  1. You are a bigoted numbskull mate. And as proof that not all fans think the way you do, watch your reputation dissolve. And you just sound like a twat. So I guess that makes us all equal then.
  2. I've been to plenty of matches mate and I hope to attend many more in the future too. But I have never sang a sectarian song in my life. I can't help the team I support. Blame my dad. If I thought the entire fan base was made up of mindless bigoted numbskulls, I would have given up a long time ago. But I know plenty of people who don't think the way you do and who are also supporters. I think this is a great chance for Rangers to win new friends and new respect, by showing our best possible face to the whole world. Maybe we might even win a whole new fan base too. All I know is that this is a watershed moment for this undeniably great club. Unfortunately though I hope you'll forgive me if I disagree, that hatred and bigotry are one of the things that make it great.
  3. You got a problem with that mate? I was still brought up in the backstreets of Glasgow, so I don't have to take crap from anybody. The point I was making is that not all Rangers fans are made up of backwards, bigoted, knucklheaded Neanderthals. Some of us would actually like to see the club move on and leave behind some of the more unfortunate parts of it's past history. If you bother to read other fan sites forums, it's the bigotry we are hated for most. Now seems like a really good opportunity to change this. I'm all for hanging on to our history and our victories on the field - and am unwilling to compromise on this for anyone. (Read my other posts if you don't believe this.) But if all the bigotry and hatred did go, I doubt you would find me grieving very much about it. I would be happy if all of Scottish football became more tolerant. I would love to see whole families and guys and their girlfriends and youngsters with their mates (both boys and girls), attend matches much more regularly in a warm friendly atmosphere, just as is the case when I watch the Toon Army play down my neck of the woods. I don't expect you guys will agree with any of this and that I will no doubt be called a 'Tim', or whatever (I'm actually an atheist for what it's worth). But I think I'll take our victories on the park and leave the rest of this stuff to you guys.
  4. Save it for Celtic. In fact as much as I love Rangers, this stuff is something I struggle with. But there's a section of people's views I don't agree with and there are guys who probably wouldn't agree with mine. I work in a senior position within one of the largest Universities in the UK, so asking me to get involved in this kind of stuff is a non-starter. But come on guys, the one thing Rangers needs now more than anything is an much positive PR as possible. Be on best behaviour. show why we are the best fans in the world. We don't have a gripe with most of these 3rd division teams, so why risk offending them? Why not make the most of the experience and make as many new friends as possible? They say this is about integrity, so lets show the world what real integrity is, by fighting our way out of this hole, from the very bottom to the very top!! Make it a story you will be happy to tell your grandkids!
  5. I don't know what you're talking about, but that doesn't sound so great. No giving up our right to appeal what? When the SPL take our titles and our cups from us? I can tell you for a start if that's all we have won, then that is no victory at all. Put it this way, the only way we will win is if the SPL drop all talk of this EBT and withdrawing titles crap completely. Even then if they still try, I for one think I speak for most Rangers fans in saying that they will have to come to Ibrox team handed, and will have to try to prize our trophies and other silverware from my cold clammy dead hands! Or put even more simply, this is never going to happen. So they can shove their right to 'appeal' right up their arses!
  6. I think you've missed the boat. No sellout on EBT's - as for TV rights and the rest, we will have to wait and see.
  7. Well I'm reading this and so far it doesn't sound like a sellout: http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2862682 Just an administrative thing to give them enough time to get the paperwork done. They left it late in the day, so this is understandable. Interestingly the SPL appear to have stepped aside from making the EBT thing a condition of membership. Obviously they decided they needed the money more. Green has made it clear that he intends to continue to fight our corner in this regard. So now we finally get to play football - and we can fight the rest as and when the opportunity comes up.
  8. I backed Green from the outset. Not because I trusted him 100%, but more because he at least seemed more credible than all the other wannabes. I mean look at all the guys who said they would step up and 'buy Rangers'. They wee all living a total fantasy - and if they had tried, I have no doubt the majority of them would have made a bigger hash of it that Whyte.
  9. I'm also sick of these guys saying that all the other clubs in Scottish football will have to 'cut their cloth accordingly' with Rangers in the 3rd, or even if (God forbid!) this Doncaster cunt refuses to sign. I mean it makes somewhat good sound bite for the media. But FFS, we are talking about potentially thousands of jobs being lost here. Fair enough if these fannies want to swan around in their big chauffeur driven cars and pontificate about how it would be better for everybody in the end. But you try telling that to all the guys who's livelihood depends on a strong vibrant, healthy Scottish football league. It's fucking dumb is what it is. They're going to make thousands of people redundant in the name of 'sporting integrity'? Would anybody care to explain to me exactly how that works? It's outrageous really. I swear to goodness this Doncaster prick needs to be (politely) reminded of exactly what he's dealing with here. By any measure this whole thing is dynamite, and of course we all remember what our parents warned us about when playing with dynamite as kids ...
  10. FFS! When will this end? What happens if this thing does 'go nuclear'? I mean what if the SPL won't back down over EBT's, even though they would be signing their own death warrant by not doing so? WTF are these guys on? Don't they know half of them will be out of jobs if they don't pull their thumbs out now? Not to mention the mass redundancies throughout all of Scottish football that would follow? It's a tough one. I don't expect anyone should follow me in this view. I think every man should make up his own mind for himself. I will also still support the club whatever decision is reached. Threatening to withdraw support from the club when it may be at it's weakest is just dumb and suicidal in my view. But personally, in my view, if push came to shove and the SPL don't back down, then I would be inclined to say fuck it! We may go down, but the whole house of cards will fall with us. I'm not saying take a year out, but I think we should stick to our guns regardless of the consequences. It doesn't have to mean the end. I mean we are all still here and we aren't going away. But they need us and they know they need us. Let's see how tough they all are when reality really starts to bite. I really can't get my head around this whole thing. Do they really hate us so blindly and so much that they would risk their own futures and the futures of a huge number of people in Scottish football, just so they can keep seeing us be punished? We have already taken every conceivable form of punishment in their imaginary rule book. Is it too much to ask that we should be left with some of our dignity and our history? Like I said guys, don't follow me on this. Make up your own minds. But why should these guys be allowed to rob us of everything, while saying they want us to pay them millions in TV rights for the privlidge of doing so? Also WTF would it take to get this prick Doncaster to sign? If I were in his position I would be quaking in my boots. If 40,000 seriously pissed off (mostly) Glaswegians can't persuade him to sign, then who the fuck can? How can he still even hope to live in Scotland if he doesn't put pen to ink soon? If he fucks our club, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who will be only too happy to give him more than a 'stern talking to.' One might even be tempted to say 'sign you cunt!' if they met him and could speak to him, but of course as we are all gentlemen, we might not put it so crudely ...
  11. So OK, I get that it's a tradition to call every new member a Tim. Pretty funny ...
  12. I reckon if they did ever try to take our trophies and our titles that they would have a huge job on these hands. I think if it came to it and they tried to get to the trophy room, that they should probably be greeted with 10,000 loyal fans minimum, who would set up a permanent watch on the trophy room. Of course with so many loyal and passionate fans in place, civil unrest of some description (although this should be avoided) may be extremely difficult to prevent. I think the only time they should be able to take away any trophies, is if they show up with the army. Even then I think it shouldn't be made very easy for them. I think if some supporters wanted to do something like this now, it would send a strong signal to the SFA about the consequences of their actions.
  13. This is just sectarianism feeding sectarianism. Pointless. Stay away and don't do it yourself. Problem solved.
  14. Yes but that was then and this is now. The SPL want their 2 million (and more)from the TV deals. If they can't have it they will strip Rangers of their titles and their right to play. Should anybody just give in to blackmail? Do the SPL own Rangers? Should they be allowed to dictate terms to us like this? They carp on about 'sporting integrity' - and then openly engage in an act of blackmail? What a load of bollocks this whole thing is.
  15. Speaking of which I would expect every man jack of a Rangers supporter to occupy the stadium if anything like that ever happened. I'm not saying it will. But these are mad times we're living in.
  16. I couldn't go with a year out. What investors in their right mind would stick around under those conditions? Owning a club that can't play is a non-starter - literally. It would be bulldozers at Ibrox next if that happened.
  17. He says he wants the 42. I believe him. I think he has the overwhelming support of the SFL for his position. This may well be a golden opportunity for Scottish football. We also have the advantage that if we can bring about the death of the SPL, then we will finally get some payback for the way we have been treated. Let all those fucks in the SPL who thought they could screw us over go to the wall. Let the SPL collapse because it can't pay it's debts to the SFL. I don't think this guy just has integrity - I think he might have a lot of brains (and balls) too.
  18. I didn't wish it. The second poster from the top may have wished it. But I don't want any transfer embargo at all. I accept that ultimately we may have no choice to sign, but I certainly don't wish it. Given that I don't wish it, then logically I can't wish for a court decision to fight it, as I don't recognise it as a legally enforcible sanction anyway. Let's see what the position is tomorrow. McCoist says he will go back and state Rangers position and that no deal has yet been signed. So lets wait and see what, if anything is agreed.
  19. It is the only sanction available to the SPL. They need their 2 million quid. I don't think you quite get the concept of blackmail.
  20. OK I just reread this guy's article again, much more closely this time and I'm starting to get a feel for who this guy is. http://www.<No links to this website>/football/sfl/2012/07/14/sfl-chief-david-longmuir-insist-fairness-won-after-newco-rangers-are-admitted-into-division-three-86908-23908297/ In particular pay close attention to his stated desire to change the structure of Scottish football. Based on what I've read, I'm going to make a prediction about tomorrow. The SPL are in crisis. The SPL must pay the SFL 2 million if it wishes to continue to play. But I don't think Mr Longmuir wants this. I think he sees an opportunity to do exactly as he has stated all along he wants to do, which is nothing less than a complete reorganisation of Scottish football. He knows he holds some significant cards. He can improve on the 2 million he gets from the SPL, just by having Rangers in the league anyway. He has openly stated he wants to end the dictatorship of the SPL. I think we should get behind him and give him a chance to do exactly that. I think this guy really does have a lot of integrity. I hope I'm not wrong. I hope he doesn't prove me wrong by giving in to the bullying of the SPL. I want him to bring the SPL to heel and to begin negotiations for a completely reorganised league. He says he wants the 42. I say we give it to him. This thing may all go tits up tomorrow. But if it goes tits up for us, then it's go tits up for everybody. At some point negotiations are going to have to start to begin the reorganisation of Scottish football. I for one think Mr Longmuir might be exactly the man for the job.
  21. Well in that case we are fucked on that count then aren't we? Except that McCoist also said that no agreement had been signed and that the SFA jumped the gun by implying that it had. I guess what was actually said and what will be agreed will all come out in the wash tomorrow. Maybe it's best to wait until then before declaring our demise?
  22. Death to the SPL! I say we negotiate with Longmuir for a revised league structure and a revised FA. What can they do if we just ignore them? They are on the brink of voting themselves out of existence. Let it happen is what I say. We get our revenge when the SPL dies.
  23. Yeah but that misses the point that that 2 million quid comes from Rangers in the first place. By holding on to the TV rights Longmuir holds all the cards - and could probably bring the entire SPL and SFL to boot if he wants. And that is exactly what I think he intends to do..
  24. It's my understanding that there was a draft proposal on the table that Rangers refused to agree to, that included the stripping of titles. That's what McCoist was saying when he left the meeting last week. This is now being used as the official SPL and SFA bargaining chip. Without it they have nothing and no power to force Rangers into parting with the 2 million quid that they need to keep functioning. It is outright, unmitigated blackmail. We are effectively being blackmailed for 2 million quid. How's that for sporting integrity?
