Whats the Crack with payed games testing?

I keep hearing stuff posted all over the internet about getting payed to test games.

basically (if its true?) you get games sent to your house, which you test for a while, they pay you, and send more games...

Seems to good to be true, can anyone help me on this?

Companies do send you games, but mainly any and every game.

You could get sent, BARBIE: PRINCESS REVENGE, and you'd have to play EVERY part of the game, testing anything that could wrong, literally doing everything you can. :P

They don't pay you to choose a game you like, complete it once and send it back :craphead:

- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to take direction and effective listening skills

- Ability to troubleshoot and fault isolate, sometimes within severe time constraints

- Sharp attention to detail, highly analytical

- Aptitude to learn quickly and effectively

- Excellent organizational skills

- Willingness and ability to remain focused in a driven, high pressure, team-oriented environment

- Intermediate PC software/hardware knowledge

- Microsoft Word and Excel competency

- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent

Desired Skills

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent

- CS Degree or equivalent

- Advanced software/hardware knowledge

- Prior testing experience

- Experience following testing processes and methodologies

- Familiarity with all phases of the software product development cycle

- Understanding of QA measurement/metric techniques

Primary Responsibilities

- Identify and isolate issues with pre release software

- Report and Track issues

- Verification of fixes

- Regression testing

- Stress testing

- Work with other testers, engineers, lead testers and manager

- Prepare/execute test scripts

- Evaluate test coverage

- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project deadlines

- Qualitative Feedback, including evaluating content and suggestions for improvements

- Verification and proofreading of product manual/documentation

- Undertake research, including competitive analysis

Secondary Responsibilities

- Determine appropriate test strategies

- Verification of specified product goals

- Assist in training of newer testers

- Identify risks to assigned area

- Provide input to test schedule

- Identify improvements in test process

doh Would be $11 an hour, so around £5.50 an hour.. .40-70 hours.. average wage at 40... quite good at 70.

if you check out the minimum salary in america its about $4-$5. Although someone from america better confirm this as i think this was back in 2002

Exactly, i was talking to a waiter in new york and he said he was making $3.50 an hour , that was in NEW YORK..

Haha $11 is pretty good to them, as they have a cheaper standard of living too.
