He's had 3 or 4 seasons to build a title "challenging team" and still fell very short. In three season the team hasn't changed that much. Think he would be a short term fix but could he do it in Europe. Celtic have Rodgers and he's managed to get the likes of dembele and Sinclair. Could he do the same ?

To be fair, he's done it on a shoestring. Was never going to be able to compete with Aberdeen.

Heard last night through a family friend who is a sports journalist that the chat internally at rangers is that there was money in January but the didn't trust Warburton.

If there is any slight truth in that then use it to sack him n get somebody in who can galvanize a team.

What could their plan be in that case? Let him dig himself into a massive hole and hope he walks away? That's a bit of a gamble.

  3. I think another problem is we play with no intensity. With it without the ball. Our second goal came from Windass chasing down their midfield and pitting them under pressure. Teams always press us and it works because the players are shite and can't cope. But when we decide to do the same it works even better because the rest of the league are ever shitter. We just don't do it enough for me. It's amazing to see how little time our players have on the ball vs how much time the opposition have in possession.

It's tough to criticise two goal Kenny, but there are so many times he drops deep and when the wingers get the ball in good areas there is no one in the box to fire an early ball to,

I think we need a focal point up front and Kennys not that type of player. I don't think we have anyone big enough and strong enough to take the ball in and hold it up etc - Waggy would probably be the closest to it but maybe too short. If we could sign Diego Costa on a free and £7k a week then he would be perfect!

That said Warbs is all about the front three interchanging so it's maybe not something he's looking at.

I think what you said last is spot on. Everyone's saying we need a goal scorer but I don't know if a goalscorer has a place in this team (not the kind we could afford anyway.) Kris Boyd is probably the ultimate goal scorer and I don't think for a second he would get anywhere near this team under Warburton.

He was about the only player taking the game to Motherwell today and should have had a penalty.

Yeah I agree. He's not the greatest player to be honest but when he's on the pitch he's usually the most dangerous and direct player we have, although most of the time his runs come to nothing, it's better than what the rest do which comes to nothing anyway.

"We have improved in the last 18 months"

Aye very good Davie, pull the other one it's got bells on.

I honestly can't believe just how far apart the managements view of our team and our view is.

He's right though. 18 months ago we had failed to get promoted from the championship. Now we're 2nd in the premiership.

And im guessing but I'm sure their view of the team isn't that much different from ours, but they can't exactly come out and say "the majority of the squad isn't good enough right now" can they?

The worry for me is if MW did get money from somewhere is that he would blow it on more shite.

I suppose it's a valid worry but there's no evidence he would waste it until he's given some real money to spend. The players he's brought in have been shit, I agree, but that's what you get with loans and free transfers. For me he needs some real money to spend to see what he's made of. It's a gamble but it would be a gamble with anyone else given we don't have much at the moment.

The problem is if young quality players are in a team that's getting gubbed every week they'll start to hide. Strikers will look for the pass instead of taking the shot. Midfielders will take the back pass or sideways pass rather than try the defence splitting pass. And defender will be looking for the Andrex every time there's a corner.

I'm not sure how our "old young" players are doing on loan but I'd be looking at getting a few back

To me that would show whether or not they can cut it in the first team. You don't want players that hide or play safe passes as soon as the going gets tough.

I think he should get to end of season.the chances we created in first half should have been enough to win the game, but it's just not happening in front of goal,we got to find an answer for all of the chances we create then we might start getting results.today wasn't good enough though.

I didn't think we actually created that many chances, especially in the second half. 2 or 3 half decent chances isn't enough over 90+ minutes.

It isn't. Continuity is key. Changing the manager after 12 games? Le Guen was hounded out for trying to change the way football is viewed in this country. The same will happen to Warburton

I'm all for playing nice football but when there's 94 minutes on the clock and your back 4 are passing it amongst themselves, then something isn't right. That's not good football. That's just stupidity. I'm certain Barcelona would be more direct under those circumstances.

I know europa league doesn't bring in millions, but games in the europa league will bring in extra income in other ways. It's the only option we really have to make any extra income. We could try punting a few players, but who the fuck would buy the ones we don't want and we don't want to lose the ones we do. Investment is what we need but isn't happening, so what else can we do?

Europa League football would attract a higher standard player you'd imagine.

They don't need to come in here to have a laugh.

    They signed BR for £5mil

    He brought in more quality.

They are in the CL with a £30 mil windfall.

They sit top of the league with a game in hand.

If the four teams below us win their game in hand we go 6th and if Thistle win their two games in hand we go 7th.

They pumped us 5-1 with ease.

They know that we are pratted and that we cannot compete with them both on and off the park.

Fuck, they're well laughing before they get anywhere near here.

Am I missing something or have all the teams not played 5 bar Celtic and Partick who are bottom on 3 pts?

Knew I would miss a couple

Tried searching for the fees but getting some sites claiming Tav and Waghorn were bosmans.

Also, Kiernan's fee goes between 200k and 400k depending on which site you believe.

Dodoo as well. Think he was 250k too, can't remember.

Yesterday hurt, it hurt like fuck, still does and will continue to do so for the next god knows how long, and part of that is because imo the light at the end of the tunnel is fucking miles away

Ive seen some on here say its happened before we'll recover, others saying we've lost before and we'll lose again, dust ourselves off etc, but if they are honest with themselves they will see that we have never suffered such a devastating blow in an old firm game, for a number of reasons

Ive seen us lose by 4 goals to that mob 3 times now, Venglos did it, The leprechaun did it and now the tranny lover did it, but yesterdays leaves me feeling more dread than the other two combined

Venglos' win was a freak result in a season where we won the league at their shitehole and dominated scottish football, it was hard but it meant nothing, we stayed top after it and remained there for the season

O'Neills win hurt like fuck because as champions we were dismantled, however the squad was still full of experienced pros and winners, Fergie, Tugay, Dodds, Klos, Albertz, Reyna amongst others, that squad took a beating but you knew the squad had ability at this level, eventually it needed a managerial change to get the bets out of them but it was a squad brimming with talent that just got battered on the day

Our squad now has neither of the above reasons to fall back on, the result has been coming, and our squad neither has the experience or the ability of playing at this level, Miller and perhaps Wallace aside, who else has played in a squad where every single game is a must win

Barton: nope, mid table jobber guy who played for teams that if they lost it was expected most of the time
    Krancjar: same as above
Senderos: Arsenal aside, same again, and he was routinely slaughtered at arsenal for being shite
    Hill: As above

Thats the experienced guys, next we have the likes of Tav (no digs at him for yesterday, he got pass marks), waghorn, windass (same as tav), forrester, kiernan, garner, mckay, MoH and the rest of the squad, all these guys have never once played in a team where every pass, move and decision is scrutinised, every action is viewed a million times, every mistake is slaughtered to hell and back, they dont know pressure, will to win, the need to overcome the odds, thats our problem right there

When PLG tried his outlook on the game, he was found out pretty sharpish, and when Walter came back the first thing he did was install leaders and fighters, guys who knew the scottish game and guys who would stand toe to toe with our enemies and go for it instead of hiding, Walter also got money to fix the issues as well, Thomson, Davis, Cuellar amongst other signings

Make no mistake, i will fight for my club until my final days, but i will be realistic as well, this squad doesnt have the necessary experience or fight to go with their ability to win this title, no matter how much we think warburton can tinker with it

You're right about pretty much everything but the only way to get that experience is through playing for Rangers and experiencing results like this unfortunately. Now we'll see what the squad is made of. We can't go out and buy players from Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal etc who have experience of playing week in, week out where you're expected to win. People can spin it any way they want but the simple fact is; they played better than we did yesterday. Now you'd hope the squad will learn from that game and all the inevitable fall out this week (or probably until the next OF game) and never want to experience that again. Like I said, we'll see what they're made of.

Today we lost a battle, but the war is far from over. Celtic won the league last season dropping 28 points. We've only dropped 7. We need to pick it up a lot, but if you're one of the posters already surrendering, you are out of your mind.

We've dropped 7 from 15 to be fair though. If we keep up that pace we'll have about 60(ish) points come the end of the season. Celtic finished on 86. I'm not in meltdown like most others seem to be, just a bit of perspective.

We have not learned a thing for ages and I bet we have learned fuck all from today. In fact, I'll make an early prediction. Ross County 3 - Us 1.

Jesus mate, I know it's a sore one to take but I think you'd be better logging off for the night. You've gone into meltdown here.

He said he would invest £30m. He hasn't. Lying cunt!

He never said he'd spend £30m in 1 window. He said it would take £30m to build a squad to win the league and compete at champions league level. That doesn't happen overnight unfortunately. How many quality players are going to want to come here right now when we have no champions league to offer and they can get double the wages in England? When we have European football to offer is the time to start spending.
