  1. I don't think he's a world beater but i'm just being realistic in terms of where we are. I compared him to Edu but I didn't think Edu was a top player either. He was SPL level.
  2. Do you not think its maybe worth at least offering Gomis a trial? I remember being impressed by his performances on many an occasion at Utd. You're maybe being a bit harsh on the guy there.
  3. Was Edu's performance really that outstanding agains't Valencia?.... I mean, it was going so well.... until he scored an own goal, lol. I don't know who is better between him and Gomis. All I know is we are hardly in a position to turn a player of Gomis' quality down with us being in Div2 if he was interested in joining. Or would you prefer Ian Black? lol
  4. Gomis was impressive at Utd, along with Buaben in that midfield. Not seem much of him at Brum but no harm in offering him a trial IMO.
  5. Laudrup against Dundee Utd for 9IAR. Kenny Millers header against St Mirren in the cup final was inch perfect.
  6. Not many clubs have a midfielder as their top scorer. I may be wrong but I think Matt Le Tissier is the only other player who is top scorer at their club from midfield of the Prem teams. Edit: I'm wrong. Never mind.
  7. Absolutely delighted for the guy. I expect Mourinho to ensure he gets a contract extension. He will want Frank and JT as the backbone of the club IMO.
  8. To be fair to Novo, he had just played 2 days earlier and then travelled to Glasgow. Not the best preparation and I thought he clearly had more pace than anyone else on the pitch. Fair do's he is past his best but his experience would be valuable in making sure we have the right mix next season.
  9. Well done Leggo for writing a good article. This is the type of stuff he should be blogging about instead of obsessing over Spiers, The Daily Record and Keith Jackson.
  10. I think it would be great to have Novo back. He always gave 100% and would add some much needed creativity going forward. I have no doubt he'd have his fair share of success taking defenders on in Div2. My only criticism is it take him about 5 shots on goal to actually score, lol. The main reason for that being he often blasts the ball at the centre of the goal making it easier for the keeper to save. My favourite goal of his was the one he scored in the Scottish Cup final about 45 seconds after coming on to secure the 1-0 win. (although his most important was obviously the one against Hibs on helicopter sunday. I would have given that as an own goal by Ian Murray but hey ho, lol. Or the penalty against Fiorentina but technically that was not a goal..)
  11. Agreed. I thought he came onto a good game towards the latter part of his time at Rangers and the fact he was willing to play for us in Div3 made me respect him even more. And with the current squad we have he is definitely an option we should be considering.
  12. I'll mainly be playing Footy Manager and strategy games similar to CIV5 so its should be okay Thanks mate, I was unsure if it would be enough but that has put my mind at ease. Might play a bit of COD as well but that game is why I sold my XBOX, lol. Took over my life. Any spare time I had went straight onto a Team Deathmatch..
  13. I'll check when I get it in case I have to manually switch also. How did you find gaming on the 540m? What games did you play on it?
  14. Agreed. Great post. Well said. I can only speak for myself and I'm happy to say that I chose Rangers for football reasons. I live in Scotland now but I spent most of my early life living in England and visiting Glasgow very often. I was raised in a Catholic household but, down in England, choosing a football team based on religion is not really something that comes into the equation. A lot of my footballing heroes were at Rangers, people I used to pretend being as I booted a football off the garage door to the annoyance of the neighbours. That's where it all started and that was more than two decades ago. What did disappoint me, though, when I moved up here was the "encouragement" from Celts to switch sides for reasons I thought were stupid and no doubt there was Gers fans out there doing the same to others. That's why I've always championed an all-inclusive culture for football teams, It's sad to think that people could miss out on the joy of supporting a team for reasons others than football. It's been a rollercoaster ride from 9IAR to Div3 but I would not change it for the world and it could have been oh so different had I listened to dumb tribalistic theories which were akin to two bald men fighting over a comb. Another disappointing thing is the thought of a non-Protestant thinking they cant support Rangers because they wouldn't fit in with their ideologies when it's not true. We welcome everyone.
  15. Baffles me that it was such a big shock to him, lol. If you dont support a team for the football, why bother? I suppose some are just more interested in following Rangers for the tribalism aspect and the opportunity they get to spout hatred. Are they real football fans? That's debatable.
  16. More than happy to say religion has no place in football. If anyone disagree's with that it's their problem, not mine.
  17. Another example of the Vanguard Bears being all about the Vanguard Bears.
  18. I don't want to weed out pro-Unionism. There is nothing wrong with that as it's inclusive of everyone, which is why the club is more than happy to promote this. If Scots are getting offended at a Union Flag then its them who has the problem.
  19. I welcome everyone. And being an English, pro-Union Loyalist myself, I have no idea why you are saying that.
  20. Spot on. Nobody is denying that part of our history but nowadays there is no need for it. Are people like me and you guilty of trying to "hijack the traditions and culture of the club"? I'd say no, and that it's the VB's who are trying to hijack our clubs efforts of trying to move on to a more inclusive, culture.
  21. lol No doubt the purpose of that thread was to gather the troops for backup, lol. (after a few of them were getting destroyed on here)
  22. That's out of order, Peter. ...how come YOU'RE getting frothed about on the VB site and I'm not? lol
  23. Back page of tomorrows Record say's he's signing for Rangers. They are known to get articles horribly wrong, though.
  24. The club wants to move on from the religious aspect altogether.
