  1. I highly doubt a fine academic school would get their pupils to spend "months" (your words) to come up with "letters of apology" to hand out to the supporters of other football teams for wrongs purportedly committed by another football team. a) this sounds like something a 6 year old would do b) what subject is this ? c) shouldn't he be studying for exams ?
  2. It's actually a reasonable question. Umbro and Tennents would have signed contracts with the Oldco, not the Newco. If we have to renegotiate deals will they be paying as much to sponsor a third division Rangers ? I'd say it's most likely that it'll be the new kit that we wear, but definately worth asking the question.
  3. Let them vote and sign their own death warrant. That way we can't be held accountable in a years time when they are all facing liquidation themselves and Scottish football is on its knees.
  4. Re his last tweet - isn't that exactly what McCoist told any players who walked out NOT to say ,
  5. If this ends up in the courts it could take months, possibly even years to sort. I really hope Green is 100% correct in his thinking and fully support him in pursuing these players and the clubs they go to for every penny they are due.
  6. Naismith = gutted he's going Whittaker = wouldn't have got much of a transfer fee and glad his £1m+ a years off the wage bill
  7. They are covered with insurance but of course insurance isn't free. If you have a history of wrecking motors your car insurance premiums will be through the roof. If you are trying to insure Naismith your premiums likewise will be huge - Rangers footed that bill. I've never heard of these insurance premiums being split 50/50 and I highly doubt it's the case (how would that even work contractually?)
  8. But we're talking specifically about Naismith here aren't we. Do we deserve a fee for Naismith ? Of course we do.
  9. Who pays the insurance premiums ( which must be astronomical with Naismiths history ) ? Who provide the medical facilities for their rehab ? Who provides the world class consultants and medical teams ? Who put together a plan to help the player back to first team action ?
  10. You don't think that, say, Naismith owes the club for the money they've lavished on him whilst he's been injured and for paying for his rehabilitation on the numerous occasions he has been injured ? Surely he could have said "for professional reasons I can't play in division three, but I'll transfer over so Rangers can get a fee as compensation when I depart" ?
  11. Green came out and said he had legal advice stating that the transfer of players to the newco was automatic - clearly the players have had advice to the contrary. I wonder if the distinction is that whilst the players registrations transfer (as an asset) their contract of employment doesn't due to TUPE protection.
  12. Don't care about Whittaker but we spent a fortune on Naismith during his multitude of injuries , the least he could do wax transfer over and then leave so we could get a fee
  13. I think wages are paid Tuesday, but you can be deemed to have accepted if you take the wages and show up on Thursday. This is all hypothetical though, only and employment tribunal would be able to determine the outcome. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
  14. No your right, if they turn up on Thursday (as requested by management) and start to receive wages without saying anything then they could be deemed to have accepted their new contract by their actions. If they then wanted to walk away on a free transfer it would start to get very messy. Would be best for all if the players would just say "I'm staying" or "I want to leave" but I suppose that is difficult whilst everything is still up on the air
  15. Does this count though ? The wage deferral was agreed with the oldco ?
  16. I think you'll find most pro-footballers ply their trade for a wage. It's what the "pro" part of their job title infers. IF we end up in the lower leagues then someone like Ortiz would be miles ahead of any of the opposition and I'd welcome him back provided he would put a shift in commensurate with the fact that he'd be about 20 times better paid than anyone else in the division. No less than 100%,100% of the time. Plus he looks exactly like my brother.
  17. Made me laugh out loud, now look very odd sitting in a library.
  18. It's quite funny that he's appalling for Celtic yet manages to score against Germany in the quarter finals of the quarter finals of the European Championships.
  19. No one would be on £5k a week in division 3, lots of the opposition players will be semi-pro. You'd have an average wage of say £2k a week across 20 players = £2m a year. Just having a fully professional squad would mean we should destroy the division. Additional operating costs of say £1m equals a total operating budget of £3m. Using the above sums we would obtain around £9m a year just from season ticket sales which doesn't include match day walk up sales. Economically the third division would probably be better than trying to keep up with the spending required to be competitive in the SPL with a fairl similar budget to that we'd have in the fourth tier.
  20. Aberdeen February, they'll struggle all year and then the lack of hate revenue from a long, cold winter will be the final nail
  21. Bloody hell if this is the level of debate at your work then McDonalds really do need to improve their pre-employment screening process
  22. Seems overly protective of Whyte, agenda ?
