In time people will think of Zidane in the likes of the Pele's, Maradona's, Cruyff's, Beckenbauer's. I have always thought he was brilliant but I only started watching him until he moved to Real. As I was only about 9-10 I didn't pay much attention to him. But Brissy that is the first proper vid of Zidane I have seen and for a man coming to the end of his career that was phenomenal. The likes of Ronaldo etc will just get worse with age as they lose their pace. Zidane on the other hand got better with age imo. They may fantastic now but will only get worse with age. It has already been proven with Ronaldinho as he was only a was only a 3/4 season wonder at best. Zidane just kept getting better the longer he went on. That alone should make this discussion void as the two alone shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentace. Zidane was far superior. He just dominated in that game and as a football fan it was just a sheer pleasure to watch. As far as Danny saying Figo was better he had a couple of good seasons then seemed to disappear. "The Ronaldo" was a great player and if he weren't plagued by injuries I'd rate him up there but as it was he struggled for a lot of his career. A lot of these flashy South American players are good for a couple of seasons but then they get injured, or they lose their pace or people just start learning how to play against them and they're never the same. What made Zidane the best for me was he was good throughout his entire career and he wasn't just flashy, he could dominate the game physically and influence those around him. As you saw in the video his passing game was a lot better than some of these flashy players as well. Of course it all comes down to opinion but I think Zidane will stand the test of time a lot more than these others. I would say he is already in that group, he was a phenomenal talent, Figo was good but not consistent enough. And Ronaldo should have been in that category had it not been for injuries. The guy would have scored 30+ a season. Stupid 1998 World Cup final!!!!

More so than either Xavi or Iniesta? Ha ha now your putting me on the spot!! I just think that Essien can play defensive, central or attacking midfielder. Not so sure the barca boys could do all 3, thats not to take anything away from them tho, they are both amazing and would walk in to any team in the world. But hey ho thats just my humble opinion. You know what I mean?? Whats your thinking Danny?? Well we had a chance to compare directly when Barca and Chelsea met - apart from his goal, Essien did little to suggest he's more capable than Xavi or Iniesta. Both were qucker than him, better on the ball, and passed the ball a lot more accurately. I remember at the Camp Nou watching him try to saunter forward and he was slow and cumbersome on the ball, before Iniesta mugged him with ease. He is very specifically, imo, a defensive midfielder. Apart from stopping them from playing - 1 shot on target. Wasn't that the entire remit of Hiddink's tactic? 11 men behind the ball? I don't think you can exclusively credit Essien with stopping Barcelona from scoring. I do believe essien to be a more all round midfielder but that doesnt mean I think hes better. I think hes comfortable being asked to play in any midfield position. where as xavi or iniesta wouldnt be comfortable sat deep in front of the back 4. I do believe that xavi and iniesta are the best at what they do and to have them in the same team, well just look at the season Barca had!!!

Just won the spanish league in the third season. Balotelli banged in 22 goals but Villa got 41 in 44 games all season. I hate that hes about to turn 30!!!!!!!

Its put straight back into the box. VIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! But no its been disallowed, GUTTED!!! 97th minute (still injury time) Sergio Ramos scores a 30 yard screamer (the Oooooomph pure inspiration type) Am well gutted, I hate and love this game at the same time!!!!!

When will people stop blaming Rangers for him being sold, HE instigated his buy out clause to make the move to Villa, Rangers didn't have a choice on the matter. At least the money was given straight back to Walter letting us buy a couple of more players which won us the League and Scottish Cups, and let's be honest we haven't exactly missed Cuellar with Boogie being there and us still having the best defensive record in the SPL. Totally agree with you mate. The minute we were knocked out of Europe, Cuellar wanted to leave and demanded a transfer. So what could we do!!!

Anyone ever went Valencia?? All I ever get is bloody injuries!!! Despite this managed to get 3rd in my first season and am 4th midway through 2nd season, just need Villa and Silva and Milevskyi to stay fit!!! Any tips on how to get the best out of Veloso, blows hot and cold for me. When hes good hes amazing but then he has a fair few games where he averages less than a 6. Not that it matters this season he has a broken leg!!!!
