Another uninspiring name IMO, with the likes of Beattie and Tommy Smith costing £1.5million I can't help but think I'd rather that money went on a winger, look at the amount of strikers we have. Miller, Lafferty, Naismith, Little, Velicka - If we get Jelavic I'd say get rid of Velicka or Lafferty, but tbh I'd take Mphela or Welcome too, just think too much time is being spent looking at a striker when we need wingers, a left back and probably a centre back a bit more.

Agreed Muff, if he's the same player he was last season I'd rather field a youth team all next season. If we're spending 1.5mil I don't think he's worth the risk that he's a player like he was a few year back, but then again Walter knows best

He used to be a good player, just lost his way at Portsmouth so lets hope that was just a blip. If its QPR I won't lose any sleep though

No to Tommy Smith, John Utaka and David Nugent for me tbh If we don't get Jelavic then put the money on a younger player like Goodwillie or try Welcome or Mphela

I'm a Gers fan that also follows Liverpool so will be interesting to see him there, don't see why everyone hates him though, he did a job for us and left without being a wanker. Anyway... What positions does he play in? Centre back is all I've seen him play What attributes does he have? He's composed, strong, decently quick and not bad on the ball Who would you compare him to? He'll have learned a bit from Davie Weir so I think he'll be a no nonsense stopper, too early to say though Is he ready for first team football in the Premier League? I'd have said another season here with Weir would have done him well, don't think he's any better than Carra, Agger, Skrtel or Soti at the moment though but has great potential. Also, Soti was a legend here
