  3. I keep reading by a vast majority of blue noses that the league is in the bag already and i've been reading and hearing these noises for quite a wee while now but like Walter Smith has got drummed into the players we've won no league yet and there's still a bit of work to be done.Take tonights match thought we played a lot better than of recent matches and when they went down to 10 men i thought it was just going to be a matter of when not if we were going to take the lead and win the game as we were the better side tonight although lady luck wasnae on our side. I know were in a good position but another two points dropped tonight.I'd hate to think how i'd feel if things went a similar way on sunday or worse especially with the 3 away fixtures we're stuck with on the way,i'm sure Walter and co and the team would have wanted the league won before these fixtures. I don't want to make things sound any gloomier but when i saw that we had motherwell as our last fixture at home. There was only one thing in my mind the day we could have created the proudest and most prestigous piece of history a club in the top flight of domestic fitba in scotland could have made especially as it was going one better over our bitterest rivals. I'm sure everyone knows and still feels the pain of what i'm talking about. I just hope it doesn't come down to the last day against the same team as that day. Come on the gers i can't wait for the sound of victory and three points at Ibrox on Sun. :bougherra:
  4. Why and what i'd like to know outwith a doubt December was by far the best period of fitba the team played and probably the best period we're all likely tae see this season,6 games 6 wins and with style an aw,plus player and manager of the month to boot.Shame injuries and boogie away in africa depleted that squad in Jan, and some of Feb. Then when Smith got back his squad mostly with a clean bill of health i was expecting him to get back to the formation and the tactics that worked so well in December,Novo Wide left,Beasley wide right,Davis Thomson/ McCulloch centre midfield and the obvious back four and front two.But he went with a lot of rotating some players instead.Ok it got us results but i think a lot of fans would agree it was at times nail biting to say the least.Well and as for tonight say no more,no pace coming from the wings at all. Come on Wattie look back to December and let's make it 53 in real defending champions style.
  5. http://www.rangers.co.uk/articles/20100330/simply-not-good-enough_2254024_2010389 How many times have we heard this from Walter Smith, Ally McCoist, David Weir, Kenny Miller, and Lee McCulloch this season, and in other years. David Weir said a few months back that he didn't know why the players started soo poorly, and didn't know who to sort it out. It's a major problem with these set of players, especially in cup games. Get it sorted ffs, along with other areas - it's not good enough that the oppostion can be up for games, show they want it more, set the tempo, over-run, and out fight us...
  6. Yes you're right my plymouth friend we haven't regained our title yet but put your mind at rest. Two years ago we were potentially playing for a unprecedented quadruple with the domestic treble and also the uefa cup.Remember Walter Smith saying after it was all over that in his opinion the league was lost after a monumental amount of games and the tiredness of the squad due to this. This season we have nothing left to focus on other than regaining the title. Ok so the team had a lacklustre game tonight only our first away defeat away from home in the league this season.Hey even the best teams in the world have their off nights. I'm not too worried after tonights loss. What happened 2 years won't be happening this year It's the future of the club and what structure will be in place(if any)come the summer that's unsettling. Catch up with you at the clipper sometime. 52 and counting.Simply the best.
  7. Absolute brilliance! From the word go to the final whistle they worked really hard for each other,IMHO the best performance i've seen this season. Good to see Kirk Broadfoot back again and Beasley is now showing the potential. More of the same for the rest of the season and we'll be hard to peg back by anyone. The team also showed they can play attractive football that would be good enough in any countries top flight. An absolute joy to watch. And yet again back to where we belong as champions at the top of the league
  8. Totally agree with everyone and hope he plays ahead of McCulloch against Unirea. I'm sure the experience of playing in the CL will build his confidence for a 17 yr old now he's got a foot in the 1st 11's dressing room's door.
  9. That would be my starting 11,taking account of injuries. Injuries are never good especially with our trimmed squad but it's good to see wattie giving the youngsters a chance.
  10. I'm sure most people have read the post around the herald article and if you havn't i would take the time to. This is the future of our rangers I like the idea of a club based on the Barca model it certainly should be looked into. I know there has been discussions on the other posts, but what's it to be on the future running of our club?On the ownership? We are the fans and the fans have to be heard to be seen to be taken seriously!
  11. Hey remember it's scotland and year after year the weather takes it's toll and scenarios like today will continue for evermore,at the pure feeling of being fucked right off if we are away in a hard match, one up at half time and we've got to do it all over again. Why oh why because of the severe weather we get up here the powers don't change the season to accomodate this very frustrating problem for everyone, but it will never happen.
  12. IMHO Boydy and Miller at the end of last season looked like being our best up front partnership and in many games when walter wasn't swapping things around, they proved they were our best strikeforce. I haven't seen Lafferty enough in a strike partnership due to his injuries and walter playing him out of position(he is a CF isn't he) to agree that he the best option upfront with miller/boyd. What i do know having for the last 2 seasons we've got a squad of players who should now each other inside out on the pitch, but injuries aside,we still don't have a surefire upfront partnership. If i was walter continuity up front needs to be addressed.
  13. If the people who deal with the in's and out's of transfers are costing the club money through bad deals and it's there for all to see why the hell are they no sacked and bring in the right people who can do a top job for the club especially during these financially frail times.
  14. I have been asked to resize my sig.Only i don't know how to and was told somebody kindly here could help.Please. Thank You.
  15. "Fact is, we can still qualify for the last 16 and we're top of the league. Review the situation in January/June":Rangers Fan Quote Miller "We can still qualify for the next phase"...True...but come on millers saying that so we don't lose belief! However we've got as much chance[ unless there is dramatic change at Ibrox] at us getting out of the SPL into our dream league as we have of qualifying for the next phase of the CL.We'll be lucky to get a place in the Europa. As for staying at the top of the SPL,there has to be some doubt over that too.I've read quite a few posts stating clubs such as Motherwell, Hibs and a few others who season after season are labelled as the also rans. These sides against all the odds have got it together.Take the game vs motherwell,we were lucky not to lose and they would have deserved it,a squad of mostly inexperienced youngsters really looked ahead of their years, playing the kind of football they can build on to greater heights!No-one can deny the fact that the devide between the OF and the rest is not any where as great as it was,and we all know why, money doesn't guarantee success, tapping into talented youth with a continental style making rangers playing the beautiful game as it should be played. We need serious visionaries to make the changes that are going to take rangers out of the current climate to be even considered to be good enough to be playing alongside the best in the UK/Europe.Before it's too late.We maybe win fuck all this year or next.Is it not time for a new generation?Starting to lay the conerstones for the next decade and onwards.WATP
  16. I agree totally with the above young man.Ok in regards to last night's game, no game In the CL is an easy game and i believe a lot of fans thought the game was going to be a formality! How proved wrong they were and i thought with such an unsettled team, our best defender injuring himself at a training session(that's the sort of blows you don't expect to happen to a top pro at a top pro team on the day of such an imprtant game;the money we lost after another deafeat now)our general performances since the start and the results,it didn't surprise me we got beat.Yes it's time for Walter to go but i don't think it will be this season as i believe the boord want him to stay,of course he could leave in Jan but i don't think he will bfore a replacement is in place.I hope he's not getting the board in line for Sally to take over, I hate to say it but unless we get some major investment,a complete overhaul of management and personel,as fans i fear as fans the frustration's of the early/mid eighties?Who's going to save us?
  17. Slaughtered. By the so called minnows.Time to leave. We need a miracle if we're to get into Europa Cup let alone next phase.Very diasapointing!!!!!!!!!!!!! x 10
  18. Mon the Gers.Should be 2-1 up.Need to make amends for the penalty miss. I don't fuckin believe it.We're throwin it away now.1-2.
  19. What a start for the Gers and Mendes.Their manager must be feeling sore after such a wicked deflection, not that we care,it is a must win match. Must be a full or near capacity at Ibrox tonight. The loyal have started the game as the team.Very vociferous!Rangers showing signs of recent matches, giving away possession, not commanding the midfield to create chances in the 3rd.After a perfect start we thought it would have given us the impetus to push on,get that second, but with nearly 30 mins gone Uni are are still having more possession.Best move of the match from both sides so far, involving Papac on a run into the fnal 3rd on the right, lovely pass to Naismith, who in turn played the ball into the box,but no-one there. Disaster!Uni caught rangers sleeping,Rothen not keeping to his man,and they made it look so easy Penalty!Davis steps up but his effort is saved easily.Chance just before half-time to get back in front.Wasted.O if only Boydy was there!!!!!Right on half time too. Half Time. Should have been 2-1 up we really can't afford to waste chances in these games.Need to do better in next half if we're to keep us in with a chance of making the next phase.Lucky goal to start with,Rothen sleeping and their back in it.Not converting penalties and once again our ball retention leaving a lot to be desired.Got it all to do.Mon the gers
  20. i also believe that weir's "tackle" on mcdonald in the OF game wasnt an accident lol what he needs to go is have a go at some of this team though for shite performances Aye it must be said he could quite easily have cost us the old firm victory with his mistimed tackles. Aye he's our captain and while he's walters choice and stays fit(and a slow fit at that) he will remain. Hate to say it we need someone better
  21. Is this a joke ? He's hardly an example to others....ti was only a few months he was on the transfer list for his behaviour Really was oor nos 1 goalie(imo)on the transfer list? Greggs is young and most young people make stupid mistakes! He would be on my shortlist if big Davie wasnae available and in the near future.I'm sure he's learned from his mistakes.
  22. Thanks m8.Is it true you can ask the folk in the grahpic and design dept kindly to design a sig for you? All the best

    My sig

Hi, I've been asked to reduce my sig only i don't know how to. Can you please help. Regards
  24. Priorities..regaining the league..dead right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I 'm nae sure what other folk's opinion on this thread are, that's why i've put it on. In my honest opinion after Barry F left i can uderstand why walter gave the honour to davie,he's a true pro,the elder statesman and aw that but to me he's no showing the qualities up tae the standard that we need.In the SPL take the 3 draws recently and pretty much any other time the team have no been getting it anywhere near right during the match? He's been non-existent to see.We need a strong leader on and off the field, even more so during our CL adventures this season,if we're to succeed to the next phase, and from what i've seen since Davie's been given the arm band,he's no giving us that leadership, winning or losing we need from our captain. Obviously Watties made his mind up.Nothing against Davie i just think we could do with someone with more edge.I'm no sure who but i'm sure i'ts an area of our team that's costing us, for the worse.
