  9. SWTS.edinburgheveningnews.image.e Hearts in no rush to offload David Templeton Hearts are still to receive a formal offer from Rangers Hearts are still to receive a formal offer from Rangers By BARRY ANDERSON Published on Thursday 30 August 2012 11:03 HEARTS have yet to receive a formal offer from Rangers for winger David Templeton and are in no rush to sell the player, the Evening News can reveal. Charles Green, Rangers’ chief executive, has spoken with senior Tynecastle officials about the Glasgow club’s interest in Templeton, however Hearts are unlikely to entertain any bid less than £500,000. The Edinburgh club are reluctant to sell the 23-year-old before the transfer window closes tomorrow night and the only thing that would persuade them is what they would consider a “substantial fee”. Templeton’s contract expires next June and he is also being monitored by clubs in England. It is unclear at this stage if he would be willing to swap the Scottish Premier League with Hearts to play for Rangers in the Third Division of the Scottish Football League. Rangers manager Ally McCoist has long been an admirer of Templeton and believes the player could enhance his squad long-term. With a 12-month transfer embargo about to take effect on September 1, McCoist is keen to assemble an extensive array of players who will serve Rangers for the next year whilst reinforcements are forbidden. Green is expected to continue his discussions with the Hearts hierarchy and has also indicated that Rangers are monitoring Callum Paterson, the 17-year-old who has made a big impact at Tynecastle this year. Ahead of tonight’s Europa League play-off return leg with Liverpool, the Hearts manager John McGlynn admitted that, in general, any serious offer for any of his players would at least be considered by the club’s board. “Possibly we could lose players because that’s the state of affairs in Scotland. If that was the case we’d have to deal with it,” said McGlynn. “If we get young players coming through and they do well, then in the current climate I’d imagine Hearts will have to sell. It might crop up and we have to accept that and deal with it. I’m not convinced on either ins or outs, though.”

  11. having Dean shiels back will make a big difference
  12. I don't think you can put Sandaza in the panic buy category...he got 18 goals last season...he will come good
  13. Scott Burns ‏@ScottBurns75 #Motherwell fielded Andreas Labropoulos as a trialist today, although he is unlikely to be signed. He trained at #Rangers last week. #well
  14. i take your point but i really don't think we have a young left back who could come in
  15. He is playing fairly well...not all our under 21 players are good enough...Broadfoot played at left back in the champs league for us. FFS get off his back
  16. I agree it is great to have them at Ibrox but they have played well against part time players, lets just wait before we hype them up too much
  17. McCabe in my opinion was overated, he played well against Celtic at ibrox but had a nightmare against them at Parkhead....Ness however was a big loss, if he can stay fit he will be a massive player in the Prem
  18. As the title says i wonder what bomber is thinking now after today's events regarding season tickets. Being 30 years old i remember John Brown in the 9 in a row era, and the performance he put in against Leeds at Elland Road in 92, so in my eyes he will always be a legend, however i feel he let himself down over his "takeover bid" which has all gone very quite now. Is it now time that he came out and appologised to Charles Green and admit he was wrong?
  19. I agree we are desperate for wide players but McCulloch,Kyle and Sandaza are all fairly similar, no pace. Only barry mckay offers us that...I just think we are lacking another quicker striker to play off Jig,Sandaza or Kyle. I also know we have Little but I can see McCoist playing him wide right or even right back
  20. Anybody else think Darren Mackie could do a job for us...maybe for 2 years
  21. Kevin Macdonald only came on loan, played 3 games...doesn't really stand out as a weird one to me
