  2. He played against better strikers in the UEFA Cup run and didn't struggle. I don't think he could have slowed up much since then, he was already pretty slow. He's also not struggled much against the scum this season in either game. The difference was that we sat deep, defended for our lives and counter attacked against teams with much more talented individuals than we had. Against Celtic, that's not the case. We can't push up and put pressure on a team who aren't as good as us, because one ball over the top and that's that. I'm glad someone else can see the problem. I Love Davie and think he's been superb, but the thought of scum players running with pace at davie fills me with some dread. And PGs right, we can't play as high a line and pressurise the tims because we have to protect davie.
  3. Pretty much sums it up for me. That goal against the scum is possibly one of if not the most important goal this season for us. Think of the shot in the arm it would have given them if they'd won, they struggled after this game. The fact we were battered and bruised (so many missing) and we came away with a well earned point must have really hurt them mentally. Agreed. Really took the wind out of them.
  4. Nobody else seems in the slightest bit concerned about Davie's chronic lack of pace in the Old Firm games. I obviously have nothing to worry about then, good
  5. I agree. But we can be selective over whether or not to adorn our famous Blue Room with the portrait of an embarrasment to the club.
  6. We have two crucial games against the Tims this season. Our main weakness defensively is Big Davie's chronic lack of pace. I'd imagine exploiting this would be the crux of their attacking strategy. Whether to get in behind and score, or win freekicks and penalties. We have a chance to shut that door now by forging a partnership between Bougie and Wilson. I think we should go for it. Sir Walter won't though
  7. Tough one... It's a question of WHEN not IF Weir's lack of pace will cost us a goal - hopefully it won't be a crucial one. Against the pacier opponents - including the OF games - Weir could be/has been a real liability - forced into giving away deliberate freekicks/border line penalties when he's been beaten for pace. I'd say drop Weir for Bougherra now, try it for Saturday at least, and see how things look. He cant go on forever, and the phasing out process has to start sometime!! Might persuade Wilson to stay if he becomes a no.1 choice - Weir will hopefully be gone in the Summer anyway - with our warm appreciation for his efforts of course!
  8. To "Ole ole ole" Oooo-ooh! He's Lee McCulloch - Big Lee McCulloch - he hates the tims! He loves the Glasgow Rangers and he hates the filth-in-green He bullets one past Boruc and he says "God Save the Queen"
  9. ..................Big Lee :praise: Thread's like this might make us seem really fickle but, to be fair to ourselves, Big Lee has seen Big improvement. Simple really, he doesn't seem so much off the pace now. He has that extra spring to win more headers, that extra yard to avoid so many late tackles/fouls, a bit more energy to find the space for the shots and get up the pitch to be in a position to hit them! He's always been a big character in the dressing room, which can't be underestimated. I'm glad he's coming good on the pitch
  10. Do you not see that Septic themselves are fuelling the "myth" by seeking out the St. Ledgers of this world - irish and catholic but with seemingly no other link to them - to play for them.
  11. The interesting thing is that St. Ledger's quote clearly shows that Septic are viewed as a "catholic club" in England at least. Yet this is far from the image the tims want portrayed. So why would the Record play ball and so carefully remove those specific few words?
  12. Can you imagine the uproar if a player headhunted by us had said in an interview "i'm from Ulster and i'm protestant so a move to Rangers would be massive for me..."??? Here's an interview with Sean St. Ledger, the moody c*nt from that Peterborough documentary a few years back. Interesting quote. Rest of the article here: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Trans...icle310761.html Now contrast it to the Daily Record article: Note the omission of the "i am a catholic" justification for wanting to join the scum. Here is a player who has clearly been headhunted by celtic. I'm sure he is a decent young defender, but there are many of these around. Why should they go for him? He's Irish. He's Catholic. No mention of being a celtic fan. As he says. He clearly believes these factors have played an important role in his suitability for playing for the tims, otherwise why mention them? Why are the tims protected from this tarring with the sectarian brush??
  13. It's not just about business though for me. The shops were a mark of pride. A sign of a big club. If they were haemorraging the club millions than fine but they clearly are sustainable - otherwise why have Septic still got theirs open?! They were not losing us money, we made money, more than all the other clubs in Scotland put together inc. septic! I totally agree, i was so sad to lose our shops, it is a sign of an institution, we should get them back, the jjb deal imo is unacceptable, i cant shop there, i hate the place, its a tramps shop Murrays done us over big time and everyone sat back and swallowed his shite, for a poxy 18 million lump sum FFS NOW we are 31m in DEBT. Personally i blame Bain for that deal - he was the commercial guy before he then became chief exec. He MUST have had a big say in it. We can't keep letting him off these things by just heaping it all on Murray....
  14. You cant just wander round there are metal fences separating sections and there was police and stewards stopping you going round. My apologies
  15. It's not just about business though for me. The shops were a mark of pride. A sign of a big club. If they were haemorraging the club millions than fine but they clearly are sustainable - otherwise why have Septic still got theirs open?!
  16. Some St Johnstone player made an error and we all started chanting " Keano " yeah when i heard that i thought it would be more likely to be emanating from the Rangers end
  17. If i was at the game and was sat in amongst a load of empty seats or quiet fans i'd without hesitation move to where the noise was. I don't really understand fans complaining about being sat in the wrong place. Hampden's a bowl so why not just wander round?
  18. The impression picked up from the TV broadcast (allowing for dodgy mic placement).... was that we were outsung by St Johnstone fans in our own backyard Not sure if this was the reality of it but it was definitely how it came across.
  19. Because since then, in terms of merchandising, there is only one big club in Scotland. And it ain't us It sickens me that they have a chain of shops across the UK and we have a poorly stocked fucking shelf stack tucked away in some shitey JJB store. The deal was a humiliation then. It's a humiliation now. Fuck Bain Get him and his massive wage packet to fuck
