If those two signings didn't involves some sort of backhander to someone then I just have no explanation. I consider it a free hit in the sense that expectations of getting anything there are low given our squad status... PC is building something really good here but with a squad so decimated by injury expectations are, to go there, give a really good account of ourselves and leave everything out on the pitch. I know the Lundstram thread isn't the right place for this but I have been scrolling through Twitter this morning and seeing the absolute deluge of noise about the penalty and Red Card last night when both were absolute stonewallers has really pissed me off.... It is coming from the Mainstream media, from the fringe lunatics of every club, its coming from everywhere and it is utter lies and nonsense. For celtic to have had zero penalties against them domestically this season and be on the same penalties awarded as we are and yet ALL the complaints being about Rangers just shows how successful their propaganda is.... When the Ref saw that tackle last night he KNEW it was a Red, you could tell he knew by the way he gave the yellow almost in a. way that was like "I am giving you this for now but will see what VAR says" its an abdication of responsibility and he is understandably terrified to make the call as he knows he will be hounded... The Authorities have to put a stop to this. Even the managers (Barry Robson on Sunday and Craig Levein Last night) are saying that there is nothing untoward going on.... even some of the managers know enough is enough

It’s not hindsight. Most wouldn’t have let him go. Was a weird decision at the time. Was fantastic today and he might be in a unique situation where he has been forced out the door and thought it was over but has been given a redemption arc. Will be nice to see him win the treble.

Listen. The nuance here is that if Cantwell is not following the managers orders and that is causing our team to underperform then Cantwell should be subbed. But as bad as Cantwell was and as much as he was cutting in instead of being a different type of player, he still wasn’t as bad as Cifu and Lammers. for me that’s the problem with the substitution. In the first 20 minutes Cifu should have been off as it was absolutely obvious he was miles off it. He looked like his legs were made of string and couldn’t pass a ball. That would have been one message to send. If that didn’t work then, as has been almost universally agreed on here, McAusland on for Lammers with Cantwell going central. In 6 weeks of football PC has refused to put Cantwell in his preferred position. A preferred position that the manager acknowledges openly that he knows is his preferred position. He has had alternatives for right mid/right wing. But he had steadfastly refused to put Cantwell central. Why? also in an interview yesterday he said he needs two DMs because he is using the fullbacks to get forward. Does that mean Tav wasn’t following instructions last night because it really looked like he had been instructed to stay back. He was barely involved in an attacking sense. Lots of questions about the whole situation last night.

Just watched that post match presser and I am seriously concerned about some of the stuff PC has said. He spent his first 5 weeks studiously avoiding dishing out praise because it was about the team. When pressed on individual player performances he said I don’t like to talk about individuals it’s about the team. Last night he was very quick to talk about individuals. “Todd didn’t do as I told him so I hooked him. I know he is not a right sided player but I need him there. “ “Cifu is not playing well” “Sima has had a baby and is not playing well” “Lawrence is making bad decisions” I don’t care how true these statements might be but as a leader you criticise in private and praise in public. He is doing the exact opposite. One guy he didn’t criticise was Lammers. I am not saying he should but if he is going to call out the poor performances of the above guys how does Lammers get a by? saying we have made progress because last time we played Limassol with better players we got beat is mental gymnastics. We needed a strong manager and the first 5 weeks I thought we had the real deal. Last nights performance and comments are a source of concern. The players are rightly taking a tanking because they are weak minded losers but this manager needs to piss with the dick he has got and I don’t think throwing them under the bus is going to get the best out of them. Fingers crossed he knows more about getting a performance out of modern footballers than I do

Totally agree. Just saying Cantwell is not innocent in this. I completely disagree with Clemente man management of this. But if Cantwell knuckles down after this and is turned around then PC got it right. I doubt that it will turn out like that though.

It’s an ego thing. PC wants him to check his ego. Frankly with his dive on Sunday and his petulant nonsense in recent months I can see why. I hope it works. But I doubt it will. I don’t think that is how you manage footballers anymore. But time will tell.

Genuine question. Although I agree that as a team our performances improved after PC’s arrival, which individual player has improved under his management? McAusland could be one answer but he is just being given game time so we can’t compare his performances. But which other player has individually improved ? Lundstram?

Last season he was being celebrated for those tricks. Midfield and Center halves should be more than capable of preventing a goal from that loss of possession.

Cifuentes looked weak at the knees every time the ball came to him. He was absolutely shitting himself. Lammers barely resembles a footballer, he hides constantly and cannot do the basics. That he is a professional footballer would suggest that he has ability but it is clear the weight of the jersey is too big for him. It is 100% mental fortitude thats our issue. These players have more ability than Limassol, Aberdeen, and the majority of SPFL sides but they fall apart in front of an expectant Ibrox.

But more than that. The manager humiliated him. He also has NEVER thought to try Cantwell centrally. Why not? In his first presser he was asked about the Twitter spat between Cantwell and Sutton. His answer was social media is part of the game but you have to wonder if he took a mental note to try and bring Cantwell into line at that point. Cantwell said in a podcast that he doesn’t know why he is on the right”the gaffer must see something”

These players are imposters. No doubt. I would be delighted to get them all to fuck. But they have ability. They have shown it in glimpses and it is a managers job to bring out the best in players. Some players need a boot up the arse. Some players need an arm round the shoulder. The fact we got a “new manager bounce” shows that these players can do it when properly motivated. So why is it the last two games we have totally reverted to the same dross as we were seeing under Beale. I got shot down for saying this on Sunday. But tonight it was even more evident. We have players who will step up when they believe in the manager. And who look completely amateur when they don’t. There is a rot that runs through this club and I don’t know where the roots are but that group of players look like they could easily cost another manager his job unless he learns very quickly

Terrible terrible man management. In any walk of life. Cantwell probably finished here but fastest way to lose a dressing room is to throw your players under a bus

I am as pissed off with Cantwells petulance. Antics and silly TikTok dances as anyone but the manager came in and said he wants players to be brave and creative. Subbing Cantwell off for losing the ball while trying to beat players is poor management. Lammers and Cifuentes are the worst players on the park they should have been off before Cantwell.
