disgruntled_bear 157
just more lies and you have to apply for planning permision. Do you know they haven't? someone i know who works in the place said there has been no application, i can only repeat what i was told. I always thought Rangers had planning permisson I'm sure SDM bought the land round about Ibrox, when he had that bid in for the SuperCasino

Do you know they haven't? someone i know who works in the place said there has been no application, i can only repeat what i was told. Maybe that's because they haven't taken a decision yet. I've been told they've had surveyors, engineers and architects looking at the ground and the steel work in the corners and all the roofs. I don't know if that rules out a whole new stadium, or they're just considering all options. Personally, I'd favour a redevelopment of the corners and new one-piece roof, leaving room for further expansion, such as a small third tier.

Adam 0
you need a plan to be able to apply for planning permission, I thought SDM said he was looking into all possibilities before making a desicion then telling the fans? think a few are jumping the gun, this will take ages! Bluedell 14
The actual quote was something like "we hope to make an announcement as soon as early May if certain factors can be finalised." I believe that if we had won the league then we would have heard something. Everyone would have been on a high, and a majority would have therefore bought into the plans. Not winning it cocked everything up , hence the delay.

PeteLove 0
I understand that at long last some investment in the stadium will be visible for the start of next season. These include new dug-outs with Recaro seats, new LED style scoreboards (and possibly screens), as well as the digital style trackside advertising boards. Can anyone else confirm this? One definite is an extension to Bar 72 seating at the Carling "ash trays" at either end of the existing Bar 72 seating. Lifted from FollowFollow this morning... looks like this is the only news on ANY redovelopment so far.

Now I'm not a 100% sure about this Minstral but if its only minor alterations to the inside of the stadium, such as an extra row of seats here and there, I dont think we would need planning permission. It would most likely be just a building warrant. Maybe someone more enlighted on this subject could let us know!
Mikhailichenko 90
id like to see a new stadium Could you expand on your reasons for that BK? I would like to see Ibrox keep its current shape with maybe an extra tier on the Govan stand.
minstral 5,375
murray said himself that he has to lodge an outline planning application, followed by a detailed application, and i have been told that he has not done anything at this moment in time. Eric_Caldow 60
I don't understand some fans being annoyed about the delay in an announcement. As Ibroxblue pointed out, this information somehow came to the attention of a sunday rag and Rangers had to put out some kind of statement. The fact that they said they were looking at various options for stadium redevelopment doesn't mean they were trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. It just might have meant what they said. If, as has been stated on here, that builders or architects have been in to survey the stadium then I for one am quite happy to await the outcome. I just don't see why the old snide remarks about Murray should be plastered all over this thread when he is already doing something about the matter.
