  1. "Mark McGhee - f*nian BASTARD!! Mark McGhee - f*nian BASTARD!! Mark McGhee - f*nian BASTARD!! Mark McGhee - f*nian BASTARD!! Mark McGhee - f*nian BASTARD!!" As the old ditty goes...
  2. Nice! I really hope Bougie stays with us next season
  3. This is exactly the reason why he has said this though. We can all laugh at how gash Celtic are, and how we are coasting this league, but at the end of the day there are problems that lie far deeper than that and Walter is trying to open everyones eyes. We are too busy getting carried away laughing at the tims to realise that it's our own club that are in serious serious bother unless this situations resolved. You're right. We've been far to busy laughing at the Tims when we SHOULD have been worrying endlessly about a problem that's beyond our control to solve. Naughty us
  4. Next thread: What would happen if a meteor hit earth and wiped out all life? :pierre: What would we do?
  5. Sir Walter pisses me off with these comments tbh - fuelling a media frenzy that Rangers FC is going down the plughole. It's not what Bears - young or old - should be faced with. Especially when it's bollocks. I think it's his way for getting investment sooner rather than later by making out we're on our last legs, but surely any investor is clever enough not to require these games to step in? Who knows...
  6. I think it's more to do with it being a couple of days since his only rivals were allowed to bring in five players and him none..... But why does he have to come out with the emotive stuff, quite deliberately pouring fuel on the "edge of the abyss", "half the 1st team squad shipped out in the summer" media frenzy, rather than the more conservative "we're tightening our belts" attitude - which we'll all happy to go along with and which doesn't involve us playing an under-19 side next season??
  7. He must see some benefit in talking us down as paupers staring into the "abyss". That's clearly not the case, and Smith has pulled this stunt a few too many times now. It's getting predictable. The question is, what benefit could he be thinking of? Encouraging investors? Pressurising the bank? Mind-games with Septic?
  8. Let's keep it simple and avoid the rhetoric 08/09 Good - 39mill Bad - 48mill Result 10mill down, debt from 20mill to 30mill. 09/10 Good - 39mill +10mill CL + Transfer fees Bad - 48mill minus big chunk of wages (5mill?) plus extra interest on the extra debt (2mill?) [thanks jimbeam;)] Result 4 or 5 mill up, debt from 30mill to 25mill Agree or disagree?
  9. So... by the end of this season.... Expenses will be DOWN - due to player sales, wages down etc... Turnover will be UP - due to Champs League cash (at least £10million), incoming transfer fees etc... Right - so that clears that up - our debt is going DOWN and the domesday scenario is bollocks. how do you know the debts being repaid? its jumped from 20m to 31m in last couple of years that looks very simplistic and looks as if we could make a profit this year, i cant see that happening somehow Why not?
  10. So... by the end of this season.... Expenses will be DOWN - due to player sales, wages down etc... Turnover will be UP - due to Champs League cash (at least £10million), incoming transfer fees etc... Right - so that clears that up - our debt is going DOWN and the domesday scenario is bollocks. Can one of the domesday merchants please tell me why i am so wrong and the club is doomed???? Once you cut through Smith's and the media's spin games, the numbers seem pretty straightforward to silly old me. Where are they when you need them...
  11. OK, jump for cover, here comes the FACTS Year ending June 09: So... by the end of this season.... Expenses will be DOWN - due to player sales, wages down etc... Turnover will be UP - due to Champs League cash (at least £10million), incoming transfer fees etc... Right - so that clears that up - our debt is going DOWN and the domesday scenario is bollocks.
  12. i thought the same, but bluedell put me right few weeks back, last few years accounts have been very bleak reading i don't believe it. Ticket income/Champs League and TV/merchandise etc.. cannot be smaller than the wage bill. I'd like to see some simple ball park figures if this is so obvious and ive missed something. Tempted to google the last accounts breakdown and cannae be bothered :pierre:
  13. These domesday scenarios are utter bollocks. Smith's just overcooking it as an SOS to new investment. If you're telling me a club of Rangers size, with our home gates, plus Champions League money, can't break even over a season then id like to see some numbers please. You can understand the bank doesnt want the debt increasing, but a stable debt of £30million odd, presuming we only break even, is barely loose change to Lloyds.
  14. Obviously it would be amazing, but a more thoughtful response: The degree of elation does depend on how its won and where i am when its won - e.g. Helicopter Sunday meant a little less to me as i was tuned into the radio when it happened and then missed out on the party later that day. As opposed to last season when i was in the Louden then went along to Ibrox after. Also a last day win would be greeted with more outright ecstacy than if we win it with 5 or 6 games in hand. Dont think i want to risk it though so i'll take the early finish thank you
  15. I can understand you all having a moan when all those spineless "oh no they've signed keane!" threads were coming up... But since the result last night stuck a pin in their oversized balloon of optimism it's been possibly the funniest few hours of laughing at the tims in many a long year, a bit of over-exurberant posting can surely be excused under such circumstances? Y'honour
  16. watch out for the "only one thread about celtic/keane" police
  17. Try now and one i picked up elsewhere: A day in the life of Robbie Keane

  19. Tough one... no-one likes pissing on them more than me, but to sacrifice what might be a long unbeaten record just for a laugh at their expense (when to be honest we'll have no shortage of those anyway).... I'll go for NO - we should win the game and rise above their level. Good question though.
  20. The title's not over - anything can happen in football. Over course we're big favourites to get 2 in a row but stranger things have happened. All the more important we enjoy it whilst it lasts - and forget about any shite about "complacency" (we're not the players ffs) just in case God is a f*nian after all! Though after last night...
  21. This vids had 3000 views since i stuck it on yesterday morning - i wonder if Brazil was one of them, greetin' into his cornflakes name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  22. I would hope that could be achieved without the need for having Le Guen's impish french face on the wall. A conversation perhaps? Or a DVD?
  23. im under the covers wi the pillow on my heid....lol I gave up long ago. Final Score: 3-1 Septic Keane hat trick. Believe it now then it wont be so gutting when it happens
  24. Shit - BBC website has crashed. It seems to be indicating it's 0-0 at half time. But we know that's impossible as Keane started and we all know he's going to put away all those chances they're making. Can anyone tell me the accurate score?
