  1. I remember watching him week in week out for 4 years, and just being in complete awe at everything he did.

As a particularly sad kid, I kept records of every game I watched through the 7IAR season, and I think I gave him MOM in 32 games of the season. Best player I have ever seen in blue.

  2. I would love to do something like this, but maybe wait a few years, I would tolerate 3-5 years of each stand being named after some sponsor or other for a couple of million each, or whatever we can get, to get us back on the level. Once it's done, then I would suggest Founders, Mr. Struth, Mr. Waddell and possibly Mr. Smith.

  3. The whole situation seems patently ridiculous. Any bid that wants to get into bed with a company who we may not know any money to seems crazy to start with (potentially saddling us with a debt that we do not need to have) secondly, trying to get more money from that same source, to then fund a share issue, and putting the final step as renegotiating how much to pay back to ticketus?

If this is any hint of a negotiation, TBK should be bringing ticketus to the negotiating table NOW, get the best deal for the future that they can, rather than waiting until we are completely under their control.

Every passing story from TBK makes it just look like a fiasco. The best I can say is that it seems to be well-meaning people, without the necessary funds, trying to make the best of it.

  4. Look, Sellic are going to win the league at some point in the next fortnight or so. As long as they dont win it on our patch then im not really bothered if its a Gers victory that seals it.

Dallas day lives on in my memory because we won in their own back yard. Couldnt really handle them doing it to us to be honest. :anguish:

I agree with all of that, it would just be a very weird feeling.

  5. Show me one team from this list of teams who have outplayed or beaten us this season who have a higher value squad, more resources and have spent more on players this season.

    Malmo

    Maribor

    Hearts

    Dundee Utd

    Falkirk

    St Mirren

    Kilmarnock

    Inverness Caledonian Thistle

    St Johnstone

Well, two of them start and end with the same letter, if we want to work on puzzlers, can you name the other clubs in Scotland who do?

  6. Let's be honest though, I have defended Ally as much as possible, but it was obvious to everyone that we needed to spend a good £15m minimum on the squad in the summer, otherwise we would fail to be competitive (I think Walter Smith said as much) and Ally clearly failed to do that. He clearly failed to identify that Cuellar and Juhasz would beef up the defence, failed to identify that a striker like Goodwillie would add a lot to our front line, failed to sign any players in the January transfer window, although it was obviously required.

Add to that, he seems to have struggled to keep the players focused on the league games over the last few weeks, for some reason.

Obviously, everything above is all Ally's fault, can't think of any defence for him at all with all of that?

I would have gone for the reasoned defence, but I'm bored of this daily thread, so today, it's sarcasm.

  7. The most amazing thing is that it took months for the SPL/SFA to even remotely think about doing anything with regard to the situation at Hearts, yet they jumped onto us in no time at all, in fact, they actually managed to investigate and report within two weeks! I seem to remember they used to take about 6 months to convene a hearing to consider a suspension for Marc Rieper a few years ago.

It stinks, beyond words. (well, almost)

  8. the 2 american bids are turnaround venture capatilists. Whyte seemingly made most his money abroad......

But that would mean.... anyone abroad, could be linked to Whyte.... must support Blue Knights and RST, they aren't in league with any outfits linked to the problems we are in, they must have a whiter than white bid.... hang on, I mentioned white, and that sounds like Whyte.. maybe they are a front for him?

  9. Personally, not a supporter of fan ownership in anything more than a small number to allow a degree of representation. My biggest concern is that you end up with a 'democratically elected' group of people who actually come from a little group, enjoy the power of the position on other fans' money. Also, not sure that we have the income base within Scotland to ever develop further as a club without some degree of consistent investment, which requires at least some degree of wealthy ownership.
