  1. I'll be there. Think he'll lose, but he performs better when he's the underdog so who knows.
  2. Unofficially this could be Broner's fourth loss if you had him losing to Quintero, De Leon and Malignaggi. He's good, but he was being hyped up to be so much more than he actually is. Still, he's young enough to come back if he's committed enough. Bottom line for me regarding Broner is that he just does not throw enough punches.
  3. The Floyd comparisons should have ended along time ago. Aside from the shoulder-roll style defence, they are no-where near the same - inside or outside the ring. If Broner can be bothered to make 140 then he should go there.
  4. Broner just got bullied and beat up by Maidana. Lost a unanimous decision. Happy for Maidana.
  5. On a different point, if people really desire to see Mayweather lose then they should be calling for him to fight Lara.
  6. Feel sorry for Barker, but on the plus side Eddie got him a very sound deal; he got paid well to the point that he's set for life should he retire now, and if he does decide to come back then he's got a rematch clause with Sturm. Glad Burns-Crawford is in Glasgow, Ricky will need every advantage he can against this guy.
  7. Barker vs. Sturm tonight on Sky Sports 1 from 9pm, should be a good fight. Hope Barker wins, but won't be easy, while Sturm is faded he's not shot.
  8. It's funny, Froch says Groves blew his chance so he doesn't deserve a rematch, and in the next sentence Froch says he should get a rematch with Ward. And damn right Hearn wants to do the rematch, PPV numbers for Froch-Groves were supposedly around 350k.
  9. Agreed. Froch might have been about to finish him, but Groves equally might have recovered; we just don't know and the referee robbed the fans and both fighters of a definitive ending to the fight.
  10. Well, he already beat Bradley, despite what the judges say, but I think Bradley is a tough out for any fighter in the division and it's an easy fight to sell. Pacquiao-Marquez is also easy to sell and it guarantees to be a good fight so I'd be fine with seeing it again.
  11. I'd watch Pac-Bradley 2 or a 5th fight with Marquez.
  12. We can say Rios was made to order for Manny, and he was, but he still shut him out decisively and controlled everything. I've never seen Rios so defensively minded, so Manny at least deserves credit for his victory. If we are to laud Mayweather over his performance against Guerrero then Manny deserves equal credit for how he dealt with Rios.
  13. Naz should in the HOF, it's a wonder why he isn't already.
  14. Bullshit stoppage. The whole "Groves was going down anyway" or "was going to get knocked out anyway" is irrelevant. If he was going to go down, let him go down, and give him the opportunity to recover. If he goes down, gets up, then I'd have no real complaints if the referee decided to stop it. To my eyes Froch was hurt more in round 1 than Groves was in round 9. Add in that Froch had been taking flush punches all night and Groves hadn't, whose to say he wouldn't have recovered? The referee never gave him that opportunity, the same opportunity he afforded to Froch. Scorecards were a disgrace. Groves probably needed a gun to win. And Froch is a cunt. Good fighter, can't argue with that or his run of his fights, but he's an arrogant prick who clamours for respect while giving none to anyone else. Feed him to Golovkin, I'd like that very much.
  15. He has destroyed him. And he asked him if he was going to cry because Carl started to bubble up and get all emotional. I'm not a huge Groves fan either, but Froch is perceived as some kind of saint and gentleman when he's a contradictory, self-obsessed arrogant prick. Good fighter, prick of a man.
  16. It's been nice to see Groves pull Froch up on all his nonsense during this promotion. He's destroyed Froch outside the ring, but I don't think he will inside it. I see this playing out similar to Froch-Bute. Hope Groves wins though, Froch is a cunt.
  17. Golovkin has superstar written all over him. Charismatic, fan friendly style, and like De La Hoya he's good looking enough (no homo) to bring in female fans.
  18. Maybe, but I think he's more skillful than Abraham that his size disparity won't have that much of an affect. The guy has got it all IMO, can box off the back-foot as well - actually changed his style to be more offensive when he came to America. He's next fighting in February in Monte Carlo, apparently against Martin Murray should Murray win his next fight.
  19. 2 years ago I'd have sided with Martinez to beat him, as that's the type of style that will trouble Golovkin in my opinion. Now, however, I think Sergio is borderline shot and Golovkin just walks through him. Golovkin proved he has the chin to go with his offensive style, so he's a tough out for any fighter. Between 160-168 the only guy I would pick over him is Andre Ward.
  20. Phil Edwards is just a terrible referee.
  21. I'd love to see Groves beat Froch, but I think the fight is a mismatch personally.
