  1. It's gone now but as you brought it up... I think if we'd stuck by PLG he would have came good - Rangers fans aren't patient enough so it wasn't to be! bluosh If he'd've stayed we'd still came in 2nd Ferguson would've been made to 'toe the line' and Boyd would've got the kick up the arse he needs! This season would've been a disappointing one but next season would've seen Rangers adopt a better passing game - more suited to Europe yes, but as next season wore on we'd've seen a much improved team and a manager more settled and under less pressure! I'm fully behind Walter, Ally & Co BUT i'll always look back and think of the opportunity we spurned and what could've been the beginning of a NEW and beautiful era in Rangers Football Club.. (header) championee
  2. I've lost the link but i'm sure it had RANGERS ONLINE as part of it! Just want to check see how he's doing with the Rangers Archive page! (header) Anyone know? :Animation44:
  3. I think these days we have to continually UNDERPLAY our chances - and as long as we do that along with tapping into that British 'Fighting Spirit' we're so proud of, this period in our history will pass! (header) The debt will go. Murray will F off (with his pockets bulging of course). Then things will start looking brighter!!! There's only one concern in my mind - who'll take over from Mr Smoke and Mirrors? If we get RST and Rangers fans involvement, things will start improving but that improvement will only be realised with an increase in the Capacity of Ibrox and a change in attitude towards the Rangers Fans!!!! We're Rangers fans not Customers :pipeguy:
  4. Every Other Saturday!!! Basically it's a traditional song and it tells a story of a happy-go-lucky Rangers fan who'll always love our great club! (header) Mostly because it kinda shows the elation of Rangers scoring goals! GREAT SONG!!! (header)
  5. CR, I'll get to it on Monday and fire one back - using the WiFi in the Library (shuts in 10 mins!) Btw - I can't say how much your help has meant to me in the highlighting of the File idea - YOU'VE BEEN INVALUABLE! Thanks for the help! Chic A Horse With No Name (formerly The Drum Man of the Number 1 fanzine) Well I am going to look into it and see if any of our soldiers here would be willing to put time into making it even better. We get ideas from time to time. I've left it in the hands of Frankie and he'll do the business - of that i'm sure! (header) It's quite a big task and i know he has others helping him - it maybe just got too much for me - but i'm happy it'll be looked after now! Sounds like i'm losing a Son or Daughter <cry> but have to be honest and say i've enjoyed my time with the file - As that Beatles song went "Fixing a hole where the rain gets in stops my mind from wandering...." With Celtic running away with things in the domestic front - i guess it took my mind off other things!!!

  7. There is a site, the dcrsc.com site that has it in 3 formats and that's quicker - i'm in the process of sending the file to Ally at that site (the last i'd heard though was that he had an older copy of the file!?). I'm using the 'yousendit' service and it's taking an eternity.... If it doesn't take in half an hour i'll give it a miss! Yes, the file does take a while to download but i guess as it's the final one patience is important! It's great that Frankie is taking the idea forward.
  8. Yes I have although I should check if I have the latest version. You mean there's more to add? I thought it had just about everything. I downloaded an Excel file years ago by an Andrew John Gray that had all the results up to 1999 but was not as comprehensive as this one. The main idea of the file was that it was EXPANSIVE that's why i'm happy to have started something - it's only the seed of an idea hopefully a TREE will come to life!!! There you go - a wee bit of Philosophy as well!!! Bazza: "Its about finding more and more information to add to it from through our History as well as updating the system". You know what i mean! B) That Gray file - along with the Rothmans Books on Football Seasons (even the Rangers News!! - was my inspiration! I had a copy of that back in the mid 90's and couldn't lay my hands on it again after my PC crashed, so that's when the idea of doing this, and EXPANDING the file came to me! Mostly it was the Rothmans Annual as they have EVERYTHING in them - if only Rothmans took the idea and just kept it on Rangers and instead of a Annual spreadsheet of every club!!!
  9. Absolutley fantastic work m8. It really will be a big loss not to have you doing this. It surprises me how often I delve into the stats. (clap) (clap) (clap) I'm the same, it's really easy to find facts with Spreadsheets - just Control+F and type in what you want! Like i say i really hope someone takes this idea and improves on it - i've played a part in initiating it, and that makes me really proud - whether the idea keeps going or dies a death will be in others' hands!
  10. Thanks for the work you have done. Been extremely useful. No problem!
  11. Sorry Kev! For me the idea's run it's course - hopefully (as i said) another Bear can take the idea forward! Thanks for the support! Must say there'll be a wee tear in my eye when i delete all the stuff from my Laptop! <cry> Cheers!!
  12. I’ve just uploaded the updated File again!! http://www.rangersmedia.com/stats.html This update of the ‘Rangers 1872-2007 Results’ spreadsheet is the final one I’ll be making. It is a major update as it includes ‘Players Appearance Tables’ for each and every season! This - along with the 3 pages at the beginning of the file, make it very easy for those not experienced in Spreadsheets to work on, it’s very easy to expand its depth and keep it up to date!!! I hope another Bear/Bearette takes this idea (of a Statistics file, that’s free to Rangers fans to download, and that garners more & more data) forward there seems no limit to its growth! I’ve put a lot of work into this file over the last 3 or 4 yrs - it’s time now to let someone else carry the idea forward. I’ve enjoyed searching out data and putting this file together - this update is my last involvement. I’m now handing over the baton…… Many thanks to those who pointed out mistakes and gave me unknown data and understood the objective!!! A Horse with No Name
  13. Exactly - while McNee, Spiers, Keevins etc are allowed to continue using the mhedia to whip up anti-Rangers sentiment - don't expect fairness!!! :pipeguy: Uefa (like most governing bodies) use the Politics of the 'Least Resistence' and until we make it clear to them (and the new establisment in Scotland) we're no mugs - they'll continue to treat us such!!!!
  14. Hateley wants to know why!!!! The reason is simple Mark - Uefa want to set examples of teams and the Scottish Media have been pestering them for seasons (McNee, Spiers & Keevins etc) to do something about Rangers! Even when we got the fair hearing from Uefa, that wasn't good enough for McNee and Co. they continued and continued and eventually Uefa were prodded into action! This action was only dealt because they KNEW that Rangers FC with Murray at the Helm would do 'he-haw' to deter them. McNee and Co KNEW they would'nt and advised Uefa accordingly! The reason for this injustice Mark ISN'T big bad Uefa, it's Rangers FC for accepting this treatment - it's like bullies in the playground, if you do nothing you'll get your c**t kicked in day in, day out.. ALL THAT'S HAPPENING IS WERE GETTING THAT KICKING AND ALL MURRY & CO WILL DO IS BLEAT (unofficially of course) ABOUT IT! Unless we stand up for ourselves in the Courts of Europe (ooft) EXPECT MORE KICKINGS and Murray shouldn't use aaaaaa lickers like Hateley to do his moaning...... <cry> That's all Mark is doing - either that or he's got a new video/dvd/book out!!!!!!
  15. Canada Ready, A Question: Why does this thread get moved about?? The topic is in the right section isn't it? Is it just new board teething problems?
  16. That joke was first told by Lex McLean A RANGERS FAN with the teacher being a Septic fan --- IN THE SIXTIES!!!!! (clap) Bit like 'You'll Never Walk Alone' etc etc etc nothing original just more stuff stolen... Still it makes a change from 'Hubcaps'!!!! (ooft) you are a f****n a f...... you're only happy on Giro day, your Ma's a 'stealer' your Da's a dealer.... ...........Please don't take my Hubcaps. So predictable!!!!!!!
  17. celtic will always be the most supported team in ireland, just because an america buisness man has bought them over wont change it liverpool are widely supported in ireland anyway Utter horseshit Danny - selick are NOT the best supported team over here ( I live here bytheway) Man U, liverpool and Arsenal all rival them if not BEAT them for supporters. Sellick are treated like a diddy side to support by the irish contingent - i.e. people like to be seen to support thme but couldnt really give a toss, whereas they are MUCH more passionate about the english sides. fuck sakes, there's even support for the H*bbee scum over here! Totally agree! The Celtic support in Ireland seems VERY fickle! Liverpool aren’t having the greatest of times domestically, and I think Celtic have gained from that BUT if they start to pick up in the home front a LOT of these fickle fans will take the easiest road and that’s the short one from Dublin to Merseyside! Jesus H,Christ, IF Manchester Utd start to ‘highlight the Irish aspect of their club they’d get even more than they do already! Celtic fans don’t wont to see this – but there’s only so many folk that can surround a meal….
  18. That's the point I was making - ONCE we get shot of Murray and have people in charge of the club that ain’t afraid to mention the word 'Protestant' then we can go out there to places like America and Australia and Canada etc and attract these people! The good thing about that, is that with everyone fighting over WHO represents the 'Celtic Brand' or 'Celtic Tradition' ie Irish Roman Catholicism (and that will happen sooner or later - Capitalists being what they are) there is a BIG GAP to fill and we can fill it! (ooft) But we can't do it without mentioning the word Protestant!!! Rangers have a proud tradition of representing 'MAINLY' the Protestant community, along with the Jewish Community, folk who dislike Religion and plenty of Asian folk (shop keepers etc - who think our link with the Conservatives is greater than it is) but that tradition is being lost because of the control of the media by the Celtic-minded people (folk who USE Socialism and Political Correctness for their own ends, and NOT for any love of Karl Marx). As a Socialist / Communist I think we have a battle that can be won IF we have people in charge of the club who set out an agenda and stick with it! It won’t be easy but with a good legal Dept to back it up – it’s a fight we can win!!!! Most folk aren’t into Religion / Politics and neither do they want owt to do with Terrorism! We can attract those people by 'enhancing' our dislike of Religion and Terrorism! Let Celtic stick to their agenda – there’s a limit on the amount of food on the table, i.e. cash that all these clubs can aim for - but as far as we’re concerned we need to set our own agenda, there’s plenty of food there for the taking, let’s get our knifes out and eat! :pipeguy:
  19. Greengrass, Have to say Celtic are better run in the respect of 'expanding the brand' as Capitalists like to say. I think the reason for this is Celtic are better (probably because they're more 'in tune' with their fans - ie not ashamed to mention and highlight their Irish Roman Catholic roots! They are reasons for this: 1) The Scottish Media are basically being controlled by 'Celtic-Minded' writers etc. A policy, to my mind which is like the one Socialist run with the Trade Union Congress, a ploy done to shift The Labour party's policy and get their Politics rooted! All that happened in respect of the TUC and the Labour Party was that they were ignored (Block Vote made useless) so that ploy ultimately didn't pay dividends. As far as the ploy of Celtic and their writers / commentators is concerned, it has been successful! The reason for that success has as much to do with Murray's inaction as it has to do with good forward thinking tactics - if Rangers had (or in the future HAVE) a good legal dept things would've been (might in future be) different! Yes they are run better but ultimately selling 'the cause' is only a selling mechanism! Like all Capitalists the ones that run Celtic will have their 'pound of flesh' and there will be a price to be paid. I think with us 'weary' of the Capitalist Murray we have a chance of making good, for us when Murray goes that'll be the telling time in our future!!! One point about selling the brand in America - the original thread still runs true, as far as the Capitalists (Liverpools NEW owner and Celtic's present ones) are concerned i honestly think (like all competing Capitalist it'll come to a contest between you Liverpool and maybe Manchester Utd - at the end of the day there's only so much food on the table, and i think Celtic will be ultimately fighting for the scraps!! :pipeguy:
  20. I'd say Ronald De Boer was the most intelligent player i've seen at Ibrox!! Was he a legend? Well he was here for 4 seasons, played 116 competitive games and scored 39 competitive goals - not enough for me to give him a handle like 'A Legend' but as i say along with Jim Baxter, Davie Cooper, Brian Laudrup and a few others he was way up there in the cerebral department!!! His ability to link with others (especially Shota Arveladze) was out of this world - he knew what others where gonna do, and would ensure they knew likewise - definitely a player i'd love to have seen at Ibrox for 10 plus years - THEN the title LEGEND really would have applied!!!! B)
  21. What happened to 'Daniel CFC's' reply post about "Not bothering about Liverpool............"? I then put in a contribution about 'why' he should be bothered and i got the 'Error Message' up!!! D'oooh - you go to the bother of framing a good answer and the argument gets cut short!!! <cry> ... and there's no 'thumbs down' smiley!!!!
  22. Heard just a wee bit from that news conference in Liverpool. I get the feeling if these new owners are what they seem, they'll be pushing the 'brand' in America and especially the East Coast area that has big Irish Roman Catholic communities. That'll mean (if they want to make serious money) they'll be pushing and 'enhancing' the link between Liverpool FC and Ireland! For me this spells bad news for Celtic and good news for us - less 'revenue streams' as the Capitalists like to call it! What's the thoughts of fellow Bears/Bearettes? To my mind it'll be interesting and amusing watching both clubs trying to feed from the same plate :pipeguy: !
  23. As you say Dado has been fully committed to his job at Rangers and has never failed to give OPTIMUM EFFORT as well as plenty of moments of skill too! (header) Unlike those players who just hang around to take cash off Rangers this guy his given EVERYTHING and as long as we treat him fairly and honourably i'll be happy - it may be that he can only play the odd game now and then for us but my opinion and yours too i've no doubt, is that AS LONG AS WE TREAT HIM FAIRLY I'M HAPPY! <bouncy>
