  1. For me it was easy. Follow follow. Rangers till I die. No surrender. We will fight till the day is done. We follow Glasgow Rangers, our hearts are strong and true. If they make them play on the streets then I'll support them from the pavements! We don't do walking away The Struth forecast about troubled times. These words are ingrained in my psyche! I remember 66 dying for the privilege of supporting us. So boycotts and the like never worked for me although I respect others views, and would wish to welcome you back now. I have revelled in the fact that I have followed through these troubles with colleagues at work waiting for me to break. They'll wait a long time. I was at school during Celtics 9IAR! I was born Rangers. I will die Rangers! I will be there no matter what! Some former players don't always go and I saw Carson talking about if John Grieg goes back then he will. Remember Grieg was treated badly but he perhaps does not have the business expertise required at a modern boardroom. Walter too. I love and admire them as I do Ally. But players and managers, they often leave. We are different. we are the permanence, the stability. We after all... are the people! Lily must be in her 80s.... sits behind me, she kept going and struggled to get here... though I've not seen her recently. So gentlemen, I give you Bobby Brown, one of our oldest surviving players and a regular attender. He supports the team. He's been around longer than all of us. We all should share that DNA. Lets get back with Bobby and support our team, our club, our players. B
  2. Sorry for your loss my friend. My Dad took me also and my son now sits on his seat.

  4. I dont know how to do poll Are you 1. Going to game and have a ST even though we've been shite and the Boardroom's a mess and will keep going to support the team 2. Paying at gate ( had ST last year) even though we've been shite and the Boardroom's a mess. 3. Paying at Gate because that's what you've always done. 4. Not going for personal finance or distance reasons. 5. Not going because performances are desperate! ( FFS ...i endured Celtics 9IAR) 6. Not going as a protest against Board. Im interested in what the make up on here is of Bears Im 1. Its a no brainer for me. Always will be. Lets have biggest support in scotland this year!!! Lets do it! B
  5. Big Peter --- The Girvan Lighthouse. I used to go on holiday to girvan and Peter had a sports shop which he worked in at times. Can't remember its name though might have been McCloys. Anyway, my Dad bought me a putter... Big Peter served us. I'm still crap at golf though. McCloy Jardine Mathieson Greig McKinnon Smith Henderson Penman Stein Macdonald and Johnson 2 3 5 Sorted! Thats the team I will remember when I'm old and demented.... not long to go then! or maybe Ferguson before Stein and a bit of Person on left wing.
  6. Just seen this on coops signature "If we (the fans and club) all unite together, we will make it!" - The late, great, Sandy Jardine Also "We don't do walking away" - Ally "I have been lucky — lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country. To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him.Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers." Struth "There are probably one or two people out there enjoying it, maybe one or two people having a wee fly kick. I would suggest to them to give a right good kick just now because we will not be where we are for long." Ally "If They play on the streets we will support them from the pavements" Who said it?? (My favourite) "WATP" - Us repeatedly and Ally when we won league last term "RTID" Us "No surrender" - Us Please post your own favourites. No moans. Sandy wanted us to unite. If its good enough for Sandy... it's good enough for me
  7. Hey Custer thats a good point but I was trying to just have a bit of fun. Im ok with all our songs... i grew up with them. Youll see i scored them neutral ... i just don't sing them personally I try not to swear either....lol.... though it's been fuckin hard this year. I have no problem with Derrys walls and the Sash or Fathers advice.... though i prefer them without the addons nowadays ... but i still prefer songs with Rangers in them I think the FTP and the Fenian blood bits no longer do our club any favours irrespective of individuals viewpoint and we should move on from them. ... but Im not like mock offended. Derrys walls to tune of amazing grace is an all time favourite and all the bluebells are blue makes me smile like a child
  8. Ahhhhh Sandy... a good point. Yes I am and yes i did but now....no I don't I have a 16 yo son i take to games and he is fanatical about our club as I was. My children have taught me to move on They have more tolerant values than I had t heir age and I respect them for it. ....I do miss The Billy boys though
  9. u think reading it was bad.... try writing it.... had loads of ideas and got fed up. Doesnt support table format B

Im happy with that.... now what sorta tattoo........
  11. My loyalty is not blind... it has no buts...it is an absolute I do not do walking away. Not now. Not ever. If they play on the streets I will watch them from the pavements. Im Rangers till I die. I follow follow. I don't surrender. I don't just sing these songs... I feel it in my blood. It courses through my veins. I am a shareholder. There are other shareholders. If King wants change then by shares. Blue Pitch and Marguerita would get out now I'm sure.... whoever they are. its not all Board bad... King good... it's complicated... we know that. Im from Thornliebank, working class background and a more Rangers place you'll never find. My degree and job and lifestyle would suggest I'm not blind. I thing i'm a reflective Human being. I'd like to think i'm astute and thoughtful and can see shades of grey in life. I am not pro Board. They will change. However on reflection The Easdales (putting aside any background innuendos) are supporters.. and have invested heavily... more than King (I appreciate he did before) or Murray or Gough or whoever. they have given an interest free loan and take no payment... so in my eyes.... they cant be all bad. That doesn't mean they are all good. Wallace. His salary is commensurate with what CEOs get. We need someone who can move us forward. We simply would not get a football CEO for 250K with experience required for a club of our size. I think he is well paid... perhaps overpaid. King. His tax case in SA attracted damming indictment from the judge. He was on the Board when we lurched into this financial crisis or at least was a major shareholder. His plans are not coherent So these 3 players... have good points ... and bad points. I think they should all take a good look at themselves. meanwhile. I will support the Club I love. I will voice my concerns about the finances at the AGM as I do. A friend asked me how bad they would have to be before I stopped going. The answer to that for me is simple. I will never stop going, because I mean what i say. I'll support you evermore. These are the hard times guys and we are being divided by the media and by Celtic and by the Board / King / Murray antics. Say strong, put an arm round your fellow bears, bu them a ticket if you can afford it. We stand strong if we stand together. I'ts our club. It's ours. Not theirs. I implore you guys to keep going. I dont care if you buy a ST...just keep going. When we're back... no one will call me a glory hunter again. Ally said... when we looked in the abyss ... the abyss blinked. Sound bites ARE important. Now is not the time for us to falter. We must not blink. Those that want us to fail are now salivating at the prospect of us leaving our club.... do not give them the pleasure. B RTID Thornliebank
  12. ....and despite all thats happened and will happen.... I will not change my mind from original post. Support the Club!!! I was wondering what might make me not renew.... and the answer is Nothing!. Simples
  13. Thanks for the kind comments my friends. I've noticed other posts talking about blind loyalty and being taken for granted. Loyalty is an absolute . It has no conditions. It is not blind. It is simply Loyalty through thick and thin... for better or for worse. It is not for the good times...it is for all the the times. there is no suffix of but at the end of loyalty. We are the one fans group in the world where the word Loyalty is most prevalent. We have astonished the world with our support through our journey. we could have lost our club guys but we didnt't. We will prevail. We can do this...all of us ... together. The Board... the manager... the players.... will come and go... some good and some bad. We tend nowadays in the social media to categorise them as heroes or demons... like the ones who left... Naismith etc... but now some of you are talking of not going. If they have a blue jersey on Ill support them. If they once wore a blue jersey and made a mistake and left... i will welcome them back. If you decide not to renew I will welcome you back. I understand that for some people it's difficult. I'm loyal yes.... but I'm no mug. Current board v Dave king Ally v Which new manager These unfortunately are not Good against evil choices. I feel we are close to change. Maybe not for a while. Blind Loyalty.... please don't demean my belief in our club with the prefix blind B
  14. Its gonna be tough guys....but THIS---->>> Govan Rear GR4 Row K Seat 0112 I have been going from age aged 6 ...every season. I'm 53. Bill Struth talked of troubled times. Our motto is Ready and our Cry IS No Surrender and Follow Follow. I have watched Celtic win 9 in a row, and Davie whites humiliation against Gornik. I have watched Gazza and Laudrup light up my saturdays. It's who I am and what I do. I follow. I support. Its unconditional. It's like the love you can have for a child. Nick Hornby talks about it eloquently in his book when he was 6 too I think and he realised Arsenal was in his blood and that this love would outlast his marriage. I have been privileged to support Rangers. It has been an honour. I look at the Thistle and Dumbarton supporters and admire them for their dedication ....to their "Club" This is the essence... i go to Ibrox to support that nebulous entity ... "Rangers Football Club." McCoist has been disappointing and the players disappointing... and I am disappointed.... but I will never stop going or make ultimatums... never. RTID is a phrase I use and I mean it. I understand the pain... we should make it bond us. Its funny you know...im a low poster but pop in here and read daily... Some posters in thousands or with names like loyal dis the likes of me because we don't have "many posts" but are now talking about not renewing till Ally goes. The measure of the supporter not how much they support but how much they post seemingly. We are an easy club to support in the good times but the measure of us is now... loyalty in the hard times. Struth knew these times would come because that is what life is like. He gave us warnings that hard times would come round. The elders amongst us will realsie the se happenings in our personal lives or marriage. I support our "Club" and I will not hold them to ransom. The current Board are unimpressive, McCoist unimpressive, the players unimpressive, however we the fans have been outstanding in terms of support and a little disappointing in our ability to show some cohesiveness. By all means be unhappy with Board / manager and players and show your displeasure if you feel necessary. GOAT ... i don't know you but you're clearly passionate and angry. Perhaps I'm older, and having suffered their 9 as a teenager I'm more patient. Think again my friend. Ally will go soon.. his time is nearing, Unless there is a miraculous turnaround which even I don't see. Try and support our Club... evermore... use you passion to galvanise us. ( For the record I have no connections with Board and think our custodians have been poor since Murray lost interest. My view on Ally is at best ambivalent but I will shout for the team and manager on a saturday. This is not a call to renew season tickets but to inspire you just a little to keep going to games next year. If your in GR then say hello hello!) I know some of you may not renew or may use King's scheme... which is fine and I won't dis you for it, because these are trying times... but believe me ... if you can grit your teeth and hang in for the rest of the journey it will taste all the sweeter when we get there. I know this was not the journey we imagined and the board appear to take us for granted... I'm simply supporting the "Club" I love. I returned from Ibrox today disappointed with result and the last 2 seasons in general. my wife said it's not been a very entertaining season has it. "I know," I said, " If I wanted entertained though, I'd go to the theatre... but I go to support Rangers... cos that's what I signed up to age 6" She sighed of course but I trust that most of you might get it. Disappointed but Loyal and still following Struth "Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers."

  16. ...and its not blind loyalty... loyaly is an absolute... and needs no qualification.... if you're loyal you're loyal and if you're not you're not. If you accept this principle then you should go (& buy ST if you can afford to)

  18. Number 3 was the original... I have it on old LPs. The offensive version was an amendment to the original words to wind them up in the same way the original sash didnt have FTP in it.. so Number 3 all the way... i can sing it with my young son!! 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3
  19. HULLO! HULLO! WE ARE THE RANGERS BOYS! (BILLY BOYS IF YOU INSIST) HULLO! HULLO! YOU'LL KNOW US BY OUR NOISE! WE FOLLOW GLASGOW RANGERS! OUR HEARTS ARE STRONG AND TRUE! (These lines are originals from old album) WE ARE THE PEOPLE (who) SUPPORT THE BOYS IN BLUE! I take my son to the games. I want a song we can sing together loud and proud I dont want it to to have swearing or sectarianism or anything that can be interpreted as such in it. Give them no opportunity to complain. Lets be above reproach. BUT LETS BE LOUD!! Lines 5 and 6 are originals from an old album True and blue rhyme.... and we've squeezed in WATP.... whats not to like!!!
  20. I note the person promoting the Fans group "Supporters Direct Scotland" is a Paul Goodwin. He is promoting a Fans buyout of clubs which intrinsically I'm comfortable with. Whether its suitable for our club is another question and what his agenda is is also a question for another day. Another different Paul Goodwin was jailed for fraud http://www.heraldsco...0-scam-1.144919 The main aspects of the case in the herald are as follows "Temporary judge Roderick Macdonald QC, told Goodwin: ''You are a shamelessly dishonest man. There is nothing that can be said in your favour. ''You repeatedly breached the trust of clients by not investing the money with which they had provided you. ''You appear to have shown no remorse or contrition for what you did. The sum involved was enormous and I take particular note of the fact that this was not a crime of deceit practised on some impersonal organisation. ''Your victims were all ordinary people with little or no knowledge of financial affairs or the investment world. Your conduct can only be described as loathsome.'' The judge pointed out that, on the very day financial regulators arrived at Goodwin's office to investigate the allegations of dishonesty, he had the effrontery to go to the bank, where he embezzled another £ 90,000 of client's money. Goodwin has already served an 18-month sentence for attempting to defraud an elderly couple out of insurance policies, and yesterday Mr Macdonald also disqualified him from acting as a company director for 15 years. Some of Goodwin's victims have received compensation from cash recovered by liquidators and the investors' compensation scheme, but others are thousands of pounds out of pocket. After a five-week trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, a jury convicted Goodwin, 34, of Kilmory Avenue, Uddingston, of embezzling £ 796,746 between September 1993 and May 1996. Clients of Goodwin's firm, Caledonian Investments, of Carlton Place, Glasgow had handed over compensation received after crippling accidents, or cash they hoped would be invested to provide security for their old age. Instead of investing the cash, Goodwin ploughed it into his own business ventures, which included a deal to sell car insurance and financial products to Celtic fans, but the club severed all connections with him shortly before the collapse of his business in 1996." I know the 2nd Paul Goodwin because I was involved in business deals with him and when I saw the name connected to SDS I was intrigued. I cannot remember his face. I would not wish to make any unfair connections and tarnish the good work the 1st Paul Goodwin is doing with SDS.... but is anyone able to check this out.
  21. There is NO bigotted undertone... it is a song you can sing in any company... with my kids... wherever.
