  1. Do you think so? I don't think it is hyperbole to say our players look more interested and are playing with more intensity. Don't you think we are playing with a more obvious style of pressing and quick passes? Yes our passes are often not making their target but they are taking them on which they weren't before under the conservative manager. I didn't say we were sensational, which would be hyperbole, just that our players look interested and committed again
  2. Have you noticed that there is almost universal recognition on this forum that he was fault for the first goal and possibly should have done better at the second yet not a single media outlet or commentator seems to have mentioned it? In fairness I don't listen to many of the analysis programs but I would have thought I would have heard it somewhere if a pundit had said "McGregor was at fault for both goals" Is anyone saying it in the media?
  3. FFS.. are people really so miserable?? a month ago we had GVB as the manager, we were on a downward spiral with no spark and no light at the end of the tunnel. Our players had all downed tools, we had no pattern to our play, we were dropping points to the absolute dross of the league. In the last week we have gone out and played with intensity and purpose, we have a clear style of play that the players buy into. Many are reinvigorated and working harder than they have in months. Despite an horrendous absentee list, which has left us with almost no defenders, we have eke'd out victories over the two teams sitting directly below us in 3rd and 4th. Do we have problems? ... of course we do... are some players past it? Aye. Are some never good enough to begin with? Undoubtedly, but as I said when people were defending Gio, its about trend... we were trending downwards under GVB and in the last week we have shown signs of trending up. Could be a new manager bounce, might be early days to get carried away but all indications are positive and we should enjoy that while we can... I have recently moved to Aberdeenshire for work and my wee boy gets grief every day at school for being a Rangers fan... I am absolutely elated for those 2 late goals last night and no one is going to piss on my chips today
  4. Hasn’t played football in 2 months. Hasn’t trained much at all. Still put in 97 minutes and is running hard right up to the end. Thank fuck he was in there today instead of Lundstram. And hope to fuck Davies stays fit alongside him
  5. He was running all over the place. He did a lung busting run back to try and chase an Aberdeen breakaway and then was back up the field. His runs from midfield are his trade mark and that breaking of the lines is just as important as what Kent and Tillman do. It gives them someone to hit. He had two big. Janice’s before scoring his two and all 4 chances are created because of his runs and his anticipation.
  6. Em. And Arfield? And Goldson was all over the pitch in the last 10 minutes. I am not Goldsons biggest fan but he was doing everything to get more bodies into the box. Even operating on the right wing at times
  7. I did not see Devine as a problem at all. Given his age and playing out of position, he looked comfortable and actually dug us out a couple of times.
  8. Mate. Have you just started watching football? Aberdeen have, since the 80s, tried harder against Rangers than against anyone else. That’s not a conspiracy. It’s just fact.
  9. Callum McGregor had more touches in that game than THE WHOLE aberdeen team Dont think for a second that the same team played against the scum as played against us tonight
  10. Flip side Devine I thought looked very composed for such a young player. Nowhere near as bad as some said. Kamara was playing better than he has. Sakala may not be the best but he never gives up and he chips in with some goals. Kent is looking hungry again Goldson was almost an auxiliary right wing at the end there. Why an engine he has. Arfield. Well. What can you say. He just was not having a loss he was like a man possessed Beale, bold subs and the right ones. Should have made two at half time but at least he made them shite in the middle 30 minutes of the game and a lot of that was on Sands and Jack, lucky to switch off for 30 minutes and still get a win but sometimes you need the luck. of course it also goes without saying that that was Aberdeens cup final. They were absolutely fired up even more than usual.
  11. Think he should return to his parent club. Filled a gap but needs to go now
  12. Davies needed to come on for Sands Lundstram needed to come on for Jack but we were chasing the game and two defensive players is no good. He wanted to get Arfield and Wright on to go at their defence. It’s logical to take off Sakala and Kamara.
  13. we were shite in the middle of that game. But we were by far the best at the beginning and the end. We weren’t near as bad as some were making out. not great but it’s another characterful win with a makeshift team. Sands should be done now and if we could find any keeper in January I would spend any money we have on one
  14. How, in 16 years of being on this forum, have I still not learned not to come into the match thread
  15. I said that at half time but not unless we sun sands and Jack off
  16. How is there not three subs standing on that white line waiting to come on?
  17. Make the changes now. We are a goal down instead of level so we need to do something to get a goal or two
