I have to first set the background for this post. I have spent a day reading countless internet articles and arguments about rangers' and celtics behaviours in europe and during the minutes silence respectively. Needless to say, my head is aching with so many different thoughts and feelings. Why are we always persecuted? Why do celtic always seem to get away with acts so many people find disgusting? After this, i start to wonder if its down to me: if i am perhaps of a very biased nature or if they are in fact treated differently by our media. One of the reasons this day has been so hard is that i feel our team is actually making a positive change. I was impressed with a lot of aspects with our performance against st mirren and witnessed celtics awful display against falkirk. Even just to hear celtic criticised by the commentators felt different and good. Even our performance against unirea - and all in the face of adversity with the media storm around rangers in recent times. I for one am absolutely sick and tired of being persecuted by media and by celtic fans. I guess this is quite a preachy point but maybe you agree with me: That we should make a conscious effort to improve our supports behaviour and avoid bad press. And before the shitstorm hits me, i'm not simply stating that all our fans in unirea were thugs or that their behaviour was or was not appropriate. I just think that it is time for a change; and that the best and most positive way for rangers to move forward in these difficult times is to follow the positivity on the field and prove to ourselves and our team and staff that we are the people.
