papaguy51 941
I rate Papac very highly as a defender and having one full back who can defend is vital, especially when you think of the number of goal line clearances he has made. I do not like the idea of 2 full backs being caught up the pitch, leaving the central defenders exposed as we saw so often in PLG's time. Just because a natural fullback would be more attacking doesn't mean that he would always be 'caught up the park'. A natural fullback, by trade, would probably be a lot faster than Papac too. All I'm doing is looking at Bosingwa and Cole at Chelsea. I know we don't have as much money (before anyone says it), but what interests me most is the template of that system. We're going to have Thomson, Mendes, Ferguson and Davis in that midfield shorly. If we're wanting width, it's going to need to come from the fullbacks and I just don't see Kirk or Sasa as the answer to that, simply because they're two centrebacks. I like them both individually, appear to be great guys, but we need to do what's best for the team as a whole.
Gaffbear 4,174
we need a right back too. Broadfoot as centre half cover as he's still an accident at right back
