I’m trying to be objective. I think the Tim’s have done reasonably well against a supposed top team but I don’t think Madrid are as good as the results suggest. They may have won it last year but basically rode their luck in every knockout round where they were largely outplayed by every opponent but managed to win . Yes I know winning is all that matters in the end but I think there are several teams out there that are better football sides than Madrid and that would beat the Tim’s with ease .

They’ve been decent rather than very good imo. Shot of the post was unlucky but has Courtois been really troubled apart from that? Madrid have been happy to just boss possession for the most part without much effort being expended.

Appalling decisions in those games. One of the reasons I’m completely against VAR is it doesn’t eliminate mistakes it just transfers them from a dickhead ref on the pitch to another dickhead in a little room somewhere. In the meantime fans can barely celebrate a goal because they know someone is looking for an excuse to disallow it.

Hardly a surprise. £50 a ticket is till cheaper than the cheapest ticket for a decent English premier league match and it’s more like £90 for a good seat. What should happen though is they should take each game at a time out the bank to spread the cost.

I was seeing Roofe as a third. Very decent option if fit . I suppose the if fit bit is the problem . I’d also like a look at our youngster from the B team in domestic games .

I’d settle for Alfredo knuckling down, signing an extension, realising he could really showcase himself in the CL and competing with Colak to score a huge amount of goals to get that big league move he wants.
