  1. Typical English though, they'll next be saying the English have the best fans because England won the World Cup in 66.
  2. We can win against the Ukraine at Hampden, they only beat us due to some dubious refereeing in the Ukraine not through our lack of ability or passion. Even though they might try and dive left right and centre because of the new regulations refs will be more wary of giving them something. I've also said the Georgia game could be a banana skin for us, but I think we will still get a draw if we don't get the victory, I don't think they will beat us. Italy only beat us in the last game due to some lapses in defence, I'm sure both goals were from set pieces, they will be difficult to score against, but then again so are we. We are capable of qualifying, and even though we need to concentrate on our games, if we score 7 out of 9 points we definitely qualify, I will be watching closely at the other results because if any of the other 3 teams who could possibly qualify slip up it will make our life easier.
  3. I prefer the theory that they played just as good as we let them. For once lets actually sit back and enjoy our success instead of doing the usual Scottish Presbyterian thing of looking for a gloomy reason why we won that doesnt involve us! We won folks!! Enjoy it! Me too. We rattled them, players and fans.
  4. Mathematically 7 points is what we require to definitely qualify, that could change to our benefit depending on what happens in the other fixtures which don't involve us.
  5. Last night was the first time that France lost in France since 1999, and until last night with Raymond Domenech in charge France had only lost two matches in 46. Against Italy in the World Cup (on penalties) and Scotland at Hampden! :bouncy: :bouncy:
  6. We will qualify, but it is amazing to think that you need 28 points to be assured of qualification.
  7. Maybe Averladze will do us a favour and header into his own net. he has retired unfortunately Sweet, who else do that have? Zurab? Still a hard place to go to, but it could've been that bit harder with Shota about. shota was their only real danger at hampden so without him they arent gonna cause us much bother! Thank God for that, anyway a lot will also depend on the other games, if the Ukraine were to beat France for example...
  8. I'm glad to hear this, is actually a pleasant surprise.
  9. Maybe Averladze will do us a favour and header into his own net.
  10. It's already been reported that BBC will be showing Georgia game I'm afraid. can't remember where I read it though.
  11. Luckily I'm not superstitous, but the Georgia game is on BBC Scotland, don't know about the Italy game.
  12. Never heard that, excellent that would have been a wonderful sight!
  13. It was amazing, spread round the whole stadium, and the noise during and after the match.
  14. They're still third in a very difficult group and can still qualify, I don't think it's about how good or bad a team is, cause reading those reports sounds more like excuses to me and not what actually happened, Scotland defended superbly and stopped the French from being able to score. It isn't that they are a bad team it's just on the night we were the better team.
  15. are definitely the Scottish, and we proved it last night. The French officials didn't even attempt to segregate the fans who didn't have official tickets and let them mingle with the French fans and not one spot of trouble. Well done to everyone who was lucky to attend.
  16. If McFadden doesn't start the McLeish will be lucky to make it home to Scotland ALIVE !! 1-0 tonight with McFadden the Hero !! (I feel a repeat of the Holland game at Hampden a few years back) What did I tell you !! Was there ever a dought ??? You're not the only one who had a clue m8 I only got the left back position wrong with my team selection.
  17. We should be able to qualify, I can't see us faltering now.
  18. Not a bad nights work last night, partay partay partay partay partay partay So simple now, win our remaining games and we qualify If we can beat France home and away we can beat anyone!
  19. Got beat 2-1 by Norway, and China beat Denmark 3-2
  20. I think you'll probably be safe, as I think he'll start over O'Connor
  21. Will be surprised to see Caldwell and O'Connor starting the game.
