I think we are showing far more respect to the other home nations than is shown to us parties in the street in Scotland, Wales and Ireland when England are elliminated? thats the way to behave if you want the English to have any decent opinion of you. And on the other points, who would you (from an objective viewpoint) prefer to watch, Scotland or Germany? Because I know who I would prefer to watch and that tears up that argument. Finally, the point about the home nations tournament... I think its nothing to do with respect, rather an understanding that the actual competition would mean fuck all to most in this day and age, and that top players are already playing to many games, so what would essentially be 4 friendlies are best avoided.

I count us as fucking fortunate. Our form so far this world cup has been nothing short of abysmal and yet it is still in our hands as to whether we qualify for the last 16. If that isn't incentive to stand and be counted for this group of Englishmen then I dont know what is. Lot of shite. Half the players are overweight There are some podgy footballers as well. The fittest rugby players at ten times fitter and stronger than footballers though, it's just a requirement of the game. Obviously stronger but no way on earth they are fitter in terms of cardio. Rugby is stop start and they cover far far less distance per game compared to footballers. My friend plays in the Guiness Premiership and he says most of the training time is spent practising set plays and tactics and the rest of the time trying to gain weight. Try telling that to 7's rugby players or scrum halfs. Honestly I play scrum half and I have to run some distance in a game just following the ball about. I am breathing out my arse after about 50mins. I can imagine how hard it must be for players at international level. But aye that was a shite game. The scrums were awful to watch. You just knew they were gonna collapse every time. Our line outs were good and so was our D. On another day we would have won. But at least its points on the board and if France win the moro its denied England the chance of winning the 6 Nations. Choking to beat the Irish next week. But they are going for the Triple Crown and possibly the full thing. Doubt we will win but can always hope. Super Saturday next week is gonna be murder.
