What significance? It's something they've always done, so fucking what? It doesn't mean anything. Not a fuck.

They've huddled and been smashed 5-1 off us, they've huddled and been smashed 14-0 on aggregate by PSG, smashed 14-1 on aggregate by Barcelona.

It doesn't intimidate anyone. It doesn't do anything, other than let those minks all hold onto each other.

Fuck off and stop advocating for a huddle like scenario here.

They didn’t always huddle. In fact, they quite possibly started the thing they do in response to our ‘champions’ stance in the centre circle.

You are possibly to young to remember the days when Rangers were the dominant force and celtic were not even our closest challengers for league titles.

This thread is mostly just clutching at straws what we need is better footballers.

What I will say is the players need to not look scared in the tunnel, a lot of us noticed it on Saturday they’re all standing with their heads facing the floor. As much as I want us to be in the tunnel snarling at those cunts we should at least be standing up tall and looking like you’re ready to fight. If I’m standing on the other side thinking I’m already playing against a bunch of weak losers and shitebags seeing them with their heads down like that you’d be rubbing your hands together

We do not need to be adopting cringe inducing shite similar to their huddle. Absolutely not

Indeed, the players focus and image as they come out onto the field of play is a very significant factor.  I’ve read many instances over the years of players using the time in the tunnel as psychological advantage, we used to be good at this but sadly no more.

Rangers mentality in recent years has been questionable and standards as a club have fallen quite dramatically, what I’m suggesting is a kind of rekindling of a thing that used to be done, as a standard acknowledgment it felt like, but did come with significance.

It's a thing they do, that gives them the feeling of touching each other, the paedo bastards.

True, but it has significance they wouldn’t do it otherwise. We stand like wee boys at school waiting for kick off while they do this, should we not be looking for something of our own pre-match? (See post no1)

Do you honestly think the players doing that before the game would stop Tavernier passing it straight to a celtic player before their goal and Lundstram having an absolute shocker?

Not quite the topic, players doing shite things will always happen and no amount of goodwill or support will stop that.

Nothing but nonsense out of you and this constant mentioning of them and their huddle.

    Huddle round this 🖕🏻

    soap dodgers dog.

It’s a thing that they do, that gives them a feeling of superiority. Like that? I certainly don’t but it has substance

See to be pretty honest for a minute, enough of the joking.

Those cunts are about to overtake our trophy counts, we're going to need to change songs, update signage, effectively take a big fucking step down, a humbling of the shittest nature if you will.

And all cunts can think about is the players should smile and wave more.

    I fucking despair honestly.

The message I’m recalling from days of yore, was that there was an air of ‘superiority’ from the players lining up on the centre of the pitch.

A ‘we are the champions’ style approach, which also intimidates opponents and makes them feel inferior (which in many ways is what celtic do with their pre-match huddle).

It’s not about smiling and waving to the Instagram Loyal.

In all fairness to the OP, what would build a bond with the fans is seeing the team show spirit, fight, desire, passion, and the ability to put teams to bed.

Getting back to winning ways will strengthen that bond, and certainly away from home continue to acknowledge the fans at the end who have turned up to support the team win, lose or draw.

Yes, almost a reverse of the painful at times walk round of players almost apologising for being shit at full time. Give the fans something to acknowledge before the game.

    Or it doesn't matter mate?

Bloody hell man, pull yourself together for the love of fuck.

Waving and smiling as a sign of togetherness, absolutely crackpipe stuff.

    Bed.

And for fuck sake I hope we win the league again rapid for everyone's mental health, Jesus Christ.

But it did matter. At one point it did.

The connection between the fans and players is at an all time low, I’ve never felt such a disconnect. The suggestion to bring back a pre-match ritual from successful times being met with such derision leaves me feeling quite disenfranchised with this forum

Waving to all four stands and then high fiving at the great success of the waving  hahaha

You and it seems, everyone else who has taken the time to respond to the post is either not old enough to recall the memory of this pre match ritual, or are simply not smart enough to give a response worthy to the post.

To simplify, should Rangers FC have a pre-match acknowledgement of the fans, or something similar to what celtic have with their huddle, in an attempt to promote and rouse our support pre match?

Aye mate when they high fived and waved I just thought look how together we are

I am encouraging a recollection of some good times of old from memory, where it felt the team had a connection with the fans and went out on the park to acknowledge this every other Saturday.
God knows what they would have felt seeing a response from RFC55, would probably have stopped them from attempting to play altogether

  11. In the 1980’s and early 90’s the Rangers team that took to the field would run out of the tunnel and align in the centre circle.

Facing each stand starting with main stand, the players would acknowledge the support with a wave and then go about their warm up and pre-match high fives etc

This was a great sign of togetherness and team spirit, which we seem to have lost in recent years.

Should we be looking to bring this type of preamble back to give the support the chance to cheer the team, to give our team the lift that the over promoted huddle does for the opposition?

  12. Playing style and formation are ok with the right attitude. Our players distinct lack of intensity will reduce the effectiveness of any system we select.

The manager looks like he prefers to stick with the 4231 option and will hopefully get players in with the right attitude and skill set to make this work.

  13. Must be one of the only players I can recall who can miss a penalty, but still takes the next one without any contest or decision taken to give another player the chance to become regular penalty taker

  14. He has had a good run in the team now and looks no more a goal scorer now, than when he first signed. Like his effort and he does have some good attributes, but we need a better player in that no 9 shirt
