  1. People chanting 4-0/5-0 are far too confident, just can't see it being that scoreline.

If it's goal less at half time then I can see the fans becoming annoyed and getting on the players back, which will work right into Motherwells hands.

Need to be patient and any win tomorrow will do me.

Exactly, hopefully the players have their feet on the ground and are fully focussed on another professional performance. If that turns out to be a resounding win then hats off to them, but until this tie is out of sight I'm taking nothing for granted.

  2. If they formed the bulk of our team we'd be in a battle for top 6.

You're probably right, but if our out of contract players leave as expected, our own youth players aren't particularly good and we gave to assume we aren't going to have 30m to spend on transfer fees for a new squad where we can offer 10k a week easily then what other option do we have?

I know that many seem to think we'll challenge for second spot next year but I can't see it happening that fast unless we make some incredibly shrew moves in the transfer market.

The fact I've been corrected in some of the players listed i.e. Kevin holt, shows that we have probably missed out on any gems for free transfers and we need to move fast.

  3. Doing some digging around on the net I've found a list of young players out of contract this summer. I'd like to see us make moves for these guys to form the bulk of our team and look to sign a few key players for a fee to give us a core that we can build upon.

Aidan Connolly (left wing)- Dundee Utd

Gregg kiltie (left wing) - Kilmarnock

Liam polworth (central mid) - ICT

John McGinn (Central/left mid) - St Mirren

Kevin holt (left back) - QotS

Daniel Carmichael (right/left wing) - QotS

    Gavin Reilly (striker) - QotS

Jack grimmer (right/centre back) - Fulham

Calum butcher (centre back) - Dundee Utd

Marley Watkins (left wing) - ICT

Kallum Higginbotham (right mid) - Patrick thistle

Nick Ross (attacking mid central) - ICT

Ali Crawford (left/central mid) - Hamilton

Mark Durnan (right/centre back) - QotS

I'm not suggesting we should buy all of these players nor that they will be full internationals or get sold on for money. I just think that some of these guys could help to bulk up the squad when the dozen or so out of contract players leave. I doubt their salaries would be that large and no transfer fees involved.

Would you sign any of these

  4. Some people don't understand.

Rangers HAVE to explore all their options now. They're planning a complete rebuild in the off-season. Can't wade into that without a permanent manager, whether that's Stuart McCall or not, there has to be a plan in place to immediately begin the process of a stronger team for the following season.

If we weren't talking to other candidates etc at this moment, I'd be worried.

If we were automatically promoted then fair enough. I just hope the squad and McCall aren't unsettled too much or we could be in the championship again.

  5. Jelavic if we could but we can't, so forget that one.

Going to be hard to find someone that can do that and we can afford them, also depends on our division next year. If we don't get up forget any well known players.

It needs to be someone that right side of 30 as well.

  6. Motherwell are pish. We beat them in the 3rd div with a team miles poorer than our current squad, so I can't see them being a problem.

Lets face it, they are fucking Shite, plus our manager knows all of their players weaknesses.

So, mind when we all said we would boycott all the Spl teams who stabbed us in the neck (I include Kilmarnock)

Is there still a willingness to boycott these teams?

I haven't forgotten what they done to us, so I will NEVER step foot in any of their grounds.

Though I know some, if not most of you have let go of your grudges, is anyone else up for this?

    At least for one season?

Crazy that people on here talking like we are through already. I'm not taking anything for granted with the playoffs.

As for boycotting I think we are far better gaining revenge by dominating Scottish football once again.

  7. I still remember de boer giving a masterclass in ball control at tannadice where the pitch was like a minefield, think he scored a couple and assisted 2 . The guy was different class and his attitude and swagger made it all the more impressive, a true superstar player. Although I would have classed him as a midfielder more than an attacker. The fact he scored so many was because he was that much better than everyone around him.

That would be the highlights at 4.30! Just saw the title of the video and posted before watching it. Doubt we'll see class of that calibre again.

  9. I'm on the fence here. On one hand McCall and Black have done so well for turning things around but I feel we are only now doing what most decent management teams do. It seems unfair if he leads us to promotion that he doesn't get at least another year.

The other half of me thinks that mccall may be enough to steady the ship but is he the man to take us forward and play an attractive style of football. Yes there have been improvements and perhaps with his own players things would be better still but I'm just not convinced.

It's an incredibly tough call for the board to make......just don't give it to billy davies or terry butcher.

  10. That'll be Souness that had no managerial experience...

I had meant the impact of souness not specifically someone who will be a player manager, have had no past experience.

I'm just saying that at the moment no names being mentioned either fill me with confidence or excite me.

Taking a punt on inexperience can be rewarding i.e. Souness or it can be damaging i.e. Mccoist, that's the gamble and I don't think we can afford a gamble however I don't think McCall is the man to start a revolution the way souness did.

  11. I don't care what Warburton did before his current 18 month stint as a manager, he's a rookie and barely above Cathro in terms of experience. We need proven experience for the Rangers hot seat.

If McCall gets us up in the Premiership, he has proven he's good enough. I just hope he doesn't read these destabilising headlines.

Got to agree, he's had less than 100 games in management.

I think McCall has done well and it would be harsh if he got promotion then didn't get the job, but I personally don't think McCall is the right person to start a revolution at the club. We need an appointment reminiscent of souness. Who that would be? I honestly don't know.

  12. Does he have one year left on his contract at Newcastle ? Ashley will want to cash him in to the highest bidder and will he want to sell him to Rangers...

Fairly certain he has a year left. It's certainly not up this summer....think streete is out of contract though if he can't get a game now he is fit I doubt we'd sign him.

Ashley won't care about who he sells him to, as long as he gets as much as he can get. Which rules us out I think.

Really want to see Newcastle relegated just because I can't stand Ashley, however if they get relegated they may well keep and play vuckic if other players leave.
