  1. Players wanting too many extra touches and easy 5 yard passes. We need to be quicker. But will take the win right now.
  2. Good team. I keep hoping to see a 4,4,2 with Morelos and Colak up front but I think that formation is somewhere in between the dinosaurs and the dodos.
  3. Yes maybe, it was a well taking goal. No one is going to disagree with that.
  4. I'm actually trying to argue the opposite. The goal should of stood as Matondo didn't make a direct pass to Colak.
  5. There was a game in England not long ago, cant remember which one but an opposition player hit it off an attacking teams player and it went to his team mate who was offside but the goal stood. Matondo won the ball off an opponents touch and hence it was in the same bracket as it resulted in an unintended pass to a Rangers player. I honestly think this could be argued as an onside goal. Whats a certainty is that if the scum had scored it this argument would be unequivocally correct by the sportscene pundits.
  6. That's maybe what I'm trying to get to. If Matondo did make an intended pass to Colak he is offside. I see it more as a tackle and as such Colak only came into play when he actually touched the ball. It could be argued that the touch by Matondo falls into the non deliberate category as it comes off the opponent and onto him where he didn't have full control of the ball.
  7. When he touches the ball he is onside. Due to it not being a deliberate pass or him being in an advantageous position when the tackle by Matondo happened and wasn't interfering with play the goal rightfully stood. VAR should agree with the refs on field decision.
  8. its definitely open for interpretation. Colak being in an offside position the moment Matondo touched the ball was anything but advantageous as he had to run away from goal to receive the ball and neither of the rules stipulated penalises Colak getting involved in active play.
  9. "2. Offside offence A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by: (...) gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has: rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar, match official or an opponent (...) A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent." I'm not sure, he definitely wasn't gaining any advantages by being offside and you can argue that Matondo didn't deliberately play the ball, it was more of a block.
  10. Law 11 - Offside: ‘deliberate play’ guidelines clarified | IFAB (theifab.com) There's a rule change that stipulates deliberate play could be relevant regarding Matondo's tackle/pass. Was Matondo in full control of the ball, did he intend to pass the ball or was it more of instinctive stretching with limited control.
  11. if you take into consideration the monetarily value of the two legs, there's a decent argument for it being giving the same advantages that the opponent will get. But I do see your argument, possibly in our case it would be better in this instance to play the game. The fact our useless authorities doesn't allow us the opportunity is a dereliction of duty.
  12. After todays game we will be setting up training routines for our game plan against PSV. After 1st leg its back to a domestic game before changing tactics again for the 2nd leg. Being allowed to put full concentration on the two legs only is advantageous. If it wasn't the Dutch wouldn't do it.
  13. yes maybe, but I can see a decent argument for postponement.
  14. The game plan and consequently the training in-between the two PSV games will be entirely different.
  15. yes, it'll allow us to set up training specific solely for playing against PSV after tomorrow's game. Gets a few behind closed door games for match fitness.
  16. Should the formation be dictated by allowing our right back the ability to put crosses into the box. Why can’t our formation be more attacking minded through the middle allowing players like Tillman and Collak to be the more attacking threat.
  17. The issues holding us back has been evident for a good few seasons. Gio needs to be brave enough to identify it and rectify it.
  18. Defensive blunder followed by an inability to do anything of note in the final third.
  19. The league is won but they are a little early for the parties. They are kids, kids do stupid things. My guess is BBC Scotland for the 1st ones to report it and to make it the worst COVID breach ever in the whole wide world.
  20. Think it’s all to continue the separate entity lie, they are just another team across Scottish football and nothing to do with them.
  21. That celtic statement is sickening. There’s nothing unequivocally in that statement. They have apologised for the whole of Scottish football and included their team with this other team called celtic boys club. They are still claiming separate entity.
  22. The commentary is a joke, they are far from dominating this game. I’ve not giving up on an equaliser yet.
