Gazzas_Flute 11 Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 Anytime I start up my Laptop ( Running Vista Home Premium ) and try to log on it just comes up a black screen. I manage to get it going ok by running Task Manager > File > New Task , then typing in explorer. I've tried Msconfig etc but nothing has worked so far , any help ? The black screen during installation is caused by the display being turned off and not turned on later during installation of display adapters. Since it's a laptop, connect an external monitor or TV to the VGA port during installation. This may solve the problem of black screen during installation.
