ALAN HODGKINSON: The man who made his England debut against Scotland in 1957 but then ended up coaching Scotland's goalkeepers under managers Andy Roxburgh and Craig Brown. He was credited with helping Andy Goram excel but had his services dispensed with by Berti Vogts. Hodgkinson was regarded as the first specialist goalkeeper coach and worked with a number of clubs including Rangers and Everton.

His own playing career was no less successful, and he played 675 times for Sheffield United between 1953-1971. Capped by England on five occasions and was named in the England squad for two World Cups – in 1958 and 1962. Currently goalkeeper coach at Oxford United at the age of 71.
