Jasper 157 Posted June 12, 2011 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Whenever I have headphones plugged into my laptop, sound comes from both the headphones and the speakers. When I open up playback devices there is no headphone listed there, "speakers" is the only thing showing. Now, when I first got the computer, evertime I plugged headphones in I got a pop up box, I dont remember what it was/said but it had something to do with sound. I must have disabled it, cause it no longer pops up, and since then ive had this problem. Anyone have any ideas as to why its doing this? Or how it can be solved? jim89 342 Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 I had the same problem with my laptop. I fixed it by going to Control Panel > Hardware And Sound > Sound. Then setting the headphones as the default device. But if your headphones aren't even showing up i have no idea.
