largely played the same way as he didn't have time to change much. Then we disappeared for 3 weeks, Gio had time to get the players into his way of playing & we came back to this horrific run of form, beat twice off the taigs & has now lost us the league Gerrard can be blamed for the Champions League qualifiers, the summer spending, the inability to notice where we needed fresh blood etc. Losing the league to them is on Gio.
  14. Actually seen that posted earlier aye, as it stands I don't see how we can stop them tbh, it's going to happen This season was just massive in the scale of our finances & being able to compete going forward, the only way we win next season is a complete collapse by them + us getting every single appointment & nearly every transfer spot on
  15. From the position we were in at the winter break, I don't think Gerrard and co would have let it slip, I'd even argue I think we would've beat Hibs at Hampden to get to the final aswell as that was as poor a Hibs team as you'll ever see. It took Gerrard time & aye we had post winter collapses under him but he & his team eventually worked it out, he had the beating of celtic + done enough VS the rest in the league to stay ahead. Gio has done neither & we don't have another 2/3 years to give him to work things out + we don't have the money for him to bring in all his own players...only to be sacked midway through next season! Doesn't matter who the manager was, if they lost the title this season to an unknown Aussie & a squad of players, most of whom had never played in the country then they deserve to be sacked, simple as that.
  16. 100% we need freshened up badly & I think we will be, either players not signing contracts as you said or just being surplus to requirements What they done though, the size of the rebuild, is something that 9/10 times won't work first season, the fact they've won the league during it will give us unrealistic expectations next season Unless we get a new manager who hits the ground running & who has a list of achievable players that we can get, its going to be very tough from this position.
  17. Seeing that list actually makes things a little better, don't actually realise how big the squad is! Would like to see Hagi & Roofe added to the list of players moved on, Helander too but only because he isn't the same player since his injury Tbh after this season, with the exception of Morelos, you could make a case to move most of them on
  18. Aye I tend to agree but I do think we need to keep a handful of 1st team players who can help the others bed in Talking to taigs this season, they've said their best players have been McGregor, Rogic, Carter Vickers and Hart...2 of them from the previous team, a loan and a freebie We need to shop smart, not just get rid of everybody and spend everything on who Gio (or hopefully a new manager) wants otherwise we're going to have another Cardoso, Herrera, Pena etc situation if it doesn't work!
  19. If we lose all of those players & I can see an arguement that all will go then you can pretty much forget about the title next season Aye we'll get decent cash for them, maybe 30/40 million if we're lucky but we'll have nothing left in the squad. For all the talk that the tarriers had a rebuild & they did, they still had players like Ralston, Taylor, McGregor, Rogic, Biton etc who had all been there for years & they still had their entire backroom staff. We'll have a much much bigger rebuild & have less money to do it.
  20. Not got an issue with a manager dropping points, it's the amount dropped and the way we've dropped them under Gio that's been the biggest concern. Our win rate since January is horrendous, enough to get any Rangers manager the sack & our performances have been boring at best. As for the team itself, nobody, including me, is giving Gerrard a free ride. It's clear this squad is coming to its end however even when playing shite Gerrard had us 4 points clear & in the cup semi, whether that was down to the taigs being worse than us is another thing altogether but he still beat them with a covid squad & I think we would've comfortably won this title
  21. Lol Gio is by no means exempt from criticism...puts all the blame on the players and none on Gio... 3 of those games I mentioned we actually took the lead and then sat back, something we seem to do more and more under Gio, we invite pressure and then the mistakes come. Compare us to them, they go out and batter the rest of the shit in the league by attacking, the games are usually done before the other team has a chance.
  22. Aye they've done well, especially for a new squad, no doubt about it But games like Aberdeen, County, Dundee United & Motherwell were all on Gio, that's where the league was lost. Game at their dump is fair enough, seen better teams lose there but yesterday again was on Gio. If we had done our job it wouldn't have mattered what their results were
  23. The only thing I could think of is it was their way of hammering home to the Aussie organisers that was the reason we pulled out Means if/when we get sued, we can point to us using the branding and that we actively push it Otherwise it was fucking embarrassing
  24. 100% aye & I'm pretty sure they took some amount of stick for it & if covid hadn't hit when it did I think Gerrard would've walked He went on to win the league & left us 4 clear this season with a squad that just won the league by 25 points... If Gio can't then take that squad and win the league VS a team with upwards of 10 new players, most of whom had never played in the UK then why should he be trusted to do a complete rebuild?
  25. Spent about 20/25 million aye & sold much more than that. If he'd done for us what he has for them we'd be calling him a genius. Gio had January, whether he had the funds or not is another arguement but he had a window & he chose to bring in Sands midway through & 2 panic loans in Diallo/Ramsey at the end He might well have his own ideas, he might fancy certain players etc. End of the day though if he was a semi competent manager he should have won the league this year. He inherited a title winning squad & has taken us backwards at an alarming rate...why should we trust him in a rebuild?
