Jimbo. 952 Posted August 6, 2009 Share Posted August 6, 2009 Bassong 'has medical at Tottenham' Tottenham are set to seal the capture of Sebastien Bassong from Newcastle, with reports claiming the defender has already undergone a medical. Bassong: Set to make move to Spurs Bassong made it clear earlier this week that Spurs were his preferred option, after he was also linked with the likes of Manchester City, Everton and Arsenal. The north London club have now made their move and the 23-year-old former France Under-21 centre-back - who looks set to pursue international football with Cameroon - could sign in the next 24 hours. Bassong only joined Newcastle last summer from Metz, and despite their relegation from the Premier League, he emerged with a huge amount of credit after a string of impressive displays.
