TheMotor 2,208
You can bet your hairy arse the EPL and LTA are behind this......... BBC Story Sporting bodies are to put their case to the Commons Culture, Media and Sport committee asking for a share of betting profits to help fight match-fixing. But the Gambling Commission has looked into the case and is against it. It has told Association of British Bookmakers chief executive Tom Kelly there is no need to agree to the move. "What it has done is recommended we should co-operate more closely in the future and that's what we're doing," Kelly told BBC 5 Live. Cricket, tennis, football plus other leading sports are calling for a percentage of betting profits. And do you think the bookies are going to give up a slice of their profits for this? No way at all, this will be coming off your winnings or in the form of reduced odds. As if the poor wee lambkins in the EPL need any more money... :angry2:
