  1. Still plenty in this game. Arfield has improved us but we need to press more.
  2. His conspicuous presence at our match while Gio’s P45 was getting printed was pretty classless.
  3. “It was an open secret” Billy McNeiil. He could lift the European Cup but couldn’t lift a phone. 😞
  4. I think they are all certain to go and I’d probably safely add McLaughlin too so we’re looking closer to 150k imo. Setting asides fees for the moment, that represents five first team starters (upgrades) at £30k per week. Or six @ £25k. We’re just kicking this around but there will definitely be scope to offer very good contracts if we can only find the right players.
  5. I’m as guilty of hyperbole as the next guy but the journey from “grudging but fair credit for his signings” to “wank themselves into a frenzy about how good he is” better include complimentary tea/coffee and at least two toilet stops. In fact, that’s not a journey, it’s an epic fucking odyssey.
  6. Possibly not but you get the point. Wouldnt lose sleep over any of them
  7. Has anyone estimated how much our wage bill will drop if the following leave, as expected? McGregor McLaughlin Davies Yilmaz or Barisic Helander Davis Kamara Arfield Hagi Wright Kent Morelos Roofe You could potentially add Lundstram to that list (please, please). Thats a lot of weekly wages to fund five or six superior players if we can find quality out of contract which might be the tricky part.
  8. Worth remembering that, if we get through CL qualifying, we will be seeded higher than the scum, which should mean a better Pot in the draw. Doesnt guarantee that we won’t get six humpings, mind.
  9. Not suggesting that they’re similar in style, mate - just meaning that playing Tillman as a striker or even a false 9 would be a wild card move similar to Walter throwing Cousin in.
  10. Got to be worth a try although I am so fed up with Kent I would almost risk Wright (for his pace) on one side with Sakala on the other. What we don’t need is a “continuity” option
  11. Said this more than once before. He’s tall, good in the air, has a great touch and could easily play up front. I think that’s where he’ll ultimately end up playing most of his career. We need something different for this game, like Walter drafting in Cousin out of the blue. If we stay with same old same old, the outcome is inevitable.
  12. Spot on. Not one player has been even 7/10 consistently. Our run of results since Beale came in disguised just how mediocre we’ve been. ”2022/23 No Player Of The Year Awarded” 😔
  13. 30 year old Greek right back? Replacing Tav our biggest priority right now?
  14. City supremely talented but, by God, they work fucking hard too.
  15. 4 or 5 million for Stewart or 7 million for Kouame? Mmmm, let me think about that
  16. Based on Kouame’s stats, I’d rather spend the money on Stewart
  17. Looks talented but a little lightweight. The thought of him, Cantwell and Tillman trying to dominate the space in front of Raskin worries me. Would spend most of his time asking in vain for fouls.
  18. Did we test the market? Did we draft up both person and job specifications? Did we hold discreet conversations with headhunters specialising in football industry? Was our questioning more thorough than “right James, are you game?” This smacks of a bowling club mentality where auld Tam (85) dies and young Tam (84) gets appointed as his replacement. If Bisgrove supported the Ange Tribute Roadshow, then that monumental lack of judgement or understanding is reason enough on its own to exclude him from consideration.
  19. Unless, of course, there is a final to come.
  20. Still find our complete avoidance of Asian and Scandinavian markets disturbing, especially when the team we’re trailing continue to pick up gems at very reasonable prices.
  21. McGregor Tavernier Souttar Davies Barisic Lundstram Raskin Hagi Cantwell Kent Sakala I like Tillman but he’s a passenger in these games, his time to shine against the scum will need to wait. Won’t be surprised to see Arfield and/or Wright feature He might even try to harness Matondo’s pace on the break. Would really like to see someone (Hagi?) detailed to keep McGregor out of the game. He plays between the lines, is always available and he makes them tick.
  22. Big Dado and “Marcus Da Beasley” as I kept calling him
  23. Used to think that we needed someone like a Stuart McCall in that set up to drum into them the history they are disrespecting every week and why anything less than a hundred percent is unacceptable. ”We need a real Rangers man in there”, I convinced myself. Well the scum got a guy who couldn’t find the Glitterdome on a map of Parkhead and, with zero connection to their rancid outfit, he’s making it look easy. Beale has reached his level of incompetence in my opinion and is now a rabbit in the headlights, frozen as the threat looms larger all the time. The only consolation is that it doesn’t need to take three or four windows, it can turn quickly but the surgery has to be deep and extensive. All we’re doing right now is aimless drifting.
