  1. Very happy with this. More good calls than bad coming out of the club these days. Keep it going.
  2. I know they all fill different roles within midfield but, in my opinion, he’s behind Jack, Raskin, Cantwell, Dowell, Cifuentes, Hagi, Lawrence and Lowry. We would need an epidemic before he would even make the bench.
  3. Already corrected. Try to keep up.
  4. Think he means that five out of six trophies after taking on a club in crisis is some going. I know two seasons is a very small sample but, in terms of trophy win rate, he’s probably the most successful Old Firm manager of all time.
  5. My reservation is more about the length of contract than the unknown earnings. We've been stung before with long contracts and if, for whatever reason, it doesn’t work out, we’re left with him a long time. Even at 25k per week (my guess is that it will be more than that), that’s over five million but that doesn’t concern me as much as the length of contract.
  6. No, but a red flag and I’d have my “Butland oot” placard already made. Yellow flag means that I’ll give him a chance but that I have more reservations than the Sioux and Cheyenne combined.
  7. Slightly unnerved by a four year deal on seemingly high wages. Bit of a yellow flag for me but it may have been a condition we had to accept to get the deal done. Hope he’s worth it.
  8. Still be interested to see what his Asian signings in particular make of it. Anyone know the Japanese for : ”you dragged me halfway round the world then fucked off?”
  9. Scoreboard host away on holiday tomorrow with Flange by the sound of it.
  10. With his favourite dictionary and thesaurus tucked in beside him
  11. Think 55 might have finished him off.
  12. What was the name of that scum caller who tried to sound educated with big words and shite like “felicitations of the season, gentlemen” instead of Merry Christmas like any normal cunt? Was it Laurie from Dennistoun, that right? ”Er, aye, eh, er, aye…” Loved his calls
  13. Any update on the CB coming in (assuming Davies is going)? Trusty and Panzo were the names I think but haven’t heard any movement for a while?
  14. You challenged my logic so I explained it to you. Splitting hairs is a sure sign you’re struggling, by the way.
  15. 1. Asks for explanation 2. Gets explanation as requested. 3. “I’m not reading that”
  16. Er, did you read the post? Try again. Shocker?
  17. I’ve explained it already but you’re clearly not the sharpest Stanley knife in the tool box so here goes again. If you take over a hugely successful team in great form already serial trophy winners, how much better can you make them? The best, the absolute best, you can do is maintain the status quo. That’s if you don’t suffer a string of injuries, you don’t get new owners who want to bring players in that you don’t fancy, the teams you’re up against don’t get new owners with bigger budgets than you and seriously up their game etc, etc. In reality, you can only go in one direction, no matter how good you are or how confident you are. When, not if, you hit a bad patch and supporters/directors who have become used to success start pointing fingers, who will they blame? On the other hand, a club with good players and decent finances but who have struggled for a season or two are crying out for a hero, someone to restore them and potentially become a legend, as Man Utd did with Sir Alex. Sure there would be an appeal in taking over at a club that wins everything but I’d rather take on a challenge with potential and earn my success that way. All comes down to personal opinion. If you still don’t understand, I’m all out of clarification and explanations.
  18. Not really. Their only rivals have been poorly run with weak management, horrendous recruitment and were re-establishing themselves, having recently returned to the top tier and the advantages exacerbated further by significant financial strength. What they’ve achieved sickens us but, if you try to look at it objectively, it is consistent with the comparative circumstances at the two clubs.
  19. Personally I’d always take a project. Whoever follows Pep will really struggle to match, let alone surpass, what he’s done. And anything you do achieve will get “aye but look what Pep left him, couldn’t fail…” Chelsea have the potential to be top four every season with the right manager who would be idolised if successful. All down to how you see it, I suppose.
  20. Stupid answer, more like. A job you can only fail at or a job you can only do well at. Complete no-brainer. Same reason people didn’t want to be the man after Sir Alex. They wanted to be the man after the man after Sir Alex.
  21. Would you rather take over a team at the top who can only go in one direction or a struggling side that you can turn around and be a hero?
