Marcus Berg set for move to PSV...

Swedish striker Marcus Berg is set to complete a one-year loan move to PSV Eindhoven from Hamburg.

Both clubs have agreed a loan fee of around £800,000 for Berg's services, but are waiting on the player to fully approve the deal.

The 23-year-old was one of Europe's hottest properties last summer following an outstanding campaign for Dutch side FC Groningen and won the player of the tournament award in the Under-21 European Championship.

A £9million move to Germany followed, but he failed to recapture the form that saw him become so valued and scored four times in 30 Bundesliga matches.

Berg fell down the pecking order at the Imtech Arena, but manager Armin Veh insisted that they wanted him to return to the club after gaining some experience, with the player still under contract until 2014.

"We have good quality up front," Veh told Sport1 Television.

"It will be just reasonable to see him come back to our club after picking up plenty of first-team experience elsewhere

Couldn't displace the Petric and RVN partnership. Shame really as he was a good goal scorer before moving. 4 goals in 30 is quite poor though.
