  1. This is ludicrous. Firstly, he SPL say that Rangers are not good enough to play with them but then impose their will on the SFL with a "if you don't do what we say, we'll bypass you and get our way anyway. Secondly, are the Div 1 clubs who have come out against Rangers playing in Div 1, prepared to boycott SPL2 if Rangers are playing in it? What a shambles. We are being asked to accept playing in Div1 under sanctions as yet to be agreed on. Surely this is unreasonable. How can a business agree to such terms? There has been much talk on RM on the financial side of Div1 as against Div3, but there is no guarantee that if we're in Div1 we wont be clobbered anyway. Putting us in Div1 seems to appeal to Charles Green. He may think that he can sell us quicker that way. It suits the SPL as the financial implications for Scottish football are better if we're kept nearer the top league. But does it really suit The Rangers? Looks like we're being forced into a lose/lose situation.
  2. This is my fear. Green can make cash in several ways. Maybe he thought that we would walk back into the SPL and keep most of our players. He'd then sell on. make some monet and disappear. Now that track is closed off, what is he going to do now? He may be hoping that by being quiet, we will fear the worst and that another bid will come in to rescue us from the predators. Again he makes some money and moves on. My fear is that the 3rd option is blame the football authorities, say that we cannot live in 3rd Div and survive as we are and sell the ground.
  3. I agree that it's time for a Rangers statement. Hopefully we will have considered that it would be known ahead of 4/7 that we would be voted down and that we have an sgreed strategy on what to do now.
  4. I fully expect now that the SPL teams will be lining up to say that as Rangers may have been victims of criminal behaviour, it would not be right for the SPL to veto their application and therefore the meeting on 4/7 has been postponed. In the interest of sporting integrity, Rangers will continue in the SPL. The SFA will follow this up by announcing that they have withdrawn all sanctions against Rangers. Naismith will say it was all a mistake and he would love to keep playing for us. Whyte will get the jail. Ally will get a knighthood.
  5. But you forgot, it's not about the money. They need to play at the highest level. Aye right.
  6. Ian has spoken from the heart. You know, reading this, that he means it. For a bluenose, playing for Rangers must be the pinnacle. Listening to Naismith, I wonder if he knows this and that he knows it will never be so good again. Yes he's ambitious and could well end up in the EPL but he's not going to be in with the big boys. He'll probably end up in a team that measures it's success by not being relegated or getting past the 3rd round of the cup. Most people here are giving him pelters but listening to him, I felt quite sad. Not for him as he can look after himself, but realising that this is probably the first of a wave of players who will be announcing their departure. How much more can we take? How much more can Ally and his team take? In the meantime the rest of the SPL are only too keen to get out their statements that they dont want us in the SPL and Charles Green gives no sign of having a Plan B. Dark days and probably darker to come. Sorry for the negativity.
  7. I don't think that Green is daft. He must be aware of the consequencies of decisions made. By now he knows that the SPL will not support our application so what is his Plan B? The fans want to know so how about it Mr Green. How about some statements from Ibrox.
  8. 2 down 3 to go. With Motherwell and Inverness almost certain to vote no, leaves 1 to go. Who will it be who kills off the SPL ahead of 4/7? What is then the point of the meeting of 4/7? It's not for the debate as they have already made up their minds. I dont follow the Div1 suggestion either. It's not in the gift of the SPL to offer Div1. We've applied to SPL. If they dont want us, it's up to us to say what we then want, not up to them to offer some consolation prize. You couldn't make up this farce.
  9. So Hearts have the honour of being first into the little black book. I just hope that the other clubs are as open in what they think of us. As Charles Green needs 8 to agree to us in SPL all it needs is another 4 to say they dont want us. Time for some public statements so we know where we are. No need to wait until July 4. Step forward and declare.
  10. It's not going to happen. Another stupid story. Next they'll be telling us that Nacho Novo will be playing for Scotland.
  11. Whenever you hear in the media that someone is "considering" this or that, you know it's not going to happen. It's a non story. Someone is trying to have a laugh at our expense. Kicking us when we're down. Ignore these people, but don't forget them. Put their names in the black book for future reference.
  12. Let's face it, Green is not going to go for Div3. It looks like we'll end up in the SPL and they will impose severe sanctions to ensure that we we will not win the title for a number of years. The SPL's greatest fear is that we are admitted and then win the title. They will ensure this will not happen. I wonder what Ally thinks about this?
  13. The SPL hate us so are unlikely to accept us back. If we end up in a lower league, what better way to enhance the image of Rangers than to befriend these teams who we meet. We can show them all that not only are the team good but the supporters are fantastic. Our supporters will become ambassadors for the club as they travel to those parts that have never witnessed the mighty Glasgow Rangers before. People will look on and say "Yes, they really are The People".
  14. With all the SPL lining up against us, Kilmarnock supporters being the latest to declare, it's difficult to see the SPL agreeing to us being admitted. However, as has been said many times on this forum, the SPL without us for 3 years would be financial death for a few of the clubs. But if we are not in the SPL, where do we fit in? If we then apply to the football league, who decides what division we are put into? Is it automatically the 3rd or will the SPL pull some strings to get us into a higher league? I'm sure teams in the 3rd div would be only too happy to have us for a year.
