  1. Not necessarily. If the players we bring in as replacements are well scouted and at the right age it is possible to finance further success through a sensible transfer policy
  2. Yes and clearly we wont be spending while we are at the mercy of the bank. I'm suggesting short term pain so that we can eventually put out a sustainable winning team
  3. Lol fair enough. I reckon we should capatilise on our assets while their price is high. Personally think Boogie wants to go anyway and Shagger is a matter of time.
  4. I posted ages ago that we should sell players and pay off the whole debt or at least a huge chunk then start again on our own terms. Boogie, Shagger, Miller out for 15mill and bring in cheaper/younger guys such as Gilks, Eremenko, Gomis, Goodwillie
  5. Thats a whole other thread but it has certainly gone quiet on that front! Dejavu?
  6. I agree it will be Ally its a hypothetical question. Allardyce i'm sure I read employs some forward thinking training and fitness methods
  7. I think there are similarities in style between the two. Blackburn are up against it most weeks in the EPL whereas Rangers start most games as favourites. Maybe Allardyce would play a more attacking style in Scotland and a conservative style in Europe similar to our present gameplan
  8. If Whyte takes over he might want his own men in charge. Sam Allardyce is available and plays a style of football based on getting the best out of hard working players. Would he be a good fit for Rangers?
  9. Mateja Kezman? 31yr old with no club
  10. Michael Tonge? No thanks, hasn't kicked a ball in years. Potentially the next Jeffers if we go down this road
  11. Good player but not a chance in hell. Eremenko is a realistic playmaker target but thats a whole other thread!
  12. I'd take Eremenko in an instant. He has the vision to play a through ball and can shoot. His game awareness and ease on the ball is natural and Davis aside we don't have that in our team. Get him signed!
  13. McGregor 6m Whittaker 2m Weir 0 Bougherra 6m Papac 1m Weiss 5m Davis 6m Edu 2.5m Naismith 3m Jelavic 4.5m Miller 1m
  14. Mr Collum will need to have a blinder in the Old Firm game. A Catholic RE teacher who wears a Crucifix hanging from his whistle? Best of luck Mr Collum you'll most likely need it. And for the avoidance of doubt i'm not saying he will have any bias only that he's left wide open to the suggestion and perception can sometimes be everything. Lets hope we are talking about a good result and performance after the match and not the referee.
  15. Just noticed the other thread, sorry admin close this one.
  16. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11800_6350439,00.html Cesena for 1 million euros. Disappointing but lets hope there are other irons in the fire
  17. I think this is unusually lazy from Sky, he's a Celtic target if anything, doubt we're interested
  18. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_6320139,00.html sky has us going for him. no quotes
  19. mcgregor whittaker bougherra weir papac davis edu weiss barazite miller beattie/jelavic
  20. Tommy Smith = waste of limited resources. He'll soon be on the biggest waste of money thread. I've said before we should only signe guys about 26/27 and under in our position unless theyre free and exceptional
  21. Danny Wilson is a centre back, excellent composure on the ball, good passer, particularly good at the old Beckham 'quarter back' pinged pass across field, good timing in the tackle so rarely makes bad fouls, needs to put some strength work in but will fill out naturally, is never going to be a beast like micah richards but is a good athlete, could also improve his starting position at times but again given his age and experience this will come. 2 seasons time he could be in your team regularly if he develops as expected. this season he'll be a carling cup player.
  22. This may be simplistic but surely while Murray is still the majority shareholder his tax problem is our problem until we are sold. Can you imagine we actually get the debt down to a decent level by selling like we have been only to be put back to square one or worse. RM directors please get Boss or someone on here to explain this whole tax thing to the financially thick like myself!
  23. I assume these things take years to sort out on appeal but has anyone ever actually put a bill infront of Rangers or are we still under investigation? How can we plan our spending if we dont know our debt?
  24. Anyone know when we're likely to find out if we owe more tax or get some sort of update? Its all gone quiet on that front.
  25. When Walter said he hoped to have a couple of players in before we went to Australia he must have been misquoted because what we got was a couple out! I'm hanging onto the hope that we have a surprise or two up the sleeve
